17 cut submarine cables in the Red Sea are a signal that we have taken a step up on the global escalation – there is more to come.
It is actually an act of war but we seem to have fallen asleep.

Houti did not decide on their own to cut the submarine cables, probably it was not them even though they claimed responsibility for the sabotage. This is a major underwater operation unless it was the shadow fleet dragging a lot of anchors again – and then it definitely wasn’t the Houti.
In the Baltic Sea, Russia damaged 11 cables over a year and now they have had their heavy tugboats or vessels suitable for underwater work over a lot of cables in recent months. Why, no one needs to ask anymore and it includes the power transmission cable to the UK and from us down to the continent among other things.
In Sweden, we recently had our VMA cut off and a message about war was probably sent out, or something like that?
Two power outages on Gotland and around thirty mobile towers along our east coast were damaged earlier this year. Even if the power outages on Gotland were just lightning strikes.

Quite interesting that lightning strikes that blackout Gotland twice in a short time chose to come this year – it is probably not very common with double lightning strikes that darken the island with a few weeks apart, what do you think the probability of that is?
When all of Europe’s leaders went to the USA and confronted Trump, we in Europe stood up and I was greatly pleased – the hope was of course that Russia and China received the message “Stop – here but no further you earth’s last colonial powers and detestable environmental destroyers”.
When Ukraine immediately started targeting goals that had been completely prohibited in an entire war, it turned into a positive loop and we began to hope that Europe was ready when Druzba had its third flyover.
Then Germany and Poland withdrew troops in Ukraine quite promptly for example even though the rhetoric otherwise is tough. Now about ten countries have clarified that they will not send troops to Ukraine I think, but the UK and France are still there.
France’s government recently fell so maybe only the UK is left if Kier Starmer is not also brought down by the Russian subversive activities which is the price for standing up against Russia. The dark secret we have described for several years that makes everyone hesitate.
The power transmission cable from Norway might be a suitable punishment for Starmer’s audacity?
And no one is going to show a threshold effect in the Baltics, it is quite clear now that nothing will arrive by Friday. This goes against the mission description that they should arrive in the Baltics with an increased threat.
The recent communication from China and Russia suggests that they are not backing down now that Europe has found its inner Viking. On the contrary, it’s time to put on the big-boy-pants and use harsh words about it being a new era and that Europe and the USA are being left behind.
This is apparently how they see us after everything we did for Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union 😶

China also dropped the bomb that the BRIICS sphere of +30 countries will all be able to bypass SWIFT and conversion via USD when China launches its new system. The USA has gone to war for less than that.

We have already discussed the military parade and it is crystal clear that China is far ahead of the USA and Europe on the curve for the latest technology. The USA has also shown in action that they are lagging behind, drone and robot programs that have delays, problems, or have been discontinued have been described in the posts.

The USA is also trying to gain access to Ukraine’s drone technology and “know-how” now which also suggests that they are behind on the curve.

In Europe, we lean towards the USA, this feels reassuring.
As mentioned, if one wants to be generous, one can guess that the USA tried to bring down China with the trade war, taking a hit oneself to get everything in motion and then someone else falls harder than oneself – but the USA has failed completely.
I also suspect that Trump had an overconfidence in himself and the USA – he would bring in trillions, he would negotiate peace, he would get a Nobel Prize AND he would be able to please Putin and enrich himself (which he did to an incredible extent…).
The USA would be satisfied, Europe would be pushed back, China would fall, and Russia would join the USA.
It didn’t turn out that way at all and 😀
China has been preparing for this for decades – they got all the production and together with Russia they have managed to take over energy production in Europe, shut down our own, and prevented us from upgrading sufficiently for a long time.
Already in 2007, the whole world knew what Russia was planning after Putin’s speech in Munich but we have shut down everything and made ourselves dependent on Russia and China – we are consumers now in Europe. A bit like Spain’s gold thefts in South America in the past which eventually led to their complete downfall because they stopped producing within the country.
Zapad 25 “hot phase” will probably start this weekend and already Belarus has announced that the exercise is underway and that they are also practicing military medicine and mobilization of reservists. It has not escaped anyone that Lukashenko was treated like a rock star at the meeting in China. A small insignificant country with 10 million inhabitants whose only advantage is the proximity to Europe and Ukraine.
Poland is closing its border with Belarus and urging Polish citizens to leave the country.
https://newsukraine.rbc.ua/news/poland-warns-citizens-to-leave-belarus-now-1757114607.html
One can extrapolate endlessly on this, but too much is guesswork for it to be credible so I won’t draw any conclusions below –
– Trump’s smile at the Alaska meeting and his long face after the private meeting with Putin, what did he find out?
– The USA’s lame attempt to mock the Chinese summit and Trump’s obvious disappointment that everyone went to China instead of making trade deals with him.
– That the USA is going to reduce its presence in the Baltics and many other things, that they will focus on national defense and no longer be the world’s police.

