Regarding the electricity price, I read two interesting notes – one that some tomato growers in Sweden have stopped, and the other that some electricity-intensive manufacturing company that made pistons for Volvo and Scania engines could not manage with today’s electricity prices, and that Volvo and Scania could not fully compensate, they could just buy from Asia instead.
Feels like a critical situation that electricity-intensive industry cannot compete with these electricity prices. Even I know that we have been able to be competitive against the world with its lower wages precisely with low electricity prices and that a sky-high electricity price is devastating, or should we lower wages to Bangladesh level?
Closed nuclear power must probably be considered one of the biggest political mistakes of the last century and combined with closed hydropower, data centers, over-established wind power and “electrification,” then you have to go far back in time to find something similar.
