That was VERY smart by Zelensky and the message was excellent β a bit like guessing how to positively massage Trump’s ego if you want something from him.
Step two will probably be to try to meet him as soon as possible I guess?
Don’t know if you get further by giving Trump cash but maybe a billion in a couple of suitcases is also customary?
Those two messages have probably been polished by Ukraine for several months.
10:43
Yep Biden can absolutely do that,
-hello EU we no longer stop your Storm Shadows targeting Russia.
-hello Sweden send AWACS and Gripen.
-hello EU you can take over border control against Belarus.
-hello Poland you can shoot down missiles inside western Ukraine
-hello Poland you can send that Patriot battery.
-hello UK and Spain β can you send fighter jets to Poland so MiG-19s can be sent to Ukraine.
Then a bit of surplus equipment on top π
Those Black Hawks they are giving to all other countries right now for example and the 4.5 million DIPCM 155mm shells.
11:10
Now in the middle of all anger and grieving I want to remind about something someone (me!) often writes about in the thread β Russia’s subversive activities.
Has it started to become manageable yet that Putin managed to manipulate the US presidential election to get his Russia-friendly candidate in that position?
The personification of Russophobes has chosen a pro-Russian president π²
What do you think he is up to in Europe (you know because I usually write about it) π
For Putin this is the jackpot he has been waiting for β he celebrated with champagne and caviar this morning and if you check Trump’s WhatsApp there are lots of congratulations from him.
In hindsight I understand JD Vance, he looked like a weak candidate but now with the win he is Trump’s successor if he is murdered, has a stroke or resigns because he gets tired.
I interpret JD Vance as pro-Putin.
For example, my favorite Nikki Haley would have gone in a completely different direction as president.
Trump now has control over the Supreme Court, the vice president and possibly both houses β game on.
Xi Jinping not so happy reports Dengamle.
11:14
Not to forget β Putin’s subversive activities amplify conflicts and problems so the best and what I ALWAYS nag about is that our elected officials must take this seriously now and start leading their countries sensibly.
First out was the US where the D apparently did not manage well according to voters in the US.
Maybe time to take this as a warning in the EU and start pursuing policies that are good for the majority of citizens so you don’t risk being voted out?
11:51
I honestly think the EU should buy Trump off from Putin.
We send 50 billion euros to Ukraine without blinking.
Give Trump an advance and a promise of the remaining 49 billion euros straight into his personal account if he ensures that Russia withdraws to the 1991 borders.
And then be clear that whatever kompromat comes out it is deep fake and AI?
11:59
If we want to make it a bit whiter we buy consulting services from whatever his company is called for the equivalent amount π

Is it three couples or single households?

I refuse to back down on being happy that the eel-hell is disappearing β he is one of the worst for Ukraine as a person even though the country Germany has given a lot of support.
He has not exactly been Germany’s answer to Nelson Mandela and now he is trying to escape his creation.
I will try to follow him and see where he ends up after he resigns because then we will see whose errands he was running β US or Putin is probably 50/50 right now even though I have all along written Putin because otherwise the thread gets so damn sour when the highly sensitive see something that is not entirely positive about Biden.
00:21
What does the thread think the value of Kursk is now?
The EU has given it zero value (or have you heard something I missed?)
Trump is president (soon).
Putin does not intend to negotiate because he is advancing everywhere.
The North Koreans’ 11th army corps will secure the northern front.
A stroke of genius by Zelensky but since the playing field is a bit rigged it probably didn’t add much weight to the negotiations?
The next step was a violent missile rain on deep targets in Russia which was not allowed due to risk of escalation.
10:33
Dr Dan above about Trump’s peace proposal to give 20% of occupied land to RU.
Is about what they control today so Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts?
My question then is β does the rest of the West and Biden have a better plan in practice?
They have not accepted Zelensky’s victory plan and they have not resourced UA brigades β Zelensky has told us that.
And they are watching as Ukraine retreats.
What quickly becomes a bit disappointing is β is this the first concrete proposal on the table from the West π
Isn’t it time for the USA+EU to get a bit creative here instead of letting Trump take the lead even before he has taken office?
10:37
Do you think Ukraine will keep the area in Kursk in Trump’s deal?
(rhetorical questionβ¦)

10:32
Can report that the afterparty at Mar a Lago was a lot of fun and that Peanut the squirrel likes beer and can dance (was the only one I got in contact with before I got kicked out because I accidentally brushed against Ivanka when I walked by) π
The single biggest risk I see now is the following β
Ukraine is retreating everywhere, today’s Deepstate was not fun (again) and if Trump starts twisting Zelensky’s arm without the EU backing him enough, it could very well happen that Zelensky chooses negotiations and a ceasefire, or turns to China.
Now it’s not until January 20th, or 21st? and there is a lot the US can do before then, right.
But.. the current administration can choose to do nothing AND Trump may have been told to act immediately β that’s also a possible scenario.
But if we get there after a long Christmas break that all elected officials are just waiting for now without making the hard decisions and the EU chooses the easy way not to oppose the US, then there is probably a risk that we could end up there.
Now probably no one really knows which way Trump will run but the EU must identify the biggest risk and try to mitigate it β not wait until it is too late.
I think Ukraine is starting to feel quite lonely and abandoned here so a good start would be if a united EU was VERY clear that they will increase support until the 1991 borders are reached for example β you know this discussion about hope.
Don’t have time for a post, have my own Trump to deal with down here who just started the world’s big fight by not approving the contractor’s invoice for October based on a concoction of lies β it could get quite lively since it’s international financing but they are using Lebanese (they are Lebanese) negotiation techniques.
By the way, good on Kristerson for not taking a stance on the candidate before the election π
And maybe not so good for Sweden that Piiiiip and Piiiiip have been traveling around swing states campaigning for the candidate who didn’t win and posted that all over Twitter. My memory of Trump from last time is that he is a vengeful bastard.
The broad strokes are painted in 2024 someone usually writes and now at least the red paint is applied.
