Lite goda nyheter har vi i allafall från Ukraina att börja veckan med. Man brygger sig en kopp kaffe, säger till chefen att man måste fundera på hur problemet skall lösas och sen tar man en halvtimme att läsa inlägget – fungerar varje gång tills chefen kommer på att han aldrig nämnt något problem så det gäller att variera sig lite, oförutsägbart är alltid bäst.
Ukraina skall själva få tillverka ASTER (ballistisk interceptor) och Storm Shadow. Eftersom vi i Europa inte klarar av att skala upp tillverkningen nämvärt har nu sent omsider rätt beslut fattats. Vi gick igenom ASTER för ett tag sedan om ni minns.
Om man får gissa har Ukraina redan demonterat några interceptorer och robotar, tillverkat maskinerna och väntar bara på att lagligen få tillverka dom. 3D printrarna väntar på ritningarna.
Aster kommer väl ersätta Patriot helt i Europa om nåt år när Ukraina spottar ut tusentals, och Storm Shadow blir go-to roboten för wetworks.
Nu behöver vi såklart tiden men UA vapenindustri jobbar på 25% kapacitet just nu enligt dom själva och det sitter 200mrdr eur frysta oligarkpesetas i banker i Belgien som alla nu verkar vara överens på ett eller annat sätt skall till Ukraina förutom dom jävla belgarna.
Lite som när man väntar på att en gejser ska explodera i Yellowstone ungefär, vi var faktiskt där nångång men gejsrarna hade tagit helg, men vi blev jagade av en stor bisonoxe.
Vi är i ett race med Kina som försöker pallra upp Ryssland motsvarande så bra om det här kommer igång nu.
Allt annat tillverkas väl så det där var de två stora bromsklossarna och spetsflyget kan dom inte 3D printa fram eller bocka till i garage ännu på nåt halvår.

Nu var han så pass dum att han dels djupmarinerade oss i uppenbart hybridkrig samtidigt som han behöver vänta på Dumavalet 20-21 September vilket gav oss tiden att komma i ordning.
Hade han inte gjort det och istället kört in sina två sysslolösa armékårer rakt genom Baltikum föranlett av infiltration på djupet helt utan förvarning hade vi haft ett fate-compli att ta ställning till istället med alla möjliga attraktiva vägar att backa ur för fred i vår tid, speciellt när alla sitter i skärgårdesstugan och dricker rosévin mitt i djupaste semestern.
Det här kommer historikerna bråka om nästkommande 40år i vanlig ordning och bli snorrika på sina böcker där dom snott 90% av materialet från johanno1.se.

I det tysta, på grund av strikt OPSEC, genomför nu Ukraina offensiva operationer på flertalet platser inom ramen för kårernas geografiska områden och mandat gissar jag?
Nån stor övergripande strategisk offensiv typ korsa Dnepr eller genombrott skulle vi höra om på dagen, det här är armékårerna som genomför operationer över lång tid.
Vi förleds av OPSEC att tro att det inte händer så mycket men Ukrainas armékårer genomför nu alltså offensiva operationer på många platser – sommaroffensiven 2026.
Till exempel fartygen i Svarta Havet, det tog aldrig slut men UA slutade rapportera om det och dom sänker flytetyg varje dag.
Andra vi diskuterat är nere vid Kamyanske och sen har väl ryska 90th TD en tuff period också. Skall vara några till dom håller tyst om men det kommer väl ut så småningom.
Nu har Drapatyi iallafall fattat rätt beslut tidigt och Donetsk-fronten skall delas upp i två ”armégrupper” där Prokopenko (1st Azov) och Biletskyi (3rd AC) får chefa över varsin gruppering.

Dom går alltså ifrån kårchefer till militärområdeschefer vid östfronten och får ett stort område vardera med förmodade brigader och kanske armékårer underställda sig?

Ett bättre beslut får man leta efter, bägge har stridit som gudar från grupp, pluton, kompani, bataljon, brigad och nu sist armékår, Prokopenko har väl dessutom varit krigsfånge?
Dom har spridit sin kompetens genom att anställa dugliga truppchefer under sig och rekryteringen har varit frivillig hela kriget. Både 3rd Assault Brigade och Azov var extremt tidiga med svåra moment som drönarkrigföring, värnresning och mekanfall.
Genom hela kriget har dom stridit med det dom har, löst uppgiften där andra hade känt att dom hade för lite. Aldrig backat för en fajt, gladeligen hjälpt till vid de svåraste områdena och alltid försökt få mer autonomi och självbestämmande för bästa möjliga strid.
Dessa två gick aldrig att kontrollera för tidigare ÖB så pass stor var deras legendstatus, att man nu ger dom totalansvar för hela Donetsk är förmodligen Putins värsta mardröm.
Förvänta er en flodvåg av anti-nazistpropaganda från RU för det här gillade dom inte.
Sen gör dom en ställföreträdande Air Assault-kårchef till övergripande chef för Slovyansk-Kramatorsks försvar, förmodligen också ypperligt slugt att man bryter ut själva försvarsstriden av fästningsområdet till egen truppchef.

