Doing the right thing at the right time, 10 August 2026

As we know, we have followed this war daily since the start of the war in February 2022, every event that we have then discussed in the thread until we fall asleep standing.

Since johanno1.se was created by the hand of God, we also have a free forum where people can have opinions so the discussion becomes a little better than in an echo chamber where everyone says the same thing and dissenting opinions are punished.

We are also independent free thinkers and do not have to twist our creations to fit an agenda – everyone has a common denominator, support Ukraine and that we in Europe avoid world wars.

The only topic that really upsets is Swedish domestic politics or when someone has a different opinion than me.

The longer texts tend to lock onto something and then I run with it for a while, now we have gone through Operation Baltikum and then the hybrid warfare which is increasing as the acute phase in Ukraine became a bit less acute, but we circle back there regularly.

Europe’s reluctance to call a spade a spade would not have been wrong if it were not for the fact that Ukraine is fighting for its country’s survival, then it just becomes submissive and possibly cowardly.

Russia has played its cards and is sweating, the USA has played its hand and is also starting to get a bit sweaty on the forehead and with a darting gaze.

China, where Xi Jinping fired the entire military leadership about a year ago, can at any time slam the cards on the table and so far it is only Europe that sits with a French grin that drives the others crazy and refuse to play their hand.

“It seems a bit overhasty, that’s not how it actually works in the real world” is, as mentioned, mature and responsible as long as no country in our geographical vicinity holds on only with their fingertips and the moment they lose their grip all evil floods in over us.

Then there is also a humanitarian and compassionate aspect to the whole thing and I have long felt that small children as young as five who are violated, tortured and then murdered in front of their parents by laughing Russian soldiers or castration of prisoners of war on film should stir more feelings in Europe than it has, but it does not. Often the response to posts has been, “why do you have to write such things, it makes me feel bad”. Well, it probably does the parents whom the laughing soldiers then let go as well.

The Russian hybrid war is increasing and everything is connected, a hybrid war is not in itself something one stops at but is done for a purpose so the suspicion that Russia intends to escalate is not unfounded at all. Moreover, it is supported by history so our ravings about everyone against Europe are not free fantasies either.

We also have a global escalation running parallel with Russia’s attempts to subdue us where October 7, 2023 was one, and the Iran war another.

How should Europe and the EU act from now on, it is becoming clear that they need tips and coaching so let’s hope everyone has now learned to read us every morning.

Now Europe’s leaders know that state-organized trafficking similar to 2015 has again been activated at a high level, and that Russia is paying people to start forest fires significantly more than the previous year. The number of arrests for arson in continental Europe is absolutely skyrocketing, as if the whole of Gävle is out setting fires now.

They have carried out their first sharp attack against us in Leipzig which was not “drones that went astray” and not a covert attempt either – an open attack that failed to my great Schadenfreude.

The Baltics themselves and quite a few Chiefs of Defense around Europe expect that Russia will try to invade the Baltics even if they do not have the timetable clear. It seems to be like with all difficult messages that you have to add “2-3 years ahead” so it does not hurt too much but then we apparently do nothing instead because we believe we have time on our side, which we do not.

What is Putin doing (then I circle back to what we should do)?

He is like a writhing parasite that needs a host body or a small colorless unimaginative bacterium in the stomach – if you don’t eat for 24 hours it starves out and those who don’t die you take antibiotics against. If, on the other hand, you continue to eat, it just grows and starts becoming power-hungry.

On good grounds, I believe Putin still has the mandate to continue the war but the demands to achieve a result are starting to grow strong.

A hybrid war is not a result at all but a means to try to achieve something.

To achieve something could be to keep the land in Ukraine where they stand today, it could also be that Europe clearly backs down and abandons Ukraine or that Russia takes land in the Baltics and opens a conflict front against us instead – any of these would give Putin a partial victory to dangle so he can maintain trust.

Putin needs to be able to show any success to ensure his political and physical survival.

