Russian air defense has hit residential buildings in Russian Rostov

Ukraine attacked Rostov last night and according to eyewitnesses, a Russian air defense missile hit a residential building when they tried to stop the drones. The mayor of Rostov claims that it was debris from Ukrainian drones and it is also said that a man died in connection with the fire that broke out. Rumors also suggest that an industrial building caught fire in connection with the attacks. Read more at Kyiv Independent, there is a video from Rostov here, and another one here.

Russian losses in the war in Ukraine

For the second day in a row, there are reports of large numbers of UAVs. Yesterday we had 933 units, which was the second-highest during the entire war, and today there are 1074 units, which is a new record. It is of course good that Ukraine manages to combat the enormous amounts, but unfortunately, it also means that Russia’s nightly terror attacks continue to increase.

  • 990 KWIA
  • 6 Tanks
  • 3 AFVs
  • 74 Artillery systems
  • 3 MLRS
  • 5 Anti-Aircraft systems
  • 1074 UAVs
  • 8 Cruise missiles
  • 232 Vehicles and Fuel tanks

Here is a more detailed overview of the Russian losses in Ukraine.

Russian activities

Yesterday set a new record for the number of Russian suicide drones on the front (7,919), and today we have a new record again. The war in Ukraine has completely changed how wars are fought. Russia has previously relied on a massive numerical advantage, primarily in terms of artillery but also in terms of soldiers and armor. Today we see that artillery attacks are slowly decreasing, instead, it is the FPV-type suicide drones that are increasingly used at the front line and for the nightly attacks in depth in Ukraine. Shahed drones (which are also a type of suicide drone) are used to target civilian objectives.

  • 141 battles
  • 42 Airstrikes (including 24 drones)
  • 78 KAB
  • 3,768 Artillery attacks, 74 from MLRS
  • 7,967 Suicide drones

  1. Ukraine neutralized 90 out of 116 in last night’s attack.
89 out of 113 drones (Shaheds etc).
1 out of 3 ballistic missiles (Iskander)

  2. USA – Denmark

“The USA is conducting a hybrid war against Denmark. That’s according to André Ken Jakobsson, who researches hybrid warfare issues at the University of Southern Denmark, to Danish Radio.

Hybrid warfare aims to achieve political goals without using traditional military attacks. According to Jakobsson, this definition corresponds well to the current situation in the relationship between the USA, Denmark, and Greenland.

Among other things, he mentions the CIA’s intensified intelligence gathering from Greenland, threats from President Donald Trump to use military means, and promises of economic compensation to the Greenlandic population.”

    1. “…the threats from Trump to use military force and promises of economic compensation to the Greenlandic population.”
Now the USA has truly turned back the clock to the 1830s. When various presidents (read Andrew Jackson) tricked the land from the Indians, sorry, indigenous peoples, in exchange for economic compensation.
Now we are just waiting for Trump and his cronies to bring out the “Indian Removal Act” and forcibly relocate the Greenlanders to where they are least in the way.
The rhetoric and threats (carrot and stick) are the same now as they were back then.

  3. noteworthy about drones both at the front and over Ukraine in general.

Off-topic and regarding Iran 🇮🇷, and as I wrote yesterday, a good opportunity to enhance Sweden’s brand among the Iranian population, a brand that is currently (unlike the Iranian population right now) dressed in a veil. Sending a squadron or whatever JAS to join forces with American and British counterparts is absolutely not prohibited – it’s not like the USA and the UK have the sole right to uphold the Responsibility to Protect, the third pillar of R2P. International law does not prohibit it. On the contrary, international law mandates it. R2P does not specify countries or even mention the USA under Trump, but speaks of the international community. I assume Sweden is part of this? Or are we still ashamed because we sent troops to Bosnia and planes to Libya, soldiers to Iraq? What is the problem? Have technical issues been discovered with JAS? Can’t we transport ourselves there through air refueling as the British and Americans seem to do? Or do we just want to stand aside and condemn those who actually take action because we are ashamed that we didn’t take our responsibility?

Don’t give the Trump card to the USA as the only nation fulfilling R2P!

Let the jet streams from JAS blow away the veils!

    1. The last sentence sounded a bit poetic. Well formulated.
In the last two or three months, various representatives of the government, as well as the opposition and Zelenskyj, have stated that the Gripen should go to Ukraine. Two days ago, even Ukraine’s ambassador said the same thing.
Perhaps the Gripen is in Ukraine?🤨

      1. Thank you, Proxima ☺️, no there is probably no shortage in demand for JAS if you look, on the other hand, a shortage of supply as you say. At the same time, Iran is a key supporter of Russia and the country’s invasion of Ukraine and the question is – in today’s drone-focused battlefield, where drones not only take over artillery as MXT suggests above, but also stand for air superiority – where JAS is most useful right now – for Sweden and our security, for Ukraine and its security, and for the international order at large. Imagine if Iran could become an ally to Ukraine, instead of an antagonist – that would be a major turnaround!

