Ukraine’s 40-day campaign has been over for a couple of days. If you are Russian or a supporter of the Russian terror regime, I must, with a big smirk, disappoint you. The attacks on Russia continue with undiminished strength, and during the night Ukraine attacked two refineries, one in Syzran in the Samara region and the other in Ilsky, Krasnodar Krai, and both caught fire after the attacks.

Unfortunately, Russia once again attacked Kyiv and according to reports, three people have been killed, including a child.

    The suspected sighting comes two days after a serious security incident involving unknown drones at Germany’s Leipzig/Halle airport on the night of August 5. One drone was found next to a Ukrainian transport aircraft while another collided with an incoming cargo plane, causing minor damage and temporary flight stoppages.

    Two days later, around 10:00 a.m. local time on August 7, two drones were observed over the Mechernich military base, located in Germany’s Euskirchen district in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. A spokesperson from the Bundeswehr’s operational command confirmed the sighting, according to the German media outlet Die Zeit.

    The military police initially investigated the incident, the spokesperson said. The investigation has now been handed over to the local police in Euskirchen.

    Suspicious drone incidents linked to Russia have repeatedly disrupted airports across Europe, causing flight stoppages and diversions. Similar incidents have been reported at military bases in EU and NATO countries.

    The incident at Leipzig airport marks an escalation of the security threat such incidents pose, and Germany’s Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt calls it “very serious.”

    Authorities reported that a “modified drone” containing a detonator and an “unknown substance” was discovered near a Ukrainian Antonov Airlines An-124 transport aircraft at the airport, which has served as a base for Antonov Airlines since shortly after Russia’s full-scale invasion.

    Another “unidentified flying object” collided with a DHL plane, forcing it to divert to Hamburg airport. No fatalities occurred in either incident.

    The drone intrusion triggered a meeting of Germany’s national security council. Dobrindt did not rule out the possibility that “foreign powers” were behind the operation, which could represent a “hybrid attack.”
