Ukraine has attacked the Russian Leningrad and fires have broken out in the port of Ust-Luga + today’s report on Russian losses

The port of Ust-Luga is one of Russia’s largest hubs for the transportation of crude oil and petroleum products and is crucial for Russia’s income. Ukraine carried out a major drone attack overnight targeting Leningrad and, among other places, that port. Russia claims to have shot down 56 drones and that nothing has been damaged. However, according to reports, at least one fire has broken out in the port, as shown in a video. The Russians are lying as usual. The port of Vyborg has also been attacked, where a ship has apparently been damaged, visible here, and a building has been hit and is on fire, link here.

So, Ukraine seems to be targeting Russian ports now to choke off their exports, and considering the high oil prices and the lifted American sanctions, it is absolutely right that they take matters into their own hands.

Russian Losses in Ukraine

High number of KWIA compared to the current average. UAVs at the second-highest ever along with 23 cruise missiles. Well done by the Ukrainian defense even though unfortunately a lot slipped through. It was one of the war’s most extensive Russian terror attacks according to Kyiv Independent. I wrote yesterday that there were 3 killed and 16 injured, but it turned out in the end that the 7 dead and at least 50 injured Ukrainians included a six-year-old child.

  • 1220 KWIA
  • 6 Tanks
  • 3 AFVs
  • 51 Artillery systems
  • 2,459 UAVs
  • 23 Cruise missiles
  • 196 Vehicles and Fuel tanks

Here is an overview of Russian losses since the war started.

  1. “A Russian drone has violated Latvia’s airspace on Wednesday, according to the country’s defense forces as reported by Reuters. The drone is said to have crashed in the southeastern parts of the country, as reported by the Latvian newspaper Diena.

The defense forces, police, and border guards are on site and have found parts of the drone.

No individuals were harmed, and there are also no reports of material damage. There is no further risk to civilians or the Latvian airspace, according to the statement.”

  2. Iran

“Iran pushes back against reports that the USA has sent a 15-point plan to end the war, Reuters reports. Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for the Iranian military, says that Iran will never agree with the USA.

    – Have your internal conflicts escalated to the point where you are now negotiating with yourselves? he says.

Reuters, just like the New York Times and Israeli Channel 12, has information that the USA has developed a plan and that it has been sent to Iran.

The plan includes, among other things, provisions that the important Strait of Hormuz must remain open and that Iran must never strive for nuclear weapons.”

“A fuel tank at the international airport in Kuwait is on fire after new nighttime attacks, several media outlets report. The tank was hit by a drone, but the government does not disclose which country fired it. No one is reported to have been physically injured.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense also states that several drones and a ballistic missile have been shot down during the night.

At the same time, Israel has carried out a new wave of attacks on Iran’s capital Tehran during the night, AP reports. The country’s infrastructure is said to have been the target, according to the military. Iran, in turn, states that attacks have been directed at Israel and American bases in countries like Jordan and Bahrain.”

  3. What smart plan lies behind Trump’s support for Orbán? Is it simply that he wants to weaken the EU? That he wants a Hungary that continues to support Russia and continues to disrupt the EU by acting as a brake on the decisions made and by leaking information from EU meetings directly to Russia?

“Trump urges Hungarians to vote for Orban, calls him ‘true friend, fighter, and winner'”

    1. Flurrevuppen

Trump has had close ties with Orban for many years. It is the ties between Trump/Orban/Putin that lead to thoughts that there may be some kind of pact for “the despot’s hegemony” where the EU and other non-despotic-led countries are seen as “the enemy”.

  4. Apparently, a Russian drone has crashed into a chimney in Estonia now. It seems like Russia may have started testing NATO’s boundaries a bit more, considering that even Latvia had drone visits last night, or maybe they are just normally clumsy.

    1. Maybe they have been influenced by Iran? And will try to project that they are sending these helter-skelter towards neighboring countries in order to then defend themselves by claiming that these countries are helping Ukraine attack Russia. Something they hope to get attention and understanding for from Washington.

  5. An increase in Russian attacks, which can also be reflected in the KWIA statistics. The Russian attacks (144) increased for the second day in a row while the unlocalized, possibly Ukrainian attacks have remained at roughly the same level in recent days, around 50. The Russians seem to have gathered strength and the attacks are at the same level as the days before the offensive last week. The focus is on Pokrovsk, Konstantinivka, and Huliaipole, which were also at the top during the offensive last week, even though there were sectors to the north that increased significantly at that time.

AFU at 08:00, localized Russian attacks (144) in the last 24 hours per front section, from north to south:

  6. I see that you decided on a double post MXT but do not specify under which post today’s mockery of me from Dengamle will take place?

Are we going with your long well-written post or my short one?

  7. Now there are three drones in total in the Baltics and Estonia – Latvia has separately claimed that it was an accident.

    We NEVER learn.

  8. MXT seems to have disappeared for the day?

Isn’t it almost lunchtime over there?

I had a job interview at one in the morning and couldn’t fall back asleep, of course…

I’ll write a short third post about Mona and put it first to mix things up 👍

    1. It’s a bit of guerrilla tactics, attack and quickly withdraw. MXT takes advantage of the fact that it’s late night/early morning where you are.

  9. By the way, L has risen to 4.5% – it is statistically impossible for a unanimous media to say that Mona made her life’s mistake with the Judas kiss, or Mona, the Swedish-speaking Palestinian, didn’t Guillou call her?

How has Sifo cheated with the opinion poll is what I want to know?

If it were true – great for all the new ones who got a chance in the parliament 10 years earlier than the journey should have taken, just to congratulate.

  10. Anyway, now the escalation against the Balts is underway at least.

Three drones that no one saw and no one shot down – I’m on the verge of tears at how darn slow Europe is.

    It’s almost hard to grasp.

It’s not the only thing, Russian aircraft have recently violated as well.
