It wasn’t the easiest, you had to fire a CEO and reshuffle the board as well as give all the other parties what they wanted to secure the vote but now you have gotten what you wanted – more work for the Enforcement Authority.
Now all kinds of explanatory models are being developed as to why it is not the nuclear shutdown that has led to these high prices but the answer is simple. The state’s regulating power disappeared and the private actors have no interest in acting as regulating power, they like the highest possible price. It was the shutdown of the reactors that led to this, nothing else.

I had another round with the district heating company that was out, district heating is a byproduct of electricity production in the combined heat and power plant (I think that’s what it’s called).
They get paid to burn waste to generate electricity and as a byproduct they get district heating, which they sell.
70 öre to the end customer/kWh, including everything. And they made some billion in profit in 2022 at that price in a medium-sized municipality out in the country. The plant is wholly owned by the municipality and they have increased prices marginally over the last 10 years, a few öre or so per year.
They wanted to connect more because they still have to pump out cooling water into nearby watercourses during the low season.
They solve the peaks by burning residual products from the forest industry, which I believe they also got paid to collect?
Then they try to be at the top with carbon capture filters but there I also understand that it’s a bit of greenwashing for the environmental thinking.
One should connect everyone until they hit the capacity ceiling and one should do it as quickly as practically possible because then the pressure on the electricity grid eases, 80% goes to heating anyway in my house at least.
Then in 10-15 years when we have renewable alternatives that provide cheap and stable electricity, we can discuss the combined heat and power plants but we must have alternatives that work first.

Yes, I know the rivers do that but we have not shut down hydropower (yet but it is/was probably on the way).
Before the winter season, the state could have boosted nuclear power and that’s what I meant, not day-to-day regulation.
They also knew which periods hydropower was running low, they knew when there was normally high load and it worked well with the wind power too because hydropower was reduced?
They also had enough redundancy in the system to be able to have one or two reactors under maintenance running.
