Gas stations and warehouses hit in Kyiv after the night’s Russian attacks

Last night’s Russian drone attacks caused damage to gas stations and warehouses in Kyiv, and a fire also broke out at a transport company site. The attacks came on the same day that Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky warned Kyiv residents of a new large-scale assault from Russia. Kyiv does not have the resources to build shelters at every gas station, and the city also lacks enough air defenses to stop all drones and missiles.

Russia has shifted to sending drones around the clock instead of concentrated attacks during the night, forcing residents to spend increasing amounts of time in shelters. Read more at Kyiv Independent.

Zelensky met Trump yesterday
Zelensky met Trump yesterday in connection with the UN General Assembly meeting. How the meeting went and what they actually talked about is not clear, but Zelensky held a press conference afterward, and Kyiv Post reviews seven points from what was discussed during it.

Among other things, Ukraine was ready to stop attacks on Russian refineries if Russia in turn stops attacks on Ukraine’s power grid, heating, and water infrastructure. Zelensky also denied that Ukraine was pressured by Trump or anyone else to stop the attacks.

Operational information as of 08:00 on September 23, 2026, regarding the Russian invasion

Glory to Ukraine!
The 1673rd day of the Russian Federation’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun.

During the past day, a total of 247 combat engagements were recorded.
Yesterday, the enemy carried out one missile strike and 87 air strikes, during which 309 guided aerial bombs were dropped. Additionally, the attackers used 9,377 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,693 shellings against communities and our troops’ positions, including 34 with rocket artillery.

Hostile shelling affected, among others, the communities of Havrylova Sloboda, Fotovyzh, Ulanove, Yastrubshchyna, Tovstodubove, Bachivsk, Korenok, Bezsalivka, Neskuchne, Rivne, Volfyne, Obody, Rohizne, Pysarivka, Oleksiivka, Mala Korchakivka, Andriivka, Nova Sich, Ivolzhanske, and Mohrytsia, as well as Mykhalchyna-Sloboda in the Chernihiv region. Ulanove and Mala Korchakivka were subjected to air strikes.

During the past day, defense forces’ missile units and artillery struck a command and launch site for unmanned aerial vehicles belonging to the occupiers.

On the northern Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, four hostile assault attempts were recorded during the past day. The attacker carried out three air strikes with six guided aerial bombs and 149 shellings against our troops’ positions and communities, including eight with rocket artillery.

On the southern Slobozhansky sector, Ukrainian units repelled 14 hostile attacks. The attackers attempted to advance near Starytsia, Hrafske, and Lyman, as well as in the direction of Malyi Burluk, Putnykove, and Radkivka.

On the Kupiansk sector, the enemy once attempted to improve their positions through assault operations towards the community of Borova.

Attempts to break into our defense were repelled on the Lyman sector, where the occupiers carried out three attacks in the areas around Novoselivka and Stavky.

On the Sloviansk sector, the enemy conducted two assault attempts in the areas around Kalenyky and Kryva Luka.

On the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy conducted one assault attempt in the area around Fedorivka.

On the Kostiantynivka sector, updated information recorded 25 attacks. The attackers carried out assault operations in the areas around Kostiantynivka, Novoselivka, Rozkishne, Novopavlivka, Kucheriv Yar, and Vilne.

On the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy carried out 23 attacks. The occupiers tried to advance in the areas around Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Novohrishyne, Vodianske, Molodetske, Muravka, Myrne, Serhiivka, Novopidhorodnie, and Novopavlivka.

On the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy stormed twice in the areas around Berezove and Solodke.

On the Huliai Pole sector, the occupiers attacked our defenders’ positions four times. The enemy tried to advance in the areas around Huliaipilske and Charivne, as well as in the direction of Vozdvyzhivka.

On the Orikhiv sector, the enemy twice attempted to improve their positions in the areas around Mali Shcherbaky and Mala Tokmachka.

On the Prydniprovsk sector, the occupiers conducted no offensive operations.

On the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs have been detected that the enemy is forming offensive groupings.

In total, the Russian attackers’ losses during the past day amounted to 1,560 personnel. Additionally, three tanks, 13 armored fighting vehicles, 32 artillery systems, one rocket artillery system, two air defense systems, three ground-based missile systems, 1,426 unmanned aerial vehicles, 380 vehicles, and four units of special equipment were neutralized.