Ukraine denies him this success but fights for its survival and can collapse into a power struggle at any time. It is much worse than we are led to believe with them and now that we unfortunately have circled back to that they cannot defend themselves against indirect weapons it is a really big negative.

Europe needs to give Ukraine hope and deny Putin his success – then the balloon will deflate quite quickly. Swan Lake in black and white is played on TV and a small short gloomy man hangs upside down in a gas station east of Moscow deeply marinated in diesel.

We have often discussed an after when the balloon has deflated but today’s exercise is concrete measures that Europe should urgently implement today.

  1. Operation Golden Diamond Dome over western Ukraine which is the area west of the Dnieper. Our air defense batteries can be stationed in Poland but we shoot down incoming Russian threats and then give Ukraine the air defense we can spare. Western Ukraine shall be defended is the very clear goal. We justify it by the fact that Russian drones and missiles have started to stray into Eastern Europe and that this is self-defense according to all available legal texts. As evidence, we present all the times Russian drones and missiles have strayed into Eastern Europe.
  2. Operation Secure Border and Anti-Trafficking. Since Europe has now identified that smuggling networks have started to become active and we can no longer stand on the sidelines and watch inhuman human trafficking, we will try to close the only part of the border with Europe that is currently not well managed at all. We take over the Ukrainian border with Belarus with customs officers from France in the French customs uniforms who are not at all from the Foreign Legion which is in Poland.
  3. Operation Voluntary Joyful Expression, every country in Europe agrees that voluntary (humanitarian should be stated) service in the Ukrainian army is an absolute merit and volunteers must not be dismissed from their jobs, receive a market-based salary for risking their lives and a veteran pension after some years of service that increases after two, or something. This is announced in the media as something nice and humanitarian and on the CV one needs to have proven excessive force.
  4. Operation Permanent Large Exercise for Beautiful Peace, during the autumn Europe agrees on an exercise with +30,000 personnel in the Baltics, light infantry that mines the border again and builds fortifications together with all Baltic construction companies with an excavator. The terrain is naturally decisive but they try to get as close to the border as possible and dig down to the earlobes. The exercise is announced for a month and then we just continue in a whirlwind of pretexts. All heavy equipment is kept in the rear and only the logistics with golf carts move forward. We cook up some soup that we also discovered human trafficking there that must be handled and then drone footage clearly shows that we have no offensive equipment within 50km of the border. Every week the media pushes out that this is a humanitarian effort almost under UN auspices to assist those in need, only the UN has not been consulted yet because it was too hastily improvised.

This would give Ukraine hope and they really need it now – more than we actually want to understand. Zelensky has had his worst political crisis since the war began and the shooting is, as always, deadly tired.

Over 4.5 years, we have seen that the only thing Russia does is increase the level of violence if the current level does not yield the desired result, and that the only thing that makes them back down is violence at a higher level than they can handle – it is indisputable that we have seen right into the Russian soul with the above statement.

We also know that if the highest ultra-level of violence does not give the desired result, Russia turns inward and devours itself instead; they managed that three times during the 20th century.

Once Europe has gone through points 1-4, we just pump out a lot of humanitarian sauce about all sorts of things and then remain completely silent. We do not threaten, we do not go on the verbal defense, we do not get upset, we do not get scared – we keep completely silent. That silence will eat Putin from the inside like a malignant osteoarthritis.

The Russian hybrid war will then scream bloody murder and shift into the highest gear – we keep completely silent. Yes, we will miss missiles, terrorist attacks, hybrid attacks, and all sorts of other things, but we will not discuss it with a single word except for crime scene investigations and grinding in court.

All Europe needs to do now is wait, the USA will do everything they can to subdue us, Russia will probably start lobbying missiles into Europe but they cannot physically attack into the EU in any way and seize territory, which is what Putin needs to be able to save his dry, grayish skin.

Ukraine manages to hold out and has gained hope so they start reclaiming their lost territory over time.