– Egypt has also brought in large forces to Sinai now and Iran is threatening with everything again – apparently they never learn.
So what are the immediate threats?
– that Ukraine is attacked from Belarus and Transnistria in addition to the fronts and collapses. Europe will not actively prevent it, I think we know enough about Europe now to be able to write this.
– that Israel collapses, a little less likely but Russia and China are trying.
– that China tries to take over Taiwan.
“Then we all chant ‘peace in our time’.”
No, this is just the beginning of our time’s global conflict unfortunately – a so-called starting shot.
“but Transnistria has two Russian battalions and 5000 in the militia”.
Does anyone still believe that?
Russia trained militias to destabilize the elections in Romania and Moldova this year, they were trained in Slovenia or Macedonia, I don’t remember where.
Hungary dismissed 100 high-ranking officers earlier and has already mobilized to enter their historical areas in Ukraine once in this war.
And above all – in Transnistria there is a large arsenal for an army corps or whatever size it may be.
If Russia wants to, they could bring in civilian-clad and unarmed soldiers into Transnistria hidden over time and also increase the training of Transnistria’s militia, as well as some Special Operations Forces and Spetsnaz.
A possible attack vector could very well come from that direction.
Belarus has already started training military medical services and “large-scale testing of mobilization of reserves” ahead of Zapad 25.
Everything points towards further escalation, but when, where, and what are the big questions.
Sweden NEVER took a chance with Gotland, but right now Europe is trying to downplay Zapad 25 as much as possible, even though it seems we have given Ukraine free rein now.
I’m wondering if the strategic Ukrainian reserve might also be tasked with keeping an eye on Transnistria and Belarus now so that Ukraine doesn’t get completely caught off guard?
There are lots of rumors that Europe is preparing for war, but it all comes from Russian sources. I think it would be a dereliction of duty if Europe were not preparing for war at this time, and our governments may be trying to keep a low profile for now?
The positive thing is Ukraine and that they have implemented full asymmetric warfare – they should have been allowed to do that already in 2022, but we sit on our morally higher ground and decide over human lives, what are a few hundred thousand desecrated and tortured child corpses in the larger context if we achieve eternal peace.
We have come a long way now from being upset about Bucha and Germany not even wanting to send helmets to Ukraine in 2022, to now discussing how to contain China in 2025 😀
For my part, I understand much more about how the world works and how a rising Hitler-star is born and grows to its full glory.
A fantastic knowledge to have acquired, and above all, we have in a whole war made our own analyses and not bought ready-made packages from experts who have been wildly wrong.
We have much more to learn, and above all, what makes great leaders into great leaders – timing is everything, patience, and being made of Teflon.
Now I may have learned the hard way that timing is more important than being right and knowing it.
And to stick to your line even when everyone is against you is something few can manage over time. I have gained a lot of respect for Agnes Wold as she seems completely unaffected by all the hate she receives for calling a biological man a biological man.
The Ukraine war has escalated into a global conflict that may still end in a recession and bruised pride – or perhaps the journey has already begun towards the great power struggle of our time, I am oscillating a bit on this.
When countries arm themselves in the way we are now seeing, it eventually becomes a power struggle and a showdown until the parties get tired, and it is China and the USA that must get tired for there to be peace in our time.
Johan No.1 will continue his reporting and expand it to the global conflict, but will focus on Ukraine until they reach their goal there.
If you remember, at the end of the month we ran a donation drive for johanno1.se via the QR code – we will do this every month-end going forward, so be prepared the last week so you don’t miss this opportunity to cover the site’s costs and to honor MXT for his work on the site and all the posting. Above all, thanks to the loyal ones who have had a subscription since I started on Substack and are holding on despite all the digressions.
Ukraine has been difficult as I have felt for the country, and the suffering has been completely incomprehensible, but in the broader reporting, I try to omit the frustration and pounding fists on the table – everything also takes too much time, but this is extremely interesting and I will try to delve a little deeper in between.
Great that you are reading, and overall, there is a lot of feedback on johanno1.se, bluesky, and Substack, which is incredibly rewarding – please comment more in the channel that suits you, I read everything.