Sen skall Zelensky förstärka Zaporizha, bra bra för Azovstöten är lite försenad efter den tidsplan jag gav honom tidigare. På våra projekt blir det liquidated damages för sånt men jag har inte åberopat det ännu i mitt kontrakt med Ukraina.
Läget är som alltid svårt men Ukraina går framåt varje dag, dom har inte hela initiativet och dom bryter inte igenom på djupet men det här går inte speciellt bra alls för Putin nu som mest får ta emot våldsamma örfilar just nu.

51st CAA är andra arméstaben på nån månad och man klipper till när det är stabsmöte för maximal glädje. Utan arméstab blir det tyst i fältapan och ni vet alla hur mycket initativ en rysk truppchef själv vågar ta.
Ja, Putin kan öka insatserna med mobilisering, robotar och kanske taktiska kärnvapen men utöver det sitter han bara och tar emot stryk nu. Ukraina lovar ”nuclear dust” som svar på kärnvapen, lite byggdamm från nåt kärnkraftverk blandat med svartkrut och levererat med drönare över Moskva – ett vettigt svar tycker jag som dom låtit olika sakkunniga i media resonera kring.
Europa har helt vänt sig mot honom och det är lite Trump kan göra, dessutom satte USA ned foten inför Putins planer på ett stor-Baltikum – Deepstate bröt sig ur förtrollningen.
Nu vill vi se en våldsam drönarkampanj mot Östersjön under några månader tillsammans med alla mål i området upp mot Baltikum – det vore bra.
Östersjön är nästan löjligt lugnt när vi vet hur skicket är på ryska svartahavsflottan, och att dom ligger efter i Östersjön i förberedelser då dom varit fredade.
Kaliningrad kan Ukraina också få ge sig på, varför inte skjuta in Storm Shadow och franska hammers där för att markera lite?
Roar man sig under två veckor med att slå ut allt luftvärn och radar drar det väl ned boxershortsen rejält på Putin?
Jo, jag vet att Burnham säger mycket men att UK också har en gräns fortfarande, drömma får man en Måndag.
Faktum är att 2-3st ukrainska brigader mellan Rezekhne – Tartu nog skulle bygga den tröskel Putin inte vill se?

Men…
Ukraina orsakar skada på riktigt nu och oviljan att kriga för armén och oviljan att se sin tillvaro raseras för medborgarna skall inte underskattas.
Putin kan hantera maktstrider, det grips eller mördas ränksmidare hela tiden och ett par till bara för att ta de säkra före det osäkra.
Det enda han och hans medbrottslingar är livrädda för är att tappa kontrollen över armén eller folklig resning – det kan ingen ledare någonsin hantera.
Kommer vi dit – mobilisering är ett ypperligt första steg och det har suttit långt inne för Putin, vi diskuterade detta redan hösten 2022.
600 000st under vapen är lika många vapen som kan vändas emot honom, och det är siffran som flyger runt nu på numerären som skall mobiliseras med början i höst.
Putin behöver visa upp en seger rätt snart och därför kommer han eskalera men det är en enorm risk speciellt med Ukraina som för fullt assymetriskt krig. Dudajev har redan förutsett detta.
Klarar Europa bara av att balansera detta nu bör vi komma dit men varje svårt beslut vi tar nu kommer få konsekvenser för kommande generationer.
Norden är allmänt ansedda att stå enade och vara helt beredda att ta fajten mot Ryssland om det behövs. Sverige som land ligger i topp i stöd per capita och dessutom har vi försett Ukraina med krigets bästa vapen – Archer, robot 15, Gripen, Carl Gustaf, Strf90, SB90, Strv 122.
Det är bra, mycket bra, övervåldsbra.

I agree that a general mobilization could make the Russian people protest against the war. Add to that longer and longer gas queues that make life a living hell for the Russians.
After all, it is the people of Russia who must put their foot down. Preferably both feet. I believe we will get there in due time.
Johan is also right that Sweden has sent top-class equipment plus all humanitarian aid. Sweden has no reason to be ashamed. One suggestion: We will soon have 4 newly built frigates. Donate them to Ukraine. They would probably be well suited for the Black Sea.

