Ukraine has once again attacked a Russian refinery

During the night, Ukraine attacked the Kuibyshev oil refinery in the Russian city of Samara. According to eyewitnesses and videos, a huge fireball lit up the sky after the hit, and other footage shows a fire with heavy smoke development.

The facility, located along the Volga River in southwestern Russia, about 765 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, can produce up to 10,000 tons of oil per day and approximately 3.7 MT/year. It is thus one of the smaller refineries, but as I have written before, considering how much capacity Ukraine has already knocked out in Russia, it is critical for them to keep as many refineries running as possible. Macron and Trump have discussed ceasefire and air defense for Ukraine

France’s President Emmanuel Macron has made a statement saying that he discussed air defense for Ukraine and a possible ceasefire for energy infrastructure between Kiev and Moscow with Trump. “We had a long discussion about Ukraine and Russia, the need to help our Ukrainian friends faster and stronger regarding reconnaissance aircraft, as this is the most important issue from a defensive perspective.” The meeting was held at Trump Tower in New York in connection with the UN’s 81st General Assembly. According to Macron, the meeting was “very constructive”.

Planned meeting today between Zelensky and Trump

Zelensky arrived yesterday in the USA to meet Donald Trump to discuss efforts and measures to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. Both are expected to meet at the UN General Assembly in New York, where hundreds of diplomats and world leaders gather to debate global challenges and crises.

In addition to consulting with Trump, Zelensky said that about 20 other meetings with officials and organizations were planned. He also announced that a new drone agreement was ready to be signed. “Of course, Ukraine’s highest priority is to bring peace closer and protect the lives of our people,” Zelensky wrote on X after landing in New York. “There are concrete security proposals and de-escalation measures that can bring the end of the war closer. We are working to strengthen air defense and ensure sufficient funding for Ukraine.”

Zelensky, who had a phone call with Trump on September 20, said their upcoming “meeting can change a lot.” The leaders are scheduled to meet on September 22, a Ukrainian official told Kyiv Independent.

Russian losses

Slightly lower losses regarding Russian soldiers, hopefully a temporary decline or even better, of course, that it is because Russia is starting to run out of soldiers to send to their deaths.

The 1672nd day of the Russian Federation’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun.

During the last 24 hours, a total of 248 combat contacts were registered.
Yesterday, the enemy conducted 87 airstrikes, during which 305 guided aerial bombs were dropped. In addition, the attackers used 9,647 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,795 shellings against communities and our troops’ positions.

In the Sumy region, the communities of Bachivsk, Ulanove, Tovstodubove, Kucherivka, Korchakivka, and Andriivka were subjected to hostile artillery fire. Additionally, the enemy conducted an airstrike around the Pustohorod area.

During the last 24 hours, the defense forces’ aviation, missile units, and artillery struck an area with a concentration of enemy personnel, three artillery systems, and an enemy command post.

In the northern Slobozhansky section, the attackers launched five attacks in the areas around Buniachyne, Mala Korchakivka, and Yunakivka.

In the southern Slobozhansky section, Ukrainian units repelled 10 enemy attacks. The attackers tried to advance in the areas around Starytsia, Kozacha Lopan, Lyman, Symynivka, Rybalchyne, and Zarubynka.

In the Kupyansk section, the enemy attacked once in the area around Kivsharivka.

Attempts to break into our defense were repelled in the Lyman section, where the occupiers conducted five attacks in the areas around Stavky, Shyikivka, Novoselivka, and Derylove.

In the Sloviansk section, the enemy carried out four assault attempts in the areas around Ozerne, Mykolaivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.

In the Kramatorsk section, the occupiers attacked once in the direction of the community of Fedorivka Druha.

In the Kostiantynivka section, 19 attacks were registered. The attackers conducted assault operations in the areas around Kostiantynivka, Novoselivka, Illinivka, Dovha Balka, Rozkishne, and Novopavlivka.

The largest number of assault attempts was recorded in the Pokrovsk section, where our defenders stopped 33 attacks. The enemy was active in the areas around Bilytske, Serhiivka, and Novopavlivka and also conducted assaults in the direction of Toretske, Sofiivka, Dobropillia, Novyi Donbas, Vilne, Hannivka, Krasnopodillia, Vodianske, Dorozhnie, Vasylivka, and Myrne.

In the Oleksandrivka section, the attackers conducted an attack in the direction of the community of Ternove.

In the Huljajpole section, the occupiers attacked 14 times. The enemy tried to advance in the areas around Rizdvianka, Ternuvate, and Kopani.

In the Orikhiv section, our defenders stopped two enemy attempts to advance in the direction of Pavlivka.

In the Prydniprovsk section, the enemy conducted no assault operations during the last 24 hours.

In the Volyn and Polissya sections, no signs have been detected that the enemy is forming offensive force groupings.

The Ukrainian defenders continue the systematic fight against the enemy and effectively resist on all front sections.

In total, the Russian attackers’ losses during the last 24 hours amounted to 1,230 personnel. Additionally, three tanks, nine armored fighting vehicles, 42 artillery systems, two rocket artillery systems, one air defense system, eight ground-based missile systems, 1,441 unmanned aerial vehicles, 312 vehicles, and four units of special equipment were neutralized.