With a bit of luck, maybe China will play its cards during this period and then the EU will remain as the grouping in our time’s global conflict that has not had to open the floodgates.

Everyone knows how incredibly well it went for Sweden after we betrayed everyone during WW2, and if the EU manages to balance this tightrope and come out unscathed, we will stand at the top of the hill for the next 100 years before a new global conflict comes when everyone has forgotten this one.

The line is absolutely razor-thin between being a coward who lets others take the full hit because we do not dare to do what is required, doing the right thing, or crossing the line into full bananas dictatorship. Just doing what is required is responsible, but hiding that you are a coward and finding alternative explanations for your position will not get you into heaven, ask Judas.

I see this a bit like the unbearable neighbor you are a little afraid of – if he stands outside your house you can have a discussion, but if he gets into your kitchen and messes around in the fridge, your sense of well-being drops significantly. Now, there were those who thought I was that neighbor, but I have taken that away from them quite harshly and the calm is restored – the food is now delivered to my door instead with deep, ornate bows.

The easiest thing now is to carry out Johan No.1’s checklist during the autumn at suitable times and then wait for the pressure in the Russian samovar to reach boiling point.

When that is done, we handle the outcome, and if we manage to get a demilitarized Kaliningrad and a Belarus in the EU – what a win.

Now back to my hobbyhorse of increasing the paid subscriptions on my Substack and donations to MXT at johanno1.se. The name is misleading but it is MXT who runs and pays for the site out of his own pocket, and since he constantly operates as a lone rider on the brink of seizure, the hours he chooses to spend on the site, driven by passion, are hours he could have spent doing something else.

That we spend half of our time criticizing each other is called deterrence balance, I believe, and is apparently a natural law.

If you read all the long posts repeatedly and/or scroll through the thread comments on johanno1.se daily, you should definitely consider a monthly donation. On Substack it is 80 SEK per month if you click the button, and something similar probably works on johanno1.se I guess.

The time spent on this is astronomical and unpaid, but we are passionate that the good should come out on top and are completely independent. Yes, sometimes there are detours, but if you have followed the posts since 2022, you know that much of what was discussed early on later happened and that many suspicions and guesses hit right on target. There was a period in 2024 and after when Zelensky and others started speaking out of pure frustration, and if you remember, I posted some self-praising posts, but the feeling of having guessed right when everyone said “you are completely wrong” took over temporarily before I regained self-control.

Unfortunately, I am far ahead on the curve so no one is interested in publishing the texts, and when things we have written about happen, there is a whole grandstand of analysts and public faces who immediately recalibrate and get to spread out during prime time on Hajk – this forum is what is interesting to write in, and johanno1.se is where I hang out all day to steal ideas for the next post.

As a bonus, we have also agreed not to sink into domestic politics, which we are probably the only ones abstaining from right now – so you can pay to avoid being drowned in election propaganda, and that alone is quite attractive, right?

Regarding support for Ukraine, you can vote however you want since all parliamentary parties since 2022 have made the right decision; I have really delved into that and there was no dirty laundry to drag out.

Don't forget to donate, Ukraine's cause is ours! Support Ukraine!

  2. When you have swished, you bounce on to a sofa called “tack” in the address bar, but it doesn’t seem to exist on the server because I only end up on a corresponding 404 page.

    1. Thanks for the donation by the way! It arrived as it should even though the thank you page was acting up.

I have checked the instructions at Swish.

It has been a while since I set it up now. I thought they might have added something about needing to prepare a thank you page.

Can’t find anything at all about it being necessary. If it were, it would probably also require specifying the address of the thank you page so that their app can return to it, but there is no field to enter that either.

The only thing you do yourself is to upload the generated image with the QR code, or alternatively write out the Swish number.

I suspect it must have been Swish that had problems so that it was their thank you page that was acting up.

      But I will investigate further!

  3. When I read about the IRA in yesterday’s thread, I asked myself: Have they gone and become a Farc guerrilla light? Thrown ideological thoughts overboard and become a drug cartel?
