Extensive Ukrainian Attacks During the Night
Ukrainian forces attacked yet another Wildberries warehouse during the night. This warehouse was located about 40 kilometers from Moscow and is reportedly one of their largest, with a capacity of 250,000 square meters. Ukraine has not previously attacked Wildberries near Moscow, and there has been speculation that this might be because Moscow is so well protected by air defenses. Now Ukraine attacked, and the air defenses were of little use; the warehouse is burning, and from the images of the fire, it seems nothing can be saved.
The warehouse is completely engulfed in flames and probably nothing can be saved

Here you can see how close the warehouse was to Moscow.

Ukraine attacked several other locations near Moscow, and in the city of Domodedovo, an industrial area was hit where it is reported that another warehouse of 16,500 square meters was struck. Drone attacks have also been reported from the city of Chekhov.

Good morning
Good news from Moscow.
The Russian bastards are slow-witted despite extensive extra teaching in FAFO.
I had completely missed this.
High time for Sweden to introduce an entry ban for Russian bastards.
“When ‘Europe Smash’ is held in Malmö, history will be made.
It will be the first table tennis tournament in Europe in several years where the Russian flag will be seen.
– It is unfortunate, says Tomas Eriksson, chairman of the Swedish Table Tennis Association.”

Agree, I don’t understand that the Russians are now allowed to compete in every sport. The war continues in the same way it always has, it hasn’t changed, so there is absolutely no reason to suddenly allow them to participate. I suspect that bribes are involved.

You can almost smell the plastic when you see the pictures. Aaaaahhh.
Johan posted yesterday in the thread a picture from a Tweet last night regarding Chinese activities in the UK.
If you missed it, you can read more here.
The Telegraph has reported that China is financing pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the United Kingdom through left-wing groups such as Code Pink. The reporting, which is now being investigated by British authorities, involves suspected transactions from an American tech millionaire with ties to the Chinese Communist Party. The accused parties, of course, deny the allegations.
This does not stop with the UK, of course.
EU politicians who otherwise love to regulate things need to get their act together.
Our enemies want division so badly. China, Iran, and not least the Russian bastards are conducting extensive campaigns, as well as now the USA through the MAGA clowns.

Off-Topic, mellanårsvalet i USA

I really hope that the MAGA GOP gets a real slap in the face so that we can start clearing out the cancer that has taken over Lincoln’s old party.

Technology and armament race. Unfortunately, the Russian devils are also innovative. And sanctions from the free Western world have been handled far too laxly.
In addition, they receive support from China. Each individual component can certainly be classified as dual use, so China feels that they can get away with it.
We need to improve both our own sanctions and also to impose demands on China.
Came across this opinion piece full of BS and arguing for so-called “low arousal approach” somewhere via a post, with Bernie Sanders as the author. Completely on par with the disaster and former KGB informant Jan Guillou’s column from the same time, if you remember.
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/feb/08/we-must-do-everything-possible-avoid-enormously-destructive-war-ukraine
I otherwise partly like Bernie Sanders. He is often sharp, uses factual well-thought-out arguments without clichés.
But here BS really delivers BS.
Sure, he has some reasonable points in the text but overall he sounds like the worst Russian troll. Everything is NATO’s fault and he legitimizes Russia’s attack by saying they have to protect themselves and that’s exactly what the USA would have done and therefore the USA should not do anything that could worsen the situation…
Exactly the arguments Russia and its propaganda pushed hard with mainly at the beginning of the war.
I agree with him that one should generally be damn careful about starting wars. It almost always risks worsening the situation.
Now he demanded that before the war started but by that time it was clear that Russia was about to illegally attack Ukraine. The war was therefore almost a fact, and then it is not good enough to be cowardly and passive if you want to be on the right side when history is written.
His article gets five 🤡 out of five possible.
I wonder if he is an honorary member of Svenska freds as well?
I recently read Ganman’s “Confessions of a Brown Rat,” which among other things discusses Sanders. You get tired when you realize how much some people can spew without the media reacting in Sweden; it has already been decided that they are the good ones.
I can recommend that book, even if you don’t like Ganman. I don’t think anyone can say he is completely wrong after reading it. It was written before the pandemic, so it’s especially interesting to see what he said and how things turned out.
So even if you think he’s crazy (according to several media outlets in Sweden), give it a chance—you will be surprised.
** ❗️On the night of August 16 (from 18:00 on Aug 15), the enemy attacked Kyiv, Kremenchuk and Kryvyi Rih with Onyx, Iskander-M/S-400/KN-23, Kh-59/69 missiles and 106 Shahed UAVs. **