Russian losses in the war in Ukraine 2025-09-10:
SLAVA UKRAINI
It is picking up with KWIA. Continuing the trend of the past week, we are well over 1000 again.
The increased Russian attack intensity in Toretsk-Pokrovsk-Novopavlivka in yesterday’s daily report is confirmed today. Diviersk also saw record levels of Russian attacks in the past 24 hours.
Northern Slobozhansky-Kursk 9💥
Southern Slobozhansky 8
Kupyansk 7
Lyman 16💥
Siverskyi 21💥↗️
Kramatorsk 3
Toretsk 14💥↗️
Pokrovsk 60💥💥💥
Novopavlivka 40💥💥↘️
Huliaypillia 0
Orikhivsk 0
Dnipro/Prydniprovsky 0
In the Siversk direction, the enemy attacked defense forces’ positions 21 times in the areas of Serebryanka, Hryhorivka, and towards Yampil, Dronivka, Vyimka, and Pazeno.
In the Novopavlivka direction, defense forces repelled 40 enemy assaults in the areas around the settlements of Malievka, Komyshuvakha, Novomykolaivka, Olgivka, and towards the settlements of Filiya, Ivanivka, Andriivka-Klevtsove, Sichneve, Ternove, Novoivanivka.
It seems that the Russians have increased the pace, also noticeable in the reports of losses which have slightly increased in recent days.
X’s smile is a mask. Behind it lies a strategy: weaken the democracies, exhaust Europe, and stretch NATO to its breaking point. If we continue to take his words literally, we are playing into his hands.
Currently, it is only the UK from Europe participating in AUKUS, which also includes the USA and Australia. If XI allows Ukraine to win, a relieved Europe poses a threat to China’s construction of the Middle Kingdom, as Europe and also Ukraine could strengthen the Western defense alliance in the Pacific. Where Ukraine has received support from several countries in China’s crosshairs, such as South Korea and Japan. Where China today supports Russia. XI is an enemy and as reliable as the smiling mafia boss in the Kremlin.
Yes – global conflict is coming but if we do nothing, it will be their escalation and most beneficial for them
In our reader survey regarding ZAPAD 2025, one of the options was that not much would happen, just a few drones to provoke. ZAPAD 2025 has not officially started yet, but so far, it can be said that this response option was quickly fulfilled.
Soon we will see if it escalates further.
If the drones flew over Poland deliberately, the purpose may be to ensure that Poland sees it as a threat and focuses on strengthening its own border, instead of preparing to protect the Baltics. The Russians are foolish, but not even they are dumb enough to directly attack Poland. If it was intentional, it is probably a diversionary tactic.
It could simply be a provocation to further test the boundaries to see if they can do as they please without any repercussions. If they repeat the same thing several times against other countries without any consequences, we may become accustomed, risking reacting too slowly when several hundred drones arrive later. So, perhaps they are slowly boiling the European frog.
It could of course be both a test to see how we will react, but it could also be a test to see how we handle taking them down. Can we handle a few? Where is the anti-aircraft fire coming from? How quickly can planes be deployed? If they send more drones next time, it provides even more information, allowing an assessment of how many are needed to take out the most important facilities in, for example, Poland.
“Poland’s military has shot down Russian drones in Polish airspace, several media outlets report.
The country’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote in a post on X that Russian drones “repeatedly” violated the NATO country’s airspace during an attack on Ukraine on Wednesday night. He wrote that “weapons have been used against the targets.”
According to a statement from Poland’s military on social media, an operation is now underway to locate the downed drones.
This is the first time Poland has directly intervened against Russian drones in its airspace since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022.” https://omni.se/polen-har-skjutit-ner-ryska-dronare-i-polskt-luftrum/a/GypwdJ

