That’s probably because it looks a bit strange, you might almost think it was developed in the 30s.
It’s not exactly state-of-the-art but probably does its job at least as well as the Soviet variants.

YPR has a heavy machine gun in an open turret but this one has a 25mm Oerlikon in a closed turret so a bit more punch.
The Belgians are said to have had 514 according to the article, then the question is how many they had left but maybe some have been delivered?

I find nothing on the Russian channels I check so repeating – could you post a couple of links supporting your claim above that a couple of hundred have been captured, would be appreciated.

While the Russians are losing fields with equipment, they managed to show off a whole Bradley and some HUMVEEs as war trophies from Avdiivka, they shot a handful of prisoners and UA took some losses during the urnesting. What a choice that uninjured soldier made who stayed with his comrades who could not be moved and was then shot dead. How would one have acted oneself and did this good deed serve any purpose at all except that for the faithful it was a deed that counts.
And Murz is shot – he went bananas over Russian losses in Avdiivka and was found dead. Does anyone here feel that the stress level is starting to get quite high in the Russian leadership, I think so 😀
What a damn support package it was yesterday – could “unspecified underwater combat systems” be some submarines (not seriously meant). The only thing missing was maybe Gripen.
Combat Boat 90 is almost perfect for landings with a lot of fire on the target so the defense down on Crimea and between Kinburn Spit – Crimea must be trembling for countless hit-and-runs with them going forward instead of on jet skis.
Looks good going forward because Hungary is probably completely cornered now and will not dare to try to obstruct again in next week’s vote – next week the door is presumably open?
In the speculation about what is shooting down all the modern Russian aircraft, no one has really discussed SOF with manpads, right?
Not everything needs to be Patriot, since it is repetitive bombings of Avdiivka for example where they do the same approach daily, a SOF group would know exactly where to position themselves to get a hit.

I believe China’s (possible) mediation behind the scenes should be seen in light of the fact that they themselves want an end to the war rather than trying to get a win for Russia but that is my opinion.
That Dubai is now also starting to close Russian accounts is hugely significant, just like China stopping doing banking with Russia. No transactions, nothing, right?
The oligarch wives will soon become our era’s great peace advocates, “out of Ukraine now” will be chanted so it echoes in the penthouses in Moscow’s finer neighborhoods when weekend trips to Dubai are cut 😀

When you know that Poland imported a lot of grain from Russia during 2023, you really wonder how they can block Ukraine – it is such an obvious Russian subversive activity and very strange that the country has not managed to address this yet.
Yesterday they became violent and some driver was assaulted and a lot of grain on trains was spilled on the ground – Poland should take it easy because they have built up a decent amount of goodwill but if they start falling back into this it could blow up fast.
Since the actions are illegal, and now also criminal, it is presumably a police matter?

Switching to another OT – with CO2 emissions, vegetation has apparently increased sharply I read. If one may guess, increased CO2 emissions contribute to increased greenery which reduces CO2 emissions?
I don’t know if there is any correlation the other way around 😀

I was quite wrong about UA’s promise of “an eye for an eye” when the Russian rocket rain started this winter – RU has shown continued willingness to shoot rockets at Ukraine despite burning oil industry.
However, the rocket campaign is an absolute violent failure – last year the density was about a hundred rockets and 2-3 week intervals I think and LV was not sufficiently developed.
Now they can probably send off 35 at best, often significantly fewer, they have shortened the window by a few days and then Ukraine shoots down 90% of the rockets on a good day. Including those that cannot be shot down.
The tube air defense probably works as it should because shaheds and other junk are heavily decimated during approach – poor return for 1.5 tons of gold that the Russians paid 🤣🤣

If anyone has the total number it would be interesting, there were 300 shot down early January sometime, they topped up with a North Korean and then they had 850 total or something?
The production plants for rockets all seem to have had technical faults so I don’t think new production is ramping up directly.

This weapons package we will be able to live on all weekend and then there will be ratification for NATO next week so then there will be a big party next weekend again – some concern for health here.
Have had the highest possible bosses here visiting and I work for a larger consulting firm, one was English (all my bosses’ direct superior) where it turned out we worked at the same company early 2000s and that we met in Angola among other places – we sat the whole evening talking memories. Guess if Johan No.1 got a stronger position against the project manager and his accomplice in the Netherlands 😀
