Even if you want to push your opponents (for example Paludan the Russian peddler πŸ˜€) this law is starting to become inappropriate in its application in parts of the EU and it is used very selectively, I have actually discovered to my surprise over the past year, but it is possible that Aida Samani has the answer why below.

I find the second paragraph in TV4 interesting and then the bearing on “minorities”.
What happens when minorities commit incitement/hatred against another minority ethnic group?
Or hate crimes within minority groups, someone mentioned the MAGA attack on various gender identities above but we also have a certain aversion to the gay movement from some countries in MENA for example where the diaspora brings this with them where they move.

Quote TV4:
β€œThe prosecution is based on material and testimonies from two Quran burnings in MalmΓΆ, where he for example shouted that Muslims’ mothers are prostitutes and that Muslims do not like Western democracy and freedom of speech.

– We have strong freedom of speech and we should have that, but Sweden and several other European countries have since 1948 decided that we should limit freedom of speech to some extent to protect minorities against hate propaganda. It is a lesson learned after the Holocaust, says Aida Samani, deputy chief legal officer at Civil Rights Defenders.”

A little correction since not many bothered to google, he was not convicted for the burnings but for the hatred/threats against Muslims.
Then the purpose was of course to get him convicted for anything since they want to silence the Quran burnings (that was the stated purpose to bring him to court I read) so they ran an Al Capone on him.

But it is still free to burn Qurans just to clarify πŸ‘

Yes, that is where the application of the law becomes a bit tricky which was what I tried to point out πŸ˜€

Then I think the practice Aida points out goes against the principle of equal treatment and that everyone is equal before the law.

So my conclusion is that the group that manages to portray itself as the most minority in the legal sense can start exploiting the law for their own benefit if they want to which is probably what we are starting to see in some cases and then I think one should reconsider because that was ABSOLUTELY not the purpose of the original law before all the additions.

It was supposed to protect vulnerable groups from threats and hate.

I’ve started to suspect that it won’t make any difference when the election is over. Afraid Biden is starting to get senile and fearful and doesn’t want to be the president who possibly provokes Putin enough to cause a third world war.

Even if Harris wins, probably nothing will happen until next year.
Harris even declined to get support from him in campaigning.
If you don’t take help from the sitting president, that says something.

Now I don’t really think it’s as bad as this news sounds. Just because he said he thinks one plane is enough doesn’t mean he wants to stop them. However, it should be possible to speed up any permit processes if you want to facilitate.
Then maybe they also don’t do maximum good before there are enough F-16s in Ukraine.

Oh, so I have quoted the newspapers regarding Paludan and they wrote that he incited against Muslims.
I interpreted that since they did not convict for the Quran burnings but that he incited against Muslims, the verdict was justified.

Now that I read the verdict, he has only used the word Islam but the district court considered that he must have meant Muslims so they interpreted it as what he said applied to Muslims.

They have thus attributed to him something he did not say in order to convict him 😲

Think what you want about Paludan and he is absolutely a Putin troll but this law has been twisted a few times to be able to prosecute him, an Al Capone.
