Russia has sent approximately 800 jet-powered drones against Ukraine in the past four days – Russian losses, etc.

Zelensky made a statement yesterday where he stated that Russia has sent about 800 Russian jet-powered drones against Ukraine and the attacks have since continued and are now in their fifth day. Russia has implemented a tactical change and is now also attacking Kyiv with drones during daytime, which has led to constant readiness with continuous air raid alarms. Zelensky also mentioned that both homes, businesses, and other civilian infrastructure have been affected by the attacks.

The Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal has urged the House of Representatives to quickly approve the proposal for expanded sanctions against Russia as work in the House resumes after the summer. He said, among other things, “This is a moment of extreme urgency, because (Russia’s President Vladimir) Putin may try to escalate.” We will see what comes of that. It has been proposed for a long time now.

Russian losses in Ukraine

Again, high losses overall but perhaps mainly regarding dead and wounded Russian soldiers.
Mediazona together with the BBC have reported their latest statistics on confirmed dead Russian soldiers, which now amount to 242,747.
They review Russian media such as obituaries, social media posts, etc. The figure covers from the start of the war until 27/8. They admit that the real numbers are probably much higher. Article about it at Kyiv Independent.