Off topic Krasnov is really focused.
“The U.S. Navy is considering redesigning the upcoming aircraft carriers – because the president wants a more old-fashioned look.
According to The Washington Post, President Donald Trump wants the multi-story tower, which is located towards the rear, to be moved more towards the center. The reason: the Navy’s largest ships should resemble those from World War II, according to seven sources with insight.
This could cost billions and delay the entire project, where one ship is in service, one has been launched, and two are under construction.
The White House requested earlier this week a plan from the Navy to replace the modern electromagnetic catapult system, which is used to launch planes from the ships, with a steam- and hydraulics-driven system on the USS Doris Miller, which began construction this year.”
https://www.di.se/mobil/nyheter/trump-kravet-hangarfartyg-ska-se-ut-som-forr/
The fact that the navy even considers it must mean that they take both the man and the title GröFaZ seriously.
Afraid that all sensible people have already been replaced by new ones, where the only and decisive merit is being loyal to Trump.
It is likely that in 100 years there will be a history book titled “The Rise and Fall of an Empire,” and it will not be about Rome or the British Empire. Although it might be written in Chinese, unless we stop buying Temu junk and routers from Xiaomi.
Or any electronics since 90% are made in China
That is probably in line with his ideas. It should obviously be a coal-fired steam engine, not some modern electric catapult! Everything was also better in the past and that is more important than building it optimally!
He might want to replace the entire propulsion with steam engines, or why not take it a step further and use galley slaves?
Even though one is used to his nonsense, one is still amazed.

A month’s meat.
What is the reason that Ukraine is bombing Wildberries? Those of you with better understanding than me might be able to explain.
The official explanation is that they sell both military products and dual use items, and that is probably legally sufficient. But the main reason is likely that this will hit Olga and Ivan in a way they have not experienced before.
What Vildbären and Ozon have managed to do is build a network that has no equivalent in Moskoviet. It might be better compared to if all our major online retailers (Amazon, CDon, etc.) also took responsibility for the majority of all warehouses (so they are not just a contact link between buyer and seller) and furthermore handled all transportation (PostNord, DHL, Schenker, etc.) and delivery (Instabox, ICA stores, OKQ8, local pizzerias) of goods. They simply break the entire chain, unlike here where maybe one link breaks and you can bypass it much more easily.
This will have economic, but also “convenience-related” consequences that will significantly impact the average person. And then maybe the Russian will wake up and start questioning the power of their feudal lords. But also the Russian in the trenches who can no longer equip themselves beyond what they get (buy) from the military’s supplies.
Even the fact that Wildberries has large loans in, among others, Sberbank, which they can hardly afford to repay now. Insurance companies that do not have the capacity to handle this (if they were even insured at all).
Wildberries will go bankrupt and the banks will need government assistance to survive.
Nor will the small companies that use Wildberries to sell their goods survive, as their entire inventory has burned down and the compensation is poor.
The domino effect takes on a whole new meaning!
Multiple
First and foremost, the logistics network is used for military purposes; the company also has enormous bank loans that will not be able to be repaid. Finally, there is a huge impact on the economy of the shithole country. 🙂
Thank you for the answers, Umlaut and Pehr.
They previously had a special SMO section with military equipment, but they removed it so it wouldn’t be obvious that it was aimed at soldiers.
They don’t sell weapons as far as I’ve seen, but you can find everything from bulletproof vests, helmets, camouflage clothing, knives, etc.
Additionally, they sell all sorts of things you might need to build and fly FPV drones. From goggles and controllers to drone parts, batteries, etc.
Then perhaps the biggest reason is still the economic one. It affects not only Wildberries but maybe even more so all those who run businesses and have their products stored there.
By targeting warehouses, one can cause great damage and even though there will be some civilian casualties, it is still not on the level of the Russians bombing residential areas.
And as Umlaut writes, it will affect ordinary people too. Not only when it comes to deliveries that never arrive, etc., but there will also be very visible results in the form of huge fires that can be seen far and wide and are shared in the news and on social media. The war has finally come to Russia. Whether this will lead people to want an end to the war, or if it might instead unite the Russians, is hard to know. It could go either way. The patriots will be strengthened, ordinary people might instead start to get tired.
👍
The drone that was shot down in Romania earlier in the day appears to have come from Russia, a NATO spokesperson said according to Reuters. The drone was shot down by Spanish NATO fighter jets around five in the morning and did not cause any damage. According to AFP, the drone is said to have entered Romania from Moldova. It is the fourth drone to be shot down in Romania this year.
