  1. India is not allowed to buy oil from Russia, but they import soybeans themselves?

The issue with tariffs against India probably has nothing to do with Russia at all, Trump probably hoped that he himself would get to export oil there.

“The USA purchased soybeans from Russia for a record $16.8 million in July, according to an analysis by RIA Novosti of data from the US statistical service. 1/3 …”

    1. Trump has not really introduced anything (unless it has been automatic from the Biden era) to the detriment of Russia. It is fair to say that the rest of the world has been subjected to tariffs, even uninhabited territories, but not Russia.

    2. Entered the match today because sea buckthorn berries were to be picked and the boat was to be taken up and washed, and hanging out on the terrace with the neighbor.

But regarding Trump, there are probably several things that affect.

      – He cannot see the consequences of his actions, it’s too far into the future, and if someone else tells him about it, he doesn’t believe it, which ultimately means they are not loyal, so they should be replaced.

      – He only acts on impulses.

      So what triggers these impulses?

      – Money, what can I earn from this?

      – Power. What can I control if I make this decision?

      – Revenge. What have my predecessors or opponents decided that I can reverse.

      – Revenge. Can I blame a potential failure on my predecessors or opponents.

      – Revenge. Can I make a decision that puts my predecessor in a bad light.

      – Personal contact. Is the country’s leader nice? Does he give me something? Does he treat me like the great leader I am?

What normal barriers is Trump lacking that normal people have, and that could prevent many of the decisions he makes or doesn’t make.

      – Critical thinking. Trump decides whether to believe or not believe presented arguments based on how he feels about the person presenting the argument. How he feels about the person depends on what the person has given him to gain his trust, could be flattery, a favor, or a bribe. Whether the argument is scientifically proven doesn’t matter, in his world there are alternative facts, which can be equally true.

      – Self-awareness. Trump’s narcissism and his ego leave no room for self-awareness, none of his failures are ever his own fault. There is always someone else to blame.

      – Morality. Is the decision ethical, does it negatively affect individuals, the environment, the country’s economy, etc. No problem, as long as it doesn’t negatively affect Trump, his family, or his closest supporters.

      – Instinctive disdain for liars and lies. Trump doesn’t place much value on the truth, as long as it doesn’t benefit him. Ask Trump a question, and he’ll give an answer, anything. The answering is what’s important, not the answer. From his mentor Putin, he has learned that lying is a tool, but he doesn’t master the art of lying as well as Putin yet, so he often forgets his lies and is not as consistent.

Putin is a man who has had and continues to have a great influence on Trump, he is the closest thing to an idol for him. He is impressed by his power, and how he has taken control of Russia politically and economically over the past 20 years, and the admiration he has received from his people. Trump wants to be the same, even though time is starting to run out now.

  3. Test driving of Russia?

“The police and SOS Alarm warn the public about the fake important messages to the public (VMA) that have been sent via SMS to individuals mainly in Västra Götaland, writes Aftonbladet. – We naturally take this very seriously and have investigative work in progress. It is important that the public can trust the information distributed via VMA,” says police spokesperson Fredrik Svedemyr. The SMS messages have, among other things, contained claims of attacks against Sweden, armed individuals, and explosive substances. Most recipients are located around Borås and Lerum.”

    1. That was quite interesting actually – someone has managed to send a VMA and the subject is exciting.

Then you have two power outages in Gotland, 20-30 mobile towers along our west coast and surely a lot of other things we are not aware of.

It requires quite an extensive organization to deal with such things and Sweden is far from the most vulnerable.

  4. Yes, I believe much of what is happening now is about establishing a normalcy that makes us not notice directly when the war begins. If the GPS is always fluctuating, you receive strange VMA alerts, and see green men in the bushes every now and then, you don’t realize that the war started immediately, but it takes half a day or so. One day, there may be a slightly unusual number of airspace violations and quite a few cables breaking in the Baltic Sea, but weak politicians still want to believe that it will pass if they just turn a blind eye. I actually think our defense forces have pretty good control.

  5. Yes, that it is preparing for war is quite clear.

The question is just when 😄

Sweden fortified Gotland for less than this, so I am curious about what lies behind the walkover in the Baltics.

    1. In some way, I believe that European politicians need to believe that Russia is attacking the Baltics. Then one can blame being part of NATO and simply must engage in the war, much like one can blame other uncomfortable things on the EU.