“The Russian violation of Polish airspace last night was an “act of aggression” that threatened public safety. This is stated by Poland’s defense forces in a post on X, as reported by Reuters.
The violations are said to have occurred “repeatedly,” leading Poland to temporarily close the international airport in the capital Warsaw. The country also urged its citizens to stay indoors.
During an attack on Ukraine, several Russian drones entered Polish airspace.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced at 06:00 on Wednesday that a security operation is still ongoing. Tusk has called the Polish government to a crisis meeting at 08:00.” https://omni.se/polens-forsvarsmakt-aggressionshandling/a/xmaeKQ

“Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has called the country’s government to a crisis meeting due to the Russian violation of Polish airspace. The crisis meeting begins at 08:00.
It was on the night to Wednesday that Polish airspace was “repeatedly” violated by Russian drones. Several drones have been shot down, and an operation is currently underway to locate the drones.
According to the Polish government, they are in “constant contact” with NATO. The US Secretary of State has also been informed of the violation, but there has been no official statement from the White House yet.” https://omni.se/tusk-kallar-till-krismote-nato-och-usa-informerade/a/W0wo4a

“The violation of Poland’s airspace is a way for Russia to test how the West will respond. This is stated by BBC’s Eastern Europe correspondent Sarah Rainsford in a quick analysis. Rainsford writes that the Russian drones did not just accidentally fly into Poland – they flew far enough in that the airport in Warsaw had to close.
‘This feels like an escalation from Moscow,’ she writes in BBC’s live feed.
SVT’s Europe correspondent Christoffer Wendick also says that this marks a new development in the war. Russian drones have previously flown into Poland, but this is the first time the country has shot down objects that violated its airspace.
‘There has been a discussion about whether Russia is doing this to test NATO’s responsiveness and how Poland reacts,’ he says in SVT’s live broadcast.” https://omni.se/snabbanalyser-ryssland-testar-vastlandernas-svar/a/RzkKxJ
It is now that Poland should invoke article 5.
Macron should for example be quick to comply with it, nothing is better than a war to divert attention now when he is in a bad situation at home in France.. 🙂
But it will probably just be some condemnations as usual.
Russia can conduct GPS disruptions, carry out sabotage and other hybrid warfare, violate other countries’ borders, etc. How far should they be allowed to go before we react for real?
Russia is like a schoolyard bully where even the teachers are too scared to intervene.
The government of France just fell…
“Several military experts believe that Russia’s violation of Poland’s airspace was intentional. Joakim Paasikivi tells Ekot that it is ‘difficult to see’ that several drones would fly astray when they have not done so before.
Military expert Johan Huovinen is on the same track.
‘This is calculated, and exactly the same behavior as when a missile was fired at the government building in Kyiv,’ he tells DN.
Major Roger Djupsjö, a teacher at the National Defence College, tells TT that it was only a matter of time before something similar would happen. However, he does not see the incident as an escalation.
‘Naturally, there will be diplomatic warnings, that this is not sustainable and not acceptable. But I believe that Russia expects that NATO will not respond with anything other than diplomatic measures…'”
https://omni.se/paasikivi-svart-se-att-dronare-skulle-flyga-vilse/a/25Qj3y
Suspect they are right, nothing more will come of it than condemnations this time either.
Russia is slowly boiling the European frog and escalating, and we do not react despite hybrid warfare, sabotage, GPS disruptions, cable breaks, and violations of our borders.
Instead of resisting, the result is that Putin feels strengthened and will continue.
Yes 👍
“Believes”…
the sleeping people
Russia is testing, small escalation steps, and seeing how we react, but for each test, the backlash is getting closer, Europe has a long fuse, but you can’t tease for too long.
Europe/NATO surely has a plan for how a defensive attack from our side should look when the measure is full. Hoping for a big bang at strategic locations.
I didn’t vote for that 😀
“The Ukrainian Air Force reported on the overnight attack: Shot down: 386/415 Shahed and other type drones 27/42 Kh-101/Kalibr/Kh-59/Kh-69 cruise missiles 0/1 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missile At least eight Russian UAVs crossed the state border of Ukraine towards Poland.”

