As you have probably noticed, we now have ads on the site. The ads and their placement are managed by Google, which also tries to optimize it automatically. We will let it run for a few weeks to see where it ends up. Some placements feel quite large, but it might get better.
We will then post a survey to hear what you think, if there are too many ads, if there are certain placements that are particularly annoying, etc. so we can make any adjustments after that.

  1. ⚡️Important targets of the Russian aggressor have been hit

    ⚡️As part of efforts to reduce the enemy’s offensive capabilities and complicate fuel supplies to the occupiers’ military units, on the night of August 30, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces and Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the Krasnodar Oil Refinery (Krasnodar Krai, Russian Federation). This oil refinery produces 3 million tons of light petroleum products per year, including gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel. It participates in supplying the Russian Armed Forces.

    Numerous explosions and a fire were recorded at the facility.

    ⚡️In addition, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repeatedly struck the Sizransky oil refinery in the Samara region of the Russian Federation. The enterprise produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, fuel oil, and bitumen. By August 2025, its processing capacity was 8.5 million tons per year. A fire has been reported in the area of the facility.

    The results of the fire damage are being clarified.

    The defense forces are taking measures to undermine the offensive potential of the Russian invaders and force the Russian Federation to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine.

  2. 💥🔥👍

    “💥🛢️/1. Two Russian oil refineries were targeted today Krasnodar oil refinery as well as Syzran oil refinery. Krasnodar has a capacity of 3.1mln tons per year. Syzran, with a capacity of 7mln tons, is targeted for the third time in August — it was targeted on 15th and 24th.

    1. Looks extensive, almost like the other day. Does Putin want to tip over Trump on the Ukrainian side in Russia’s invasion war against Ukraine? Or does Putin rely on Taco being a real rubber Tarzan?

      1. It assumes that 🍊 would react rationally from a European perspective, something we can probably forget. He is probably impressed by projected strength, the only way Russian terror would push 🌮 over to Ukraine’s side is if public opinion in the US would demand it for real. Considering that several opinion polls show that the average American stands on Ukraine’s side, one can only conclude that the Ukraine issue is so insignificant overall for most Americans that it doesn’t matter so much that their president is pursuing a different agenda.

        1. I can imagine that the war in Ukraine is perceived as a skirmish that is not essential to the American. Already Europe is an abstract concept in the American worldview. Certainly a continent but not a power sphere. There, Europe is still the individual nations of Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, and polar bears in Switzerland/Sweden that are often confused.

          What Europe needs is an even stronger integration (including Great Britain) and to appoint a president who has a mandate (based on a greater degree of supranationality) to point with the whole hand and set a clear direction for Europe. Not least in terms of security policy, which seems to be the area where the EU is worst at.

    2. ⚡️ 548 ENEMY TARGETS DESTROYED/DOWNED

      During the night to August 30 (from 7:00 pm on August 29), the enemy carried out a massive attack on Ukrainian territory using attack UAVs, air-, land-, and sea-based missiles. In total, the radio-technical troops of the Air Force detected and tracked 582 air strikes during the attack:

      – 537 Shahed type attack UAVs and various types of drone imitators from Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russia;
      – 8 ballistic missiles of Iskander-M/KN-23 type from Rostov region and Krasnodar region – Russia;
      – 37 air-launched/airborne missiles of air-, land-, and sea-based types: X-101, Kalibr, Iskander-K, X-59 (launch areas from Saratov region – Russia, Black Sea waters and TOT Zaporizhia region).

      The air strike was repelled by the Air Force, air defense forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile artillery units from the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

      💥 According to preliminary information, the air defense had shot down/destroyed 548 air targets by 09:00:

      – 510 enemy UAVs of Shahed type and various types of imitation drones;
      – 6 ballistic missiles of Iskander-M/KN-23 type;
      – 32 cruise/air-to-surface missiles of X-101, Kalibr, Iskander-K, X-59 types.

      5 missiles and 24 attack UAVs have hit 7 locations, and downed (wreckage) have fallen on 21 locations.

      ❗️The attack continues, there are still several hostile UAVs in the airspace. Follow the safety rules, stay in shelters!

    1. It’s absolutely wonderful to wake up to new riff news every day now. If oil and trains are affected, everything will come to a halt, and what can even China do then?

      1. Yes, it may eventually reach the point where China does not think it’s worth holding the Russians under their arms. If Ukraine can continue at the same pace as they have done now during August, it probably won’t be too long before we get there.

  3. Off-Topic

    So the women (the feminists) have themselves come to the conclusion that they prefer to decide for themselves how to act and that they gladly avoid having a lot of children and standing at home by the stove.

    Another woman thinks this is completely wrong.
    A woman who has chosen to become the chairperson of a youth association?

    “SD’s youth association: Too shameful with housewives”

    Feminism bears a great responsibility for the low birth rate in Sweden, according to Denice Westerberg, chairperson of SD’s youth association Ungsvenskarna. In an interview with SvD, Westerberg says that the housewife should be appreciated and that many would benefit from “more traditional gender roles.”

