P6 and P8 are probably what’s interesting and why people have started biting their nails. It’s still too early to predict anything but as you write IF Ukraine enters the season with poor ground bearing capacity, everything stops, Russia mobilizes and they give the West an enormous list of materiel they need because they have shot everything – no one today can say how the West will react, it’s uncharted territory.
That’s probably also why Ukraine is betting everything on one card here, I guess.
You actually have three scenarios on the table – the army refuses war/the army conducts spontaneous retreat or palace coup are the two least likely in my opinion.
The most likely scenario is that Putin et.al declare a smashing victory and to save world peace they leave all of Ukraine. The question is the naval base in Crimea but there Ukraine might be forced to give in. If Putin et. al. fail to read the room (which apparently is a very Russian trait) then the others will kick in.
Then power can quietly be transferred to the next candidate, Patrushev?, and everyone in the elite can continue to enrich themselves.
