Russia attacked several Ukrainian cities during the night
During the night, at least six explosions were heard in Kyiv, but there are also reports of explosions from Odesa and Zaporizhzhia. In Odesa, infrastructure, an educational institution, and a high-rise building were damaged, among other things. At least three people were injured in the attack on Zaporizhzhia, according to the governor. Read more here.

The world’s largest container shipping company, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Co, has now stopped shipments to and from Russia’s Black Sea port Novorossiysk after one of its ships was hit by a drone, according to reports from Bloomberg. The suspension came immediately after an attack on one of their ships that was heading to Novorossiysk. Read more here.
Ratcliffe warns Moscow against escalation
As already reported, Ratcliffe is said to have visited Moscow to warn Russia against escalating tensions with NATO members, especially Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. If true, we hope he has more success than his predecessor Bill Burns had when he visited Moscow in 2021 to warn Russia against attacking Ukraine. Kyiv Independent writes about it here.
Lukoil has now stopped production at all of their largest refineries
Russia’s fourth-largest oil refinery and second-largest gasoline producer has once again stopped processing crude oil after Ukraine’s latest drone attacks. Ukrainian forces attacked the Lukoil-Nizhegorodorgsintez refinery, also known as NORSI, on August 26. After this latest shutdown, Lukoil has now ceased production at all its major facilities. Lukoil is Russia’s largest oil and petroleum company. Read more here. Ukraine’s drone campaign against refineries has really paid off!

** Former Trump Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg: The overwhelming majority of Americans support Ukraine and believe in Ukraine. But I’ll tell you, if you conduct a poll in America, you will automatically get 30% of people who believe the sun rises in the west or the southeast. I simply don’t count them.
So you’re never going to get 100%. But the fact is that 68 to 70% of Americans support Ukraine, and only 2% really support what Russia is doing. That shows that the American people are with Ukraine. Don’t listen to Washington. Washington has its own view. That’s why they call it the swamp.
But Americans in general admire Ukraine’s fight, understand it, and support Ukraine. ** Movie with the interview:

** Former Trump Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg: I think the people talking about business deals with the Russians are behaving foolishly. Putin has imposed his view of the world on them. I wish they would take a step back and understand reality.
They’re hoping — you know, I’d like to drive a Maserati, but I don’t, and probably never will. And he tells them, “We’ll give you a Maserati.” And they believe him. I think some of these negotiators are behaving foolishly.
They really don’t understand who they’re dealing with, and they don’t understand the Ukrainians.
Former Trump Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg: We know that the Russians did not want to see me on that negotiating team. And it’s unfortunate that they were listened to. They should have been told: “You don’t choose our negotiator. We choose him.”
I think what happened was that they allowed Putin to influence this, and then they started using his friends. I would have liked to remain the representative for both Ukraine and Russia, but that didn’t happen.
So I said: this is the president’s decision. He is the president. He makes those decisions, not me. ** Movie with the interview:

** Former Trump Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg: Witkoff and Kushner cannot understand war — the full complexity of war, the human factor, the factor of your adversary. I don’t think they understand Russia and its capabilities very well. They’re not trained for this. It’s not their core competency.
I think their involvement in the negotiations is a mistake. Not because they’re bad people — no, they’re good people — but because they don’t understand it. ** Movie with the interview: https://bsky.app/profile/slavaukraini033.bsky.social/post/3mu24wx5xsc2y
