Ukraine attacked the Rostov region during the night, three warehouses including one from Ozon were hit – Lower Russian losses

Ukraine carried out a large-scale attack on the Rostov region during the night. Drones hit, among other things, a warehouse belonging to Ozon. According to the company, a small fire started which they were able to extinguish quickly. Operations are currently down. A warehouse belonging to DNS (a home appliance and electronics retailer) was also hit and caught fire in the city of Aksay, where employees had to be evacuated. In the village of Leninskoye, another warehouse belonging to the Russian chain Chizhik was attacked.
Likely more targets were hit, but so far it is unclear how extensive the damage caused by the attacks is.

Today’s report on Russian losses is unusually low except for killed and wounded soldiers and armor (which is always low).

Operational information as of 08:00 on August 29, 2026, regarding the Russian invasion

Glory to Ukraine!
The 1648th day of the Russian Federation’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun.
During the past day, a total of 242 combat engagements were recorded.

Yesterday, the enemy carried out 77 airstrikes, during which 284 guided aerial bombs were dropped. Additionally, the attackers used 9,213 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,987 shellings against communities and our troops’ positions.

In the Sumy region, the communities of Mala Korchakivka, Bilovody, Shpyl, Yunakivka, Mohrytsia, Oleksiivka, Ulanove, Ivolzhanske, and Yastrubshchyna were subjected to hostile artillery shelling. Additionally, the areas around Tovstodubove, Nova Sich, and Khrapivshchyna were hit by airstrikes.

During the past day, the defense forces’ aviation, missile units, and artillery struck three areas with concentrations of enemy personnel as well as three command posts for unmanned aerial vehicles.

In the northern Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, our defenders repelled an enemy assault attempt during the past day.

In the southern Slobozhansky sector, Ukrainian units repelled eight enemy attacks. The attackers tried to advance in the area around Starytsia, as well as towards Zakharivka, Okhrimivka, and Volokhivka.

In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy attacked once towards Novoosynove.

Attempts to break into our defense were repelled in the Lyman sector, where the occupiers conducted 11 attacks in the areas around Lyman and Dibrova, as well as towards Shyikivka, Hrekivka, and Stavky.

In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy carried out eight assault attempts in the areas around Zakitne and Kryva Luka, as well as towards Rai-Oleksandrivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupiers attacked five times towards the communities of Zapovidne and Yurkivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, 24 attacks were recorded. The attackers conducted assault operations in the areas around Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Novoselivka.

The highest number of assault attempts was recorded in the Pokrovsk sector, where our defenders stopped 41 attacks. The enemy was active in the areas around Kotlyne, Serhiivka, and Molodetske, and also carried out assaults towards Toretske, Sofiivka, Vilne, Dobropillia, Novohrishyne, Udachne, Muravka, Biliakivka, and Novopavlivka.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the attackers launched five attacks towards the communities of Piddubne, Maliivka, and Rybne.

In the Huljajpole sector, the occupiers attacked our defenders’ positions 15 times. The enemy tried to advance in the area around Hirke, as well as towards Rizdvianka, Dolynka, Kopani, and Yehorivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, our defenders stopped four enemy attempts to advance towards Krasnohirske and Novopavlivka.

In the Prydniprovsk sector, the enemy carried out no assault operations during the past day.

In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs have been detected that the enemy is forming offensive groupings.

The Ukrainian defenders continue the systematic fight against the enemy and offer effective resistance on all front sectors.

In total, the Russian attackers’ losses during the past day amounted to 1,420 personnel. Additionally, three tanks, four armored fighting vehicles, 25 artillery systems, three multiple launch rocket systems, nine ground-based missile systems, 1,360 unmanned aerial vehicles, 318 vehicles, and four units of special equipment were neutralized.

233 enemy drones shot down/jammed

“During the night of August 29 (from 18:00 on August 28), the enemy attacked with a sea target missile of the Oniks type, a ballistic missile of the Iskander-M type from the temporarily occupied Crimea, and 267 attack drones of the Shahed types (including jet-powered variants), Gerbera, S8000 “Banderol,” and decoy drones of the “Parodiya” type.

The drones were launched from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from the temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The air attack was countered by the air force, air defense missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups within Ukraine’s defense forces.

💥 According to preliminary data, by 08:30 air defense had shot down or neutralized 233 enemy drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types in the northern, southern, eastern, and central parts of the country.

Hits from enemy airborne attack weapons were recorded at 15 locations, and the fall of shot-down targets or wreckage was recorded at four locations. Additionally, some of the enemy’s attack weapons did not reach their targets. Information about these is still being clarified.

    In total, thanks to contributions from international partners and donors, 30 such vehicles have been delivered to medics. The vehicles are custom-built in Canada by Terradyne Armored Vehicles for Ukraine.

    It was a Russian attack on an ammunition depot that caused the deaths of at least 37 people in the Kyiv suburb of Bucha.         I don’t think Putin meets the criteria for street smart. Compared to Lukashenko, he is at a disadvantage against the population and against Russia. Lukashenko has previously managed to play Russia and the EU against each other, and he “happens” to leak secret news sometimes and is deliberately a bit of a clown because it serves his purpose. 

        Putin has constantly had violent capital behind him. From the KGB, from the city, and ultimately the state (which is himself). He is more of a bully or mafioso. He has not played the West, rather the West has been so naive in its longing and greed for Russian business and assets that we have excused all warning signs. There have not been many positive signs.

        Putin is probably not stupid, but he has never needed to show any street smartness.

    RU is bombing Ukraine and Kiev with drones daily now, instead of every 3-4 days it is around the clock.

    Russian media is also inventing a casus belli against Europe, we are at war with them, we are mobilizing, we will attack them and all that.

    Russia has made all preparations to attack us now, if they do it is still a question until it is no longer one.

    Putin only understands strength and I think a threshold in the Baltics would be good now but the Baltics will probably mobilize instead. According to themselves, they should have a few hundred thousand under arms within 24 hours.

      Sure he can, but I personally believe there is a fairly clear red line. Then Russia will have the whole world against it, possibly only North Korea and Iran remaining. Not even Trump can justify letting a madman with nuclear weapons continue.

      Besides, it is more of a psychological weapon than an actually usable one. It is much more effective to wipe out a city with small precision weapons than a Tsar Bomba.