    Westerberg criticizes the fact that many women are constantly told to educate themselves and work.

    – Suddenly, yes, then you’re 30, and then you don’t have time to have so many children. I think that’s a big part of the problem.”

    1. It’s reasonable that something like 3% or so of women want to be housewives, right? So then it’s silly that it’s stigmatized. You can also become a daycare mom, that was probably more common before. I think it’s good for diversity with a few more housewives, but maybe more than a few percent isn’t great for modern society.

      1. I question whether it would really be shameful.

        Regardless, I think the most important thing is that women (together with their partners) decide for themselves how they want to do things, and I believe that the majority of women do just that.

        Denice is now trying to make it seem like if you don’t choose to be a housewife, it’s because you have “succumbed to peer pressure,” and in doing so, she is doing exactly what she accuses feminism of doing, namely influencing, but in the opposite direction.

        What is a feminist, well those who believe that women should have the same rights and opportunities as men and that they should be able to decide on their own lives.

        Of course, there are those who are against it and try to belittle and discredit feminists by portraying them as rabid man-haters.

        Unfortunately, there are of course women who hate men, just as there are men who hate women.

        1. You are probably right that it is not particularly shameful. Perhaps on par with FIRE or those who choose to live the van life? Regarding the definition of feminism, your definition is good but hardly the only one. Major feminist icons, such as Simone de Beauvoir and Judith Butler, argued that womanhood and the feminine were purely social constructs and 0% innate. This mindset has consequences in areas like sports but also in society at large.

      1. They will surely mimic Orcban’s various proposals in Hungary. But if they really want to have many children, should they promote African culture?

  4. USA

    The USA has become so corrupt that it’s just for him to take it to the Supreme Court and then he gets what he wants.
    The three branches that are supposed to ensure balance so that none of them gets too much power no longer work.
    Republicans who know that they will ruin their political careers if they dare to go against Trump make Congress not stop him and judges in the Supreme Court who are appointed based on their political loyalty have now led to the president essentially gaining unlimited power, and with Trump as president, he will exploit it to the fullest.

    “Donald Trump is raging on social media after an appeals court ruled that most of the president’s tariffs are illegal. In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump writes, among other things, that it would be a ”total disaster for the country” if the tariffs were removed.

    ”If this decision stands, it would literally destroy the USA”, he writes.

    According to the court, the tariffs may remain in place until October 14 so that the case can be appealed to the Supreme Court. Trump suggests that an appeal is to be expected.

    ”With the help of the USA’s Supreme Court, we will use them to our country’s advantage and make the USA rich, strong, and powerful again”, he writes about the tariffs.”

  5. Not just positive news, Russia terror bombed Ukraine again. One dead and 22 injured in Zaporizhzhia.

    “Overnight Russian strikes hit Ukraine: in Zaporizhzhia 1 killed and 22 injured, including children, with 14 apartment blocks and 40+ houses damaged; in Dnipro and Pavlohrad infrastructure was hit; blasts also reported in Kyiv region, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, Cherkasy and Volyn..”

  6. 3 + 8.5 = 11.5 MT/year and that corresponds to approximately 3-4% of the total capacity. In itself neglectable but together with all the other hits that have been striking, it is of course devastating. These two have probably met before, hoping that the repairs have just been completed..

    “Important facilities were hit, – General Staff
    Krasnodar refinery — 3 million tons of light oil products per year – gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel.

    Syzran refinery — gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, fuel oil, bitumen. Processing volumes were 8.5 million tons per year.”

  7. Now the USA is trying to make it sound like it’s their merit that Ukraine is taking out the riffraff! 😄
    The positive thing is that they don’t seem to be trying to stop Ukraine at least.

    “🇺🇸🇺🇦 US Ambassador to NATO Matt Whitaker: Trump is making sure that Ukraine can continue to defend itself. By giving them some deeper strike capabilities that could help them offensively. They have already taken out about 20% of Russia’s oil refining capacity in the last month.”

  8. Considering whether I should rip out one of the back doors of the car so I can install one of these, good to have if the Russians come!

  9. My ranking of security guarantees below. To qualify, it must be more than just a piece of paper, otherwise the Budapest memorandum already exists.

    1. Total decolonization of Russia. It reduces and divides the threat, especially if neighboring oblasts receive special status towards the EU so they have something to lose by turning against Moscow. Even a free Belarus is included here.
    2. Permanent demilitarization of Russia. Monthly bombing of anything military or dual use. It works, but expensive in the long run and risk of funding ceasing due to peace in our time. If they learn, and stop building military facilities, however, there will be no cost and perceived peace for all parties.
    3. NATO membership with troops and large bases in Ukraine. In third place because everything is so uncertain with Trump.

    For my part, we can hedge our bets and go with all three.