  4. “Explosions in Kyiv as Russia’s relentless assault on energy infrastructure continues amid freezing temperatures

Explosions rang out on a Wednesday morning in central Kyiv as Russia ramps up its drone and missile attacks on the city’s power and heating infrastructure, taking advantage of the freezing temperature outside in an attempt to break Ukrainians’ morale.

  5. Completely OT….. has anyone heard anything about new released Epstein files or read anything about that issue since T kidnapped M? He does everything to make the media find something else to write about, for example Greenland….
These are such strange times we live in, can’t all the old men who should be retired disappear from power and let more sensible people lead their respective countries. I’m so tired of reading and hearing about oppression and threats in all their forms every day. Seriously, I am really worried about what kind of world my grandchildren will grow up in, and it’s not the climate change that I see as the major threat.
I’m not religious, but the Ten Commandments are good rules to live by and the world would probably be a better place if everyone did so, including those who swear the presidential oath with their hand near a Bible.

  6. Yes – a limited attack against the power structure and oppressive structure in Iran is justified and what the USA/Israel will carry out.

Apparently, Israel/MENA has asked the USA to wait a bit so they are trying to do the right thing.

Everything is already in place, the days of the mullahs’ power are numbered.

It might be that the people will win on their own and that would be optimal.

But 20,000 murdered is a lot of violence…

Yes, everyone around is working on the army switching sides and maybe it will happen first?

    1. Yes, something is definitely going on.

People know that if they back down now, the oppression and arbitrary killings will only increase to Stalinist proportions.

  7. Off-topic, Greenland 🇬🇱 .

    ✍️anno1540 x

Europe — even right-wing parties — is united: Greenland is not for sale. This isn’t ideology. It’s sovereignty.

Denmark and Greenland’s leaders are clear: Any U.S. attempt to take Greenland would shatter allied trust and undermine NATO itself.

France, Germany, and EU lawmakers are already discussing countermeasures — trade pressure, diplomatic costs, and security consequences if Washington pushes this.

This is a red line. Europe will not normalize territorial ambition from anyone.

  8. Much is at stake today.
If NATO falls apart and the USA gets a sensible president in three years, can NATO get a new chance then? Actually, I doubt it.

    1. Maybe, but not as long as the president has that much power.

They should realize by now that the presidential power should be limited. It works with a strong president as long as the president has a certain amount of common sense, but it has now been shown that sometimes they vote in a dud, and that’s not good.

    1. Well, at some point the military must also face the limit.

Trump and Hegseth probably think they have the army in their pocket, but the army has sworn allegiance to the constitution, not the president, so they might be in for a surprise.

  9. A SILENT protest in ryZzkland would be if everyone who has a relative who died in the war wears a black armband for mourning! Can we get everyone to do that so the ryZzians see the misery #fckptn creates?

      1. The meeting ended. Took 50 minutes. Thought it would be 15 minutes max when the USA now has long-distance guests that they want to treat condescendingly.
Hope the table had extra reinforcement underneath so Løkke Rasmussen could slam his fist on the table before he left. 🇩🇰

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) sharply criticized White House senior adviser Stephen Miller on Wednesday after Mr. Miller suggested Greenland rightfully belongs to the U.S., calling the claim “absurd” and warning that it undermines relations with NATO allies.

“This is amateurish behavior with respect to the treatment of our NATO allies,” Sen. Tillis said, adding that while the remarks may reflect the president’s views, they do not represent Congress.

“You don’t speak on behalf of this U.S. senator or the Congress,” he said. “We are a coequal branch.”
Sen. Tillis described the Greenland discussion as a “distraction from the good work [the president’s] doing,” adding that he is “sick of stupid.”

“I want good advice for this president because I want this president to have a good legacy,” he said.

  11. There’s too much going on at once now, I can’t keep up…

By the way – did someone say we were supposed to go up on the global escalation?

Probably didn’t expect it to be the USA.

  12. The Iranian-flagged bulk carrier RONA sank in the Caspian Sea.

The RONA regularly sailed between Iranian and Russian ports. This route coincides with the main route for Iranian arms shipments to Russia.

  13. So, it’s time again:

    From SVT:
    “Trump: Putin ready for peace
It is Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky, not Russia’s Vladimir Putin, who is standing in the way of a peace agreement, says US President Donald Trump.”

Will Europe continue to keep a good face and play along, or is it time to tell the orange to go jump in the lake?
