Ukraine has attacked the oil refinery in the Russian city of Yaroslavl – There are also fires in the Russian city of Tver, probably from shot down or disrupted drones.

The oil refinery “Slavneft-YANOS” in Yaroslavl is one of Russia’s larger ones with an annual production of 15.7 million tons of oil. According to reports, there have been at least seven explosions heard, and in some posts, it was even mentioned that the heat was so intense that the fire department couldn’t reach to extinguish it.
Watching the video from there, it’s a bit difficult to assess the extent. It’s clear that there is a significant fire and massive smoke development. We hope that the operation will be shut down for a long time.
The war in Ukraine, as I have written before, may be decided precisely through these attacks that hit hard on Russia’s economy.

In Tver, it seems to be burning in at least a couple of places, and a residential building has been hit, among other parts of the city as can be seen here. Tver is almost on the way to Yaroslavl, my guess is that the Russians have managed to disrupt or perhaps shoot down some drones on their way to the refinery, and that they then fell over Tver.

Russian losses

Today’s report is unusually filled with losses in almost all categories.

  • 1400 KWIA
  • 2 Tanks
  • 8 AFVs
  • 16 Artillery systems
  • 2 MLRS
  • 3 Anti-aircraft systems
  • 1 Aircraft
  • 253 UAVs
  • 2 Cruise missiles
  • 107 Vehicles & fuel tanks
  • 2 Special equipment

    1. I don’t dare to click, but I’m curious about what a revoked license entails? That they can no longer act as a bank and are required to be liquidated? Customers will get back what is in the bank, maybe not 100% of the deposited funds?

Unlike bankruptcy where the same thing happens, but this will happen later and then there will probably be even less funds left to repay to the customers?

Regardless, it’s good news, but hopefully a larger bank next time…

  1. Hostile intelligence attacks against the United Kingdom have increased by 50 percent over the past year. This was stated by the British intelligence chief Adrian Bird in connection with the launch of the new military intelligence service MIS on Thursday, as reported by Politico. The operations are mainly carried out by Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea.

At the same inauguration, Defense Minister Al Carns said that the United Kingdom and its allies must prepare for a possible future war and that the country is rapidly developing new contingency plans. He emphasized in particular that every citizen must know their role.

    – The shadow of war is knocking on Europe’s door once again. That is the reality. We must be prepared to face it, Carns said according to Sky News.

  2. OFF-Topic, Trump and the Republicans

Nice to see a few more Republicans with integrity.

“The politicians in the American state of Indiana’s Senate have voted down a proposal to redraw the country’s electoral districts in favor of the Republicans, reports The Washington Post. This despite the fact that the state is one of the Republicans’ strongest strongholds and that President Donald Trump has been pushing to push through the proposal.

22 Republicans chose to join forces with the ten Democrats in the Senate and vote no, causing the proposal to fail with 31 votes against 19.

The Washington Post writes that the result can be seen as a sign that Trump’s grip on the Republican Party may be weakening, but also that it may lead the president to put even more effort into pushing the issue of redrawn electoral districts in states that have not yet decided.”

    1. Have Merz and Macron not woken up for real now? Moreover, Merz is relatively transparent. Is Starmer still burying his head in the sand and hoping it will blow over, or is he starting to wake up too?!

    2. Poland, Italy, Hungary, and Austria to be clear.

What a pity if they succeed with Hungary, maybe they can join the Ryzzka Union instead?

Talk about having delusions of grandeur, I wonder what they would say if we offered Texas to join the EU?

      1. Minnesota, of Swedish descent 🇸🇪. On the border with Canada so it works out with national borders (so no San Marino). Province/county/region rather than municipality. Governor. Maybe Ebba Busch Thor should pack her bags and visit the towns of Minnesota and promote. Then a referendum.

    1. The members of the investigation group are retired heavyweights if you go by their CV.

Now they have sent the entire investigation to universities around the world for review.

      1. Defective bow visor. Should not have departed from Tallinn in the current weather conditions.
The sister ship Diana II, owned by Myrsten in Gotland, experienced the same problem the year before between Trelleborg and Rostock in a severe storm. But the captain made a better decision: reversed back to Trelleborg. Problems with bow visors are well known. Already in 1966, Tor Line discovered the issue and welded the bow visors in place on Tor Anglia and Tor Hollandia. After the Estonia incident, bow doors were introduced, which is a much safer solution.
The history of problems with bow visors is long. Shipyards usually blamed the crew, but in 1972, Stena took a stand when “Stena Sailor” (unsure of the name) lost the bow visor off New Zealand. Since then, Stena has never used bow visors.
The reason for the Estonia disaster is a design flaw (the shipyard built according to the plans), a defective bow visor in a storm, and incorrect decisions by the boat’s crew (poor seamanship).

  3. It is frightening that the USA is attempting a new Yalta Conference.

But you know that the USA, like the bank, is not your friend if you have read the posts.

  4. It would be quite amusing if Zelensky’s proposal regarding the land areas they might consider giving up is the conquered pieces in Russia…

    1. That’s why they took Kursk but Trump refused to even mention it.

Then two days before the negotiations were to begin, Ukraine left and Putin had previously said he refused to even open discussions as long as Kursk was ongoing.

      I know what I believe 😡

  5. The EU is expected to freeze Russian central bank assets in Europe indefinitely, paving the way to use the money to support Ukraine. This is reported by Reuters. EU countries aim to approve the plan by a vote no later than 17:00 Swedish time. A permanent freeze would replace the current system that requires extensions every six months and at the same time eliminates the risk of Hungary and Slovakia obstructing the decision, according to the news agency. At the same time, the Russian central bank responds by suing the securities institution Euroclear and demanding compensation for financial losses, writes FT. In total, there are 210 billion euros in frozen central bank assets in the EU, the majority of which are held by Euroclear in Belgium.

  6. Now, perhaps that is Trump’s plan after all, but the USA is well on its way to losing all respect in Europe.

It is now so OBVIOUS that the USA has tried a Yalta 2.0 and when it failed, they just increase the pressure.

ww2, the Cold War, today – the common denominator is that the USA is not our friend.

    Churchill noticed it quite quickly.

  7. My right/wrong DNA strand is very angry at the USA/Trump, on a scale of 1-10 where one is mildly annoyed and 10 is looking for explosives, it’s probably a strong 8.

All the US movies where you learned how nice they are apparently aren’t true 😡😡

  8. We have gone through WW2, Yalta, Churchill, South America during the Cold War several times.

This is so infinitely deceptive that one can probably suspect with good reason that the USA is planning some kind of truce with China.

  9. My brother is stopping by tomorrow, you remember him with the white russian?

    So, taking it easy today.

Food suggestions for white russian didn’t yield much on Google, everyone knows red wine with meat and white with fish, but it seems they haven’t come up with food recipes for white russian yet.

    1. Speaking of White Russian. At the time, that is when we “commuted” between Helsingborg – Helsingör, we managed two Black Russian and an old Danish / crossing that took 20 minutes. While we were in port, we couldn’t order. We could keep going like that all day. Now it’s not as fun with the Öresund Bridge. One has to drive and three in the back with brought bottles. We can hardly even switch drivers. Everything was better in the past. 🥳

  10. When Trump tries to make us tougher, the hope is probably that we will start fighting among ourselves instead.

Because as soon as we start to agree on an issue, the USA first tries to crash it and then accuses us of warmongering.