The 1651st day of the Russian Federation’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun.
In the past day, a total of 210 combat engagements were recorded.
Yesterday, the enemy carried out 93 airstrikes, during which 319 guided aerial bombs were dropped. Additionally, the attackers used 10,947 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,872 shellings against communities and our troops’ positions.
In the Sumy region, the communities of Mala Korchakivka, Yastrubshchyna, Pysarivka, Kucherivka, Ulanove, and Bachivsk were subjected to hostile artillery fire. Additionally, the area around Korenok was hit by an airstrike.
In the past day, the defense forces’ aviation, missile units, and artillery struck three areas with concentrations of enemy personnel, one artillery system, three command posts for unmanned aerial vehicles, and a communications node.
In the northern Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, the enemy conducted no assault operations in the past day.
In the southern Slobozhansky sector, Ukrainian units repelled 16 enemy attacks. The attackers attempted to advance in the areas around Starytsia and Vovchanski Khutory, as well as in the direction of Chuhunivka, Khatnie, Mala Vovcha, Dovhenke, and Okhrimivka.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy attacked once in the direction of Hlushkivka.
Attempts to break through our defense were repelled in the Lyman sector, where the occupiers conducted six attacks in the areas around Dibrova and Stavky, as well as in the direction of Novoselivka and Drobysheve.
In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy made two assault attempts in the area around Ozerne and in the direction of Kryva Luka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy conducted no assault operations in the past day.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, 20 attacks were recorded. The attackers carried out assault operations in the areas around Kostiantynivka and Illinivka, as well as in the direction of Novoselivka and Pavlivka.
The highest number of assault attempts was recorded in the Pokrovsk sector, where our defenders stopped 45 attacks. The enemy was active in the areas around Bilytske, Serhiivka, and Udachne, and also conducted assaults in the direction of Sofiivka, Vilne, Kucheriv Yar, Dorozhnie, Stepy, Shevchenko, Vasylivka, Muravka, Novopavlivka, Hannivka, and Dobropillia.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy conducted no assault operations in the past day.
In the Huljajpole sector, the occupiers attacked six times in the direction of Kosivtseve, Vozdvyzhivka, and Tsvitkove.
In the Orikhiv sector, our defenders stopped an enemy attempt to advance in the direction of Mala Tokmachka.
In the Prydniprovsk sector, the enemy conducted no assault operations in the past day.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs have been detected that the enemy is forming offensive force groupings.
The Ukrainian defenders continue the systematic combat against the enemy and effectively resist on all front sectors.
In total, the Russian attackers’ losses in the past day amounted to 1,440 personnel. Additionally, four tanks, two armored combat vehicles, 71 artillery systems, 10 ground-based missile systems, 1,775 unmanned aerial vehicles, 412 vehicles, two units of special equipment, and one heavy flamethrower system were neutralized.

”Can hours spent playing the computer game Counterstrike become an asset for Sweden’s total defense? In a new project, the Stockholm School of Economics and FMV are testing whether gamers have an advantage when training the drone pilots of the future.

Carl-Oskar Bohlin grabs the game controller, which looks like it belongs to a regular game console. On the screen in front of the Minister for Civil Defense is a virtual Stockholm. The mission in the simulator is to fly a drone from the Stockholm School of Economics to Stadion and find a child reported missing.
Just over two minutes later, the mission is completed.
– The controls are very sensitive. Difficult, but very interesting, says Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M).
Then it’s the experienced gamer’s turn. He sits down in front of the same screen, with his cap on backwards – and fails the mission.
This may not be the perfect demonstration of the idea that has brought together the minister, the Armed Forces, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), and researchers at the Stockholm School of Economics this afternoon.
The idea is that gamers may have qualities that make them particularly suited to flying drones.
– We have a very large cohort of people who grew up during the time when conscription was abolished. I wouldn’t say they are lost from a total defense perspective, says Faruk Pita.
Learning from Ukraine
He is a former professional Counterstrike player, now head coach of the Swedish Counterstrike national team. The computer game is one of the world’s largest, and involves two teams trying to outsmart and shoot each other. The idea for the project “Gamers as a societal resource” was born when he was studying at the Stockholm School of Economics.

