  1. For several hours, drones exhausted the air defense system in the Krasnodar Krai. Explosions were heard in Krasnodar, Novorossiysk, Gelendzhik, Slavyansk-on-Kuban, Sochi, Anapa, Tuapse, and Adygea. The result of the attack is currently unknown.”

  2. Better late than never, might as well give them some credit for at least admitting that they have been naive in the past and not trying to shift the blame.

“Västerås municipality wants to close a Russian Orthodox church located in a forest grove near Västerås airport. This is reported by DN.

Now the municipality has applied to expropriate the building – which was erected with financial assistance from Russia – with the justification that the church constitutes a security threat.

The chairman of the municipal executive board, Staffan Jansson (S), was part of the building committee when the building permit for the church was granted in 2017, but now supports the expropriation.

    – We made the decision in ignorance back then, he tells the newspaper.

The government will now decide whether expropriation violates freedom of religion.” https://omni.se/ryska-kyrkan-ses-som-sakerhetsrisk-okunskap/a/8pQWgA https://www.dn.se/sverige/rysk-ortodoxa-kyrkan-som-kommunen-vill-stanga/

  3. “Satellite images of secret Chinese facilities show that China is working hard to expand its nuclear capacity, reports the New York Times. According to the newspaper’s analysis, several facilities for the production of plutonium cores for nuclear warheads have been modernized or expanded in recent years.

Intelligence expert Renny Babiarz says that the upgrade is in line with China’s ambitions to become a global superpower.

    – Nuclear weapons are a key part of it, he says.

The Chinese upgrade is happening at the same time as the last agreement between the US and Russia regulating the countries’ nuclear arsenals recently expired. Donald Trump has said that he wants to see a new agreement that also includes China, but Beijing’s interest in this has been weak.”

  4. Up in the north (Kursk area). Happening now and then. Otherwise continued focus on Pokrovsk and Huliaipole. Decreasing total (localized and counted Russian attacks per front section) but sustained unlocalized attacks (possibly Ukrainian) pressure, which still represents one in three Russian attacks.

  5. Marco Rubio’s speech in Munich. A bit like Vance last year but more conciliatory and cooperative. There was a common value base USA-Europe. He still said that Europe was in a state of “managed decline”. He received standing ovations when he highlighted Europe’s Christian heritage and the need to reduce mass migration.

      1. Well, you are right, not difficult to outperform Vance there.

If Europe is in “Managed decline” Hmm.. What’s happening in the USA then?

I think Europe has probably learned its lesson regarding mass immigration, and if you reduce Russia’s influence in Africa and the Middle East, mass migration from those countries will also decrease. Russia is so weakened now that they run with their tails between their legs as soon as the USA expresses dissatisfaction with any leader in any Russia-allied country, so it’s a positive thing with the USA’s actions.

His complaints about Europe’s climate work are probably mostly due to his boss being resistant to facts, and knowing that he doesn’t have much time left to suffer from a warmer climate. Now, some countries in Europe have done it the wrong way by shutting down nuclear power and replacing it with Russian gas and intermittent wind and solar, but that will probably correct itself gradually.

He also complained about our expensive welfare society, but there it’s probably a lot about envy and the desire for American private healthcare companies to get a larger market in Europe. Trump is probably of the opinion that those who are not millionaires are failed individuals who don’t deserve healthcare.

The Christian heritage has been explained very well by Proxima below. There’s not much to be proud of.

  6. Marco Rubio is Spanish at heart just like Castro. Fidel was proud to be a descendant of the Spaniards. Surely Marco Rubio is too. He doesn’t mention what these Spaniards did to the Arawaks in Cuba, Hispaniola, and other islands. Or is this what Rubio means by “we should be proud of our Christian heritage”? When it comes to America, there is probably a lot to be proud of but hardly our Christian heritage.
Arawaks are actually a language family where several Indian tribes were included. Among others, the Caribs who then gave their name to the islands. The Spaniards exterminated these people in the name of God in record time. A few remnants remain in Venezuela. I have been employed on a ship named “Arawak”. Saléns in Stockholm, at least, had the good taste to honor this people by naming a ship Arawak.
But to talk as a European about Europe and America being proud of their Christian heritage indicates that Rubio is ignorant of history, just like all those who applauded him.

    1. Connection to Epstein? Vance’s spokesperson “tech oligarchs”, including this sphere’s guru Peter Thiel as a strong influence. And there are more than just Elon Musk of these oligarchs appearing in the documents released so far regarding the scandal?

Then the administration seems to have understood that the USA needs Europe. Wise decision to send Rubio at least.

“In the extensive correspondence between the Silicon Valley venture capitalist and the late pedophile, both men expressed a deep aversion to democracy.”

What Peter Thiel Saw in Jeffrey Epstein
      https://www.thenation.com/article/society/peter-thiel-jeffrey-epstein-democracy/tnamp/

“Thiel is best known as Vance’s former venture capital boss and the primary funder of his 2022 Senate campaign, but he is also a close friend and major intellectual influence for Vance.”

The Seven Thinkers and Groups That Have Shaped JD Vance’s Unusual Worldview

      https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/07/18/jd-vance-world-view-sources-00168984

      1. Interesting!

Perhaps the audience’s reaction when Vance appeared at the Olympic opening ceremony also played a role.

After the Greenland crisis, maybe someone (Rubio) has started to realize that Europe can unite against the USA in the same way as against Russia when one of us is being bullied.

I have zero confidence that Trump, Vance, Hegseth, or anyone else in the top tier except Rubio can see the consequences of Trump’s treatment of allies. If he insisted on going to Europe himself, any of the others would have been a disaster.

  7. OBOZ.UA HILLARY CLINTON Former candidate for the US presidency

”I believe that the Trump administration’s attitude towards Ukraine is shameful. Trying to force Ukraine to agree to a capitulation agreement with Putin is shameful. I believe that Putin’s and Trump’s attempts to take advantage of the suffering and death of the Ukrainian people are a historic mistake and corruption of the highest order.”

    1. Well, it’s shameful, but that’s what Trump has been up to all along.

He wants to make a deal with Putin regarding Ukraine’s minerals in Donbass, and for that, he’ll do anything.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the reason he wants to overthrow the Iranian regime is to gain control over Iran’s oil.

If one were to consider a potential future positive reason for why he’s doing what he’s doing, it might be that he has an idea that by making a deal with Putin, he can stop Russia’s trade with China. It could be the same with Iran, to stop their oil exports to China.

However, the war in Ukraine would probably end sooner if Trump decided to help Ukraine achieve victory. Stop the shadow fleet and supply Ukraine with Tomahawks, and it’s goodnight for Putin in the bunker.

  8. At 22:00 217 attacks, of which 136 localized.

More than one unlocalized attack per Russian attack (at 22:00 217-136=81).

58 attacks in Pokrovsk where AFU reports 167 KIA and 19 WIA. 167+19=186 KWIA. 186/58=3.2 KWIA/attack.

Forecast 08:00 at 22:00 has (22-8)/24=0.583 of the reporting day passed. But it’s night and goes up to 0.75.

Total attacks: 217/0.75=289 attacks at 08:00

Localized attacks: 289*136/217=181 attacks Unlocalized attacks: 289-181=108

    KWIA per localized attack: 3.2*181=579.2

KWIA (Russian) per unlocalized attack (10-30 per attack): 108*10=1,080 (calculating low)

    Forecast KWIA 08:00 tomorrow: 579+1080=1,659
