Today’s Russian losses and activities

Russian Losses

High losses of equipment for Russia including a lot of artillery and soft vehicles. It is now the fourth day in a row that Ukraine has shot down over 2,000 UAVs per day. Very good that they can handle those quantities, at the same time it is of course also a sign that Russia has the ability to send a very large number for several days in a row. However, we do not see an increase in the significantly more expensive cruise missiles, and luckily for that as they are much harder to shoot down. The attrition war between Russia and Ukraine, where both countries have depleted most of their stocks, of course means that they prioritize cheaper technology that is easier to produce. When it comes to FPV drones, I suspect that they are actually more effective than traditional artillery. As for Shaheds, the big advantage is that they are light and cheap to manufacture and can therefore be used in large quantities. Robots are of course much more effective, but at a completely different cost.

Still a high number of KAB where we now have an average over seven days of around 230/day. Suicide drones have also been extremely high lately and we are now at record levels, even though today’s number is not a new record, the seven-day average is at record levels and will soon exceed 9,000/day.

  1. The Iranians who take to the streets to demonstrate will be treated as enemies. This threat is directed by Iran’s police chief Ahmad-Reza Radan towards the domestic population in state-controlled television, reports AFP.

“We will treat them the same way we treat our enemies,” he says.

The regime is afraid that the war in Iran, where the former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been killed, will lead to a resurgence of extensive regime-critical protests, the news agency writes.

Last winter, the regime violently suppressed the major protests. Tens of thousands of people are reported to have been killed when security forces opened fire on demonstrators.

  2. Two British ships were hit by “unknown projectiles” in the Strait of Hormuz during Wednesday morning, British media reports. The ships are said to have caught fire but there is no information that the crew has been injured.

One of the ships is being evacuated from the area, BBC reports. It is unclear exactly what has happened but British authorities are investigating the incident, according to the channel. Iran has previously targeted ships in the area.

The important Strait of Hormuz is closed due to the war between the USA, Israel, and Iran, which means that ships cannot travel to or from the Gulf states.

  3. Russian spies may pose a greater threat to Finland after the war in Ukraine, warns the Finnish Security Police. In a situation report, Skypo notes that the war is likely to last a long time, but if it were to end, Russia could reallocate its resources to engage in other operations.

“The resources currently tied to the Ukraine war will be available for use elsewhere when the war is over,” the statement reads.

The Russian intelligence capacity in Europe has deteriorated due to the war in Ukraine, but the country is trying to rebuild it, according to the security police. Finland is likely to be a priority target due to its geography and NATO membership.

    1. ❗️Ukraine has “cards”. I think that a year ago we also had them, but we didn’t show them. Now everyone has understood that we do have them – Zelenskyy.