According to Pita, gamers train, among other things, hand-eye coordination and the ability to quickly perceive what is happening in a digital environment. In addition, they are used to computers and complex control systems. Now he wants to investigate whether these qualities can be used outside the gaming world.
The first area is drones.
Experiences from the war in Ukraine have indicated that people with a gaming background easily become skilled drone pilots. In Estonia, efforts are underway to train large groups of civilians in drone use.
Faruk Pita refers to a study from the US Air Force showing that gamers performed better than fighter pilots on certain tasks relevant to flying drones. No major Swedish study has yet been conducted, but the plan is to do so within the framework of the project.
– This is when we get started, says Martin Carlsson-Wall, professor at the Stockholm School of Economics.

He compares the project to the school’s incubator for startup companies.
– Why do we only have incubators for business ideas, and not for ideas that are good for society?
FMV simulates drone warfare
After smaller internal trials, FMV’s hypothesis is that people with gaming experience learn to use drone simulators faster. Especially when it comes to more advanced missions, where they, for example, include electronic warfare and other obstacles that force the drone pilot to make quick decisions.
– The basic principle is the same as for gamers, it’s joysticks and some buttons. If you have a gaming background, you pick it up quickly, says Diego Catalan Canales, systems engineer at FMV.

Today FMV uses simulators developed by a drone pilot from Ukraine. There are both simpler versions, like the one the minister tested, and more advanced ones.
– We have a version where you have a virtual drone but sit with a laptop out in the forest and the real terrain is loaded in so you get to drive in it, says Rebecca Walin, systems engineer at FMV.
“On the rise”
Carl-Oskar Bohlin says he sees great potential in the project and draws parallels to the Moderates’ proposal to create a drone defense. The idea is that it should protect critical infrastructure and population centers against hostile drones.
– To utilize a competence that exists, make small modifications and implement it somewhere where it is of great benefit to society and total defense. That is an example of Swedish innovation power that is very interesting, he says.
Why hasn’t Sweden’s military and civilian defense progressed further regarding the use of drones?
– I would say we are on the rise. We see how the rescue service is starting to use drones. We see how police drone use is increasing. We naturally see how drone use in the Armed Forces is increasing. Now we are starting to bring it all together.
Faruk Pita’s ambition goes even further than finding some future drone pilots. He refers to when Counterstrike player William Sundin competed in robot surgery against a surgeon. Sundin had received 30 minutes of training in the tool while the surgeon had performed 2,000 operations. It ended in a draw.
– My dream scenario is that in a few years we have a large group of Swedes whose gamer skills can be used by authorities in crises.”

Russia’s new drones are twice as fast as the old ones. And now they often strike during the daytime against Ukraine’s capital. Air raid alarms can sound at any time, around the clock – just as children start the autumn term.
“Many feel that this is a situation we have not been in before in Kiev,” says Daniel Wallinder from the Red Cross.

The change came about a week ago. From mostly attacking at night, Russia now sends bomb drones around the clock. And the new Geran-4 model is jet-powered, meaning it flies at 500 kilometers per hour – too fast for many of Ukraine’s defense systems.
“I have lived here for a year and a half now, and it’s like a different… feeling, I would say,” says Daniel Wallinder, head of the Swedish Red Cross in Ukraine.
“Many here have started developing more stress reactions. My Ukrainian teacher, for example, has an eight-year-old son. For the first time since the war began, this boy cried during an attack.”
“It was the same explosions, the same sounds they have heard so many times before. But this time it just became emotionally too much.”
Wallinder also travels to cities closer to the front, such as Sumy and Kharkiv, where schools have previously moved much of their activities underground. But in the multi-million city of Kiev, most schools have not had time to plan for the new situation. When the autumn term starts this week, they have to handle the air raid alarms like everyone else.
“I’m thinking about preschools, for example, they might have a group of 40 small children that the teachers need to dress, go outside and then down into a shelter or the subway.”

With the jet-powered drones, the time available has also become shorter.
“It might be 10–15 minutes. Before, we had longer warning.”
Adding to the fear is that ballistic missiles can also come. They are rarer – because they are much more advanced and expensive for Russia to use – but an even worse threat.
“When it comes to ballistic missiles, there might be one or two minutes warning. If any at all,” says Wallinder.
“Sometimes you hear the explosions before the air raid alarm can sound.”
The question is whether the latest attack patterns are temporary or a new normal.
“It is a big adjustment if we have to think about, do we need to build underground schools in Kiev too, or how do we adapt.”
A quick measure is that children can sit at home and be taught digitally, but that also has its downsides.
“It’s tricky, many children are forced to be home alone maybe a whole school day because their parents are working,” says Daniel Wallinder.”
