So now Russia has stopped threatening but weak EU leaders themselves start whining about the gas weapon and the nuclear threat. Now they are not ashamed but they should be, forcing Ukraine into a negotiated solution is borderline treason just as Ukraine is starting to gain the upper hand. Sent off a long post in the other thread about Ukraine’s steamroller that they are slowly starting up before realizing that this is where everyone was having fun.

Because none of them tried to force Putin into a negotiated solution, they have opposed it. Or have I missed that Scholtz or Macron asked Putin to give up Belgorod which is largely Ukrainian?
They have also had the nerve to criticize Zelensky. Now Italy joins this with Germany and France. Hungary is just outright traitors and a few more.

This was much expected and I gladly welcome really weak arguments like – then you should give a province to Russia as compensation for Ukraine reclaiming Crimea, Putin would be really happy with Paris or Berlin, much happier than getting Crimea. Then journalists should investigate everything and the USA impose sanctions on Macron, Orban, Scholtz, etc. until they learn to keep quiet when they should. Give Russia an inch and they want everything, anyone should have understood that by now, there is no compromise solution here and it’s probably damn lucky that Putin attacked Ukraine and not weak West.

Suggestion LW that when you make a double post in the morning you write in the first post so big that even I can’t miss that the day continues in the next post. For my part, I count coldly on that being the only post of the day and F5 now and then and completely miss that everyone is having fun somewhere else 🙂

Now I have probably thought along the lines that the window for a quick end is closed because the Russians are starting to go on the defensive.
Now the Russians haven’t done that at Popasna and Severodonetsk and they have really chosen the worst terrain there is for their last stand. If they start rotating in the few BTGs they have left from Kherson and the southern front to Severodonetsk and replace them with shattered BTGs then the window for a quick decision is definitely not closed. Now we don’t know that but one can always hope that Severodonetsk was Putin’s red line and that the city must be taken at all costs.

These double posts are always a bit tricky where you start writing in one and don’t see that a new one has come.
Now it’s no one of value who has scribbled down as usual but one reflection was that Mikael Skillt was apparently in Azovstal. He supposedly had a bounty on him from Russia for about a million or something.
