We have discussed IKV91, Stridsvagn S and Pbv302 in rounds and came to the conclusion that PBV302 was used the longest in some form. Crazy fun that we are sending all that remain. The thread’s early suggestions materialized again. Stridsvagn S are probably all destroyed and IKV91 as well, if I remember correctly how the discussion went?

For the mud season, let’s hope Sweden sends all the Bandvagn 206 we have, Norrland shooters for better condition of the white lightning.

Pbv302 is not a bad vehicle, comes with a 20mm autocannon where the loaders usually get quite good at quickly changing magazines for almost continuous fire. Quite similar to M113 otherwise in size and appearance.

Reading the usual that we know nothing.

Ukraine wants Gripen so that excuse died
https://www.svd.se/a/vgAdBV/ukrainas-ambassador-vi-behover-gripen

If we send 2-4-8 units it absolutely does ZERO for Swedish defense capability but is an increase in capability in Ukraine.

They have a combat base in Ukraine and then a service base in, like, Poland or so far west in Ukraine that Polish Air Force takes care of all the missiles, which they will surely do with the F-16 as well.

They don’t fly it up to Moscow, consider that if it flies up towards the northern border it fulfills its function but if it crashes it is on UA territory.

I think all explanations that we are idiots and know nothing fall apart and my money is on the USA in this case. Probably not because our weapons get used against targets in Germany but commercial reasons. It wouldn’t be good for them if Gripen stole the whole show in Ukraine as Leo2 has done with Abrams.

15:02

Oh, maybe it should have said targets in Russia 😐

16:17

Ukraine has asked for Gripen now. Guess how fun it was today for the fully trained pilots whose colleagues are buried alive under FAB bombs when politics and business got involved in this.

OF COURSE Ukraine can handle both F-16 and Gripen. Half of the EU has two or more aircraft in their air force and EXACTLY the same was said about them getting more than one tank, IFV, missile and so on.

And Ukraine has managed to kill Russians with pretty much everything for two years.

19:24

Imagine that 2.5 years into the war we should still be disappointed, in the winter of 1942 at least the Allies had started pushing back but here we are apparently waiting for some miracle?

I’m infinitely tired of this war and the constant setbacks.

21:07

Exactly so Senhor, we are weighing against a global conflict ala a world war and the West is rationing just enough support so Ukraine doesn’t throw in the towel and surprisingly many consider that a sound strategy even in the thread.

It absolutely didn’t work in WW2 so why would it work now.

You have also seen this during the Thirty Years’ War and the lousy negotiations that led to the “Sweden Curtain” and 90% dead of Pomerania’s population so I also understand your frustration.

Yes, only second 😎
