Russia continues to attack Kyiv – Russian losses

Russia launched another drone attack on Kyiv for the third day in a row. A drone hit, among other things, an uninhabited residential building and a department store, both of which caught fire. One person is reported injured, but it is still early in the day and that number may be adjusted later. Kyiv Independent.

Operational information as of 08:00 on September 27, 2026, regarding the Russian invasion

The 1677th day of the Russian Federation’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun.

In the past 24 hours, a total of 221 combat engagements were recorded.
Yesterday, the enemy carried out 90 airstrikes, during which 289 guided aerial bombs were dropped. In addition, the attackers used 10,489 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,729 shellings against communities and our troops’ positions, of which 26 were with rocket artillery.

Hostile shelling affected, among others, the communities of Bezsalivka, Korenok, Rohizne, Tovstodubove, Potapivka, Sopych, Kucherivka, Fotovyzh, Yastrubshchyna, Bachivsk, Shpyl, Hirky, Havrylova Sloboda, Starykove, Prohres, and Nova Huta in the Sumy region, as well as Buchky in the Chernihiv region. Sukhodil was subjected to an airstrike.

In the past 24 hours, the defense forces’ aviation, missile units, and artillery struck four command and control points for unmanned aerial vehicles, two artillery systems, and four important logistical enemy targets.

On the northern Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, a hostile assault attempt was recorded in the past 24 hours. The attacker conducted an airstrike with two guided aerial bombs and 51 shellings against our troops’ positions and communities.

On the southern Slobozhansky sector, Ukrainian units repelled four enemy attacks. The attackers tried to advance towards the communities of Ternova, Kozacha Lopan, and Lyman.

On the Kupyansk sector, the enemy attempted three times to improve their positions through assault operations towards Kupyansk, Radkivka, and Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi.

Attempts to break into our defense were repelled on the Lyman sector, where the occupiers carried out 12 attacks towards the communities of Novoselivka, Drobysheve, Lyman, Dibrova, Stavky, and Cherneshchyna.

On the Sloviansk sector, the enemy conducted five assault attempts in the areas around Kryva Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and Mykolaivka.

On the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy attacked once towards Kostiantynivka.

On the Kostiantynivka sector, according to updated information, 26 attacks were recorded. The attackers conducted assault operations in the area around Kostiantynivka and towards Illinivka, Torske, Rusyn Yar, Pryiut, Shakhove, Vilne, Stepy, and Kucheriv Yar.

On the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy carried out 26 attacks. According to updated information, the occupiers tried to advance towards the communities of Dorozhnie, Hannivka, Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Dobropillia, Svitlé, Hulive, Serhiivka, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, Krasnopodillia, and Novopavlivka.

On the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy attacked twice towards Voskresenka and Berezove.

On the Huljajpole sector, the occupiers attacked our defenders’ positions six times. The enemy tried to advance towards the communities of Kosivtseve, Vozdvyzhivka, Rivne, and Hirke.

On the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attempted once to improve their positions towards Mala Tokmachka.

On the Prydniprovsk sector, the occupiers conducted no assault operations.

On the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs have been detected that the enemy is forming offensive groupings.

Updated information: Total Russian attacker losses in the past 24 hours amounted to 1,690 personnel. In addition, eight tanks, seven armored combat vehicles, 57 artillery systems, three rocket artillery systems, four air defense systems, 14 ground-based missile systems, 1,826 unmanned aerial vehicles, 517 vehicles, and seven units of special equipment were neutralized.

Unfortunately, the number of drones is now again above 10,000; the decrease we saw was probably temporary. We will see how it looks in the coming days.
87 localized attacks out of a total of 221 leaves 134 unlocalized, giving a ratio of 134 / 87 ≈ 1.54.

    RU is getting beaten now.

    I’ll say it again – RU is trying to reinforce the Lyman area.

    They are retreating on a +70km wide front.

    These reinforcements must try to move in by road.

    UA has medium-range drones and the FPV umbrella.

    and they are hopefully just waiting for these snakes of very easy targets.

    So what you are about to see is the first picture of how this will play out in several places until RU has had enough.

    They probably do not have full-fledged drone defense with them – high probability of that.

    They are now within RU’s decision circle.

    The beginning of the start of the end with a bit of luck.

    UA is located 16km from Svatove, which is a central supply hub for the entire Donetsk.

    So I guess RU will try to defend northern Luhansk

      This is a recurring issue where people respond in yesterday’s thread. Especially since the lottery numbers are posted there and start a discussion. I like it when today’s article is early; really, only the lottery numbers are needed, the rest can be added gradually.

      Then there might be completely different ways to solve the problem if you think about it a bit. Maybe there is some way to make comments written today visible in a good way.

        On the right panel, there is an attempt to capture unread comments on older pages “Pages with unread comments” where you can see if you have missed anything (what is shown in the list is therefore unique for each visitor).

        One problem, of course, is that it does not sync between different platforms if you are not logged in. If you read one day on the mobile and the next day on the computer, it does not become quite correct, but if you always make sure to be logged in, it works better. 

        By the way, considering hiding the archive and maybe the latest posts. I don’t think that many actually use it, and then it just takes up space.

          Maybe a notification is enough when someone has replied to your post. Then you can always see if someone replied in an old thread and finish a conversation you have with someone. However, you probably won’t get rid of the right column as long as the donation banner is there.

            Did not aim to remove the high column, more the idea was to remove things that are not used anyway.

            The difficult part with a notification about someone replying is knowing if the person who received the notification actually noticed it. It’s not certain that they care enough to respond.

            What I can track is if someone has visited the page where the comment is located.

    Several men have been arrested following a “major incident” at the American airbase RAF Fairford near the village of Whelford in the United Kingdom, reports Sky News.
    The arrested men are suspected of violating the Explosive Substances Act, and bomb experts are examining vehicles near the base. Residents in the area have been evacuated.
    The police are otherwise sparing with details about the incident but state in a statement that they want to assure the public that they assess the situation to be under control.

      Historically, I would argue that the Russians have been ahead of us in the West in math. I base this on a Russian professor I had in math. He talked about how superior the Russian school system was and that students started solving quadratic equations already in elementary school.

      True or not, the Russians I have met have been sharp in math. That is probably going to change now with that attitude towards education. One step closer to a developing country.

      Wonder how more expensive bus passes might affect things? They have only been additionally subsidized since June. Hardly increases the monthly cost compared to a year ago.

    Well, MXT since democracy wanted high costs, we now get that but it will probably be Ulf’s fault anyway.

    Or we won’t get a government so everything runs free and then it will be even worse.
