Ukraine continues to attack Russia, which in turn continues to suffer heavy losses

Ukraine has attacked a Russian military facility in Volgograd according to the Kyiv Independent.

The crisis in occupied Crimea continues. Strangely, the Russians seem to have no problem posting videos where they complain about the situation. Oh, how sorry they are that they can’t refuel! We have been told for several years now not to expect the people to start a revolution because the Russians know how to suffer. That assumption doesn’t quite match reality. 🤣

Russian losses

  • 1350 KIA
  • 1 Tank
  • 12 AFVs
  • 58 Artillery systems
  • 3 MLRS
  • 1951 UAVs
  • 11 UGVs
  • 488 Vehicles & fuel tanks
  • 5 Special equipment
  • 3 Cruise missiles

  1. Russia may be planning a “provocation” against Poland or a Baltic country to test NATO’s cohesion. This is according to sources within two NATO countries in Eastern Europe, reports The Guardian. – We expect various forms of escalation in the coming weeks and months. We want to prepare together as a group of countries that are directly exposed to this risk, says Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk. However, it is not supposed to be a full-scale attack, and Russia is not considered to have the capacity to open a second front in the war. The background is the Russian setbacks, and that Ukraine now seems to have momentum in the war. The purpose is to warn countries against helping Ukraine and at the same time test the US’s willingness to support smaller NATO countries.

  2. OT:

“The USA has attacked targets at the Strait of Hormuz in Iran. This is stated by the American military in a statement, according to Reuters. The attack is said to be a response to Iran’s attacks on a commercial vessel on Thursday. Fighter jets have attacked Iranian missile and drone depots as well as radar installations along the coast, according to the statement. The American forces promise to “continue securing the passage for commercial vessels through the strait.” Iranian media report that a “projectile” has hit the area around a pier in Sirik at the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters writes.”

    1. Agree, but a bit quick to draw that conclusion after MXT left two comments. We’ll have to get back to it after Johan’s and the old guy’s attacks and see if the mood drops.

      😉

The robot vacuum that comes up as an ad for me seems awesome! The dust disappears (disintegrates?) about 4 inches in front of the machine in the video. Does it throw antimatter in front of it, do you think?

      1. It’s magic. The vacuum cleaner, that is. Otherwise, I’m a bit interested in that incredibly effective wrinkle cream that just as magically erases the slightest hint of wrinkles so that the face becomes as smooth as Bessent’s lifted mug.
By the way, I agree with the overall mood.

        1. Maybe you can combine? If the dust disappears without a trace in front of the vacuum cleaner, maybe the wrinkles do too. I don’t know if you should lie on the floor in front of the vacuum cleaner or pick it up like a little child and “puff” it on the “stomach.”

      2. The ads are carefully handpicked based on each individual visitor, regardless of whether you have plenty of dust mites at home or look like wrinkled raisins!

Jokes aside. The ads manage themselves completely; I have nothing to do with them. They try to adapt partly based on the visitor and partly based on the content of the website.

Since the site does not deal with topics that companies normally market themselves within, it seems that we get to see the most bizarre and unprofessional ads. Much of it is laughably bad. Miracle cures for just about everything you can imagine, or rather for ailments you didn’t even know existed. 😂

That is probably also a reason why the ad revenue is so low. It’s around 200-300 SEK/month.

I notice a clear difference if I have recently visited a larger site. Then, for a day or two, I mostly get ads from them, then it goes back to showing meaningless low-quality ads about IQ tests and cures for nail fungus, sleep apnea, and other nonsense.

I am seriously considering removing the ads entirely. They are annoying and barely generate anything at all.

        • At the same time, I have also considered experimenting with creating some posts that are completely off-topic but should be more ad-driven, just to see if it would affect the type of ads that appear. Not so much to try to get more ad revenue but mostly because it would be interesting to see if it affects the ads.

  3. Good morning!
Yes, that advertisement for the American hair tonic produced in southern Arkansas by one of the Trump group’s MAGA companies promises to give the same fine and flowing hair as Howard Lutnick has. I do think I’ll pass, though, even though the signed Trump Bible that comes with it makes it tempting, because who can resist the cover with Jesus and Donald hand in hand.

    1. 👍

Some are probably truly brainwashed. I myself have encountered those who are convinced that everything is the USA’s fault and that Ukraine consists of Nazis, etc., and they believe that Russia is fully justified in defending itself. All evidence that Russia commits abuses, bombs civilians, etc., is ignored because in their eyes it is just false propaganda.

It’s impossible to reason with that type of idiots. It’s also not easy to distinguish them from those paid by Russia because they use exactly the same arguments. Russian propaganda clearly works on far too many.

The hatred of the USA is probably the basis for many and makes it easy to believe the nonsense. The USA has had a knack for causing trouble, so it’s perhaps not so strange that many willingly choose to believe that it’s their fault out of old habit. Especially those on the left.

The sick thing is that those far to the right also fall for the same Russian propaganda. Those who at the same time praise the USA as a model country.

Then we have those the article is about. Those who want peace at any cost, as long as it doesn’t affect themselves.. Even there, some are probably just fooled and some are simply bought.

      1. The horseshoe analogy.
The extreme left and extreme right are both children of the same spirit and certainly financed by the FSB.
Several who, for various reasons, hate the USA think it is okay for the Russian devils to terrorize Ukrainians because of what the USA has done.
Completely crazy logic. I have met several.

  4. Ukrainian missiles have hit a Russian artillery factory in Volgograd, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reports on Telegram. The attack is said to have been carried out with the new Flamingo cruise missile, which is manufactured by a Ukrainian defense company. “The scope for Ukraine’s long-range sanctions is constantly increasing, and it is the pressure we put on Russia that lays the foundation for a reasonable peace in the future,” writes Zelenskyy. The president has also shared video clips that appear to show an explosion at the weapons facility and a Flamingo missile passing over a rooftop. During the night, Russia attacked and damaged facilities belonging to the Ukrainian state energy company Naftogaz with drones and ballistic missiles, according to Reuters.

  7. Off-Topic

“The so-called peace council that Donald Trump has established to, among other things, govern Gaza plans to grant itself legal immunity, according to documents obtained by The Guardian. According to the documents, the peace council will also have the right to acquire public property in Gaza for free. Members of the peace council will thus be immune from arrest, detention, or prosecution by courts or other authorities in Gaza. A person’s immunity can be revoked by Donald Trump with majority support from the council. According to lawyers, it is unclear how the peace council’s personnel, including soldiers and contractors, can be held accountable in cases such as shootings or accidents involving Gazans. The peace council denies the allegations and says that the council will ensure that all personnel comply with the law.”

  9. See that a good tone is desired above.

Yes, I completely agree – it’s time for tolerance because I will only support Biden and the Green Party for a few months and expect a good tone and no pushback 👍

Good from the thread that we can reach this point.