In first for NATO, Poland downs Russian drones amid mass attack on Ukraine as Putin tests Western resolve. Polish authorities temporarily closed Warsaw Chopin Airport and placed the country’s air defenses on high alert overnight on Sept. 10, following reports that Russian drones have entered Polish airspace.

❗️Polish and allied air operations related to violations of Polish airspace have ended.
The search and location of possible crash sites of objects that violated Polish airspace is ongoing.
For the safety of citizens, we urge you not to approach, touch, or move any unknown objects or debris you may observe. Such items may pose a threat and contain hazardous materials. They must be inspected by the appropriate authorities.
Please report any sightings to the emergency number 112 or to the nearest police station. This will enable the authorities to secure the area quickly and effectively.
We would like to thank @NATO_AIRCOM and the Royal Netherlands Air Force @Kon_Luchtmacht for their support, whose F-35 fighter jets helped ensure safety in Polish skies tonight 🇵🇱🤝🇳🇱

Russian missile that hit government headquarters contained over 30 foreign-made parts, Ukraine says. “Compared to missiles from previous years, there are fewer components from Europe and the U.S., and more from Russia and Belarus,” presidential sanctions commissioner Vladyslav Vlasiuk said.

Since the leaders of the West lack balls, they absorb every escalation of the war according to the recipe boil frog. Probably a serious outrage from Russia’s side is the only chance to awaken the establishment from its slumber. Now the attackers have started, flown drones over our NATO-brother Poland. Where is the trigger level?
Putin continues to escalate, expand the war, and test the West’s resilience. The longer he does not receive force in response, the more aggressive he becomes. A weak response now will provoke russia even more – and then russian missiles and drones will fly even further into Europe,” said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibyha.

Exactly
I see the drone intrusion in Poland as a sign of weakness. The war in Ukraine is going badly, and the terror bombings are not working either. Russia is on its knees. Escalation then becomes a possibility. The stakes are raised in the hope of new opportunities. Europe should keep a cool head.

I don’t agree with you, but you will surely get what you want!
Europe/NATO will not react to Russia with anything other than words.
Äsch ptn has learned what works – run over the west who then shits themselves and just cackles. He simply repeats what works and tries things out.
But sure, we should keep a cool head. One must realize that nothing is achieved through condemnation or the like. Stop talking and push on like crazy. Revoke visa-free entry and in every way point out what the Russians are up to (i.e. the hidden war). Stop uncontrolled entry into the Baltic Sea through “temporary” mandatory insurance inspections. Stop the gas. Etc.
It will be a clear response to Putin if it is done TODAY.
And make sure to start unannounced exercises in the Baltics by Friday, just to be on the safe side.
These are actually small things but can be done quickly and a reasonable response before the weekend.
Spot on! 👍
Europe is a bit like that strong but kind guy in class, who watches as the little classmate is bullied by the school’s bully, and only reacts by scolding the bully and complaining to the teacher.
The teacher, who used to help him and reprimand the bully, has more and more turned away, and has even been seen talking and laughing together with the bully.
The kind guy has more and more also had to endure the bully’s teasing pats on the back, and taunts in front of the rest of the school. The anger grows silently inside the kind guy, who no longer wants to be the one who just takes it.
One fine day, it just becomes too much, and it’s the bully who has to pick up his teeth from the floor in the school corridor, to the cheers of the other students.
However, Ukraine is the strongest of all in Europe. I think one can say that Europe is like the classmates where each one is a bit weak and doesn’t dare to come together and beat the bully even if they could do it together.
“Polen kommer att få 43,7 miljarder euro från EU:s nya SAFE-försvarsfond, vilket gör det till den största mottagaren. Pengarna kommer att stärka luftförsvaret, artilleriet, drönarsystem och militär mobilitet. Warszawa planerar redan att spendera 4,8 % av BNP på försvar fram till 2026 med tanke på de ökande ryska hoten.”

1/ Sibyha reacted to the night attack by the russian Federation
“russian drones that flew into Poland during the massive attack on Ukraine indicate that Putin’s sense of impunity continues to grow, as he has not been properly punished for his previous crimes.
The minister noted that a decision needs to be made to use the air defense systems of neighboring countries to intercept drones and missiles in Ukrainian airspace, including those approaching #NATO borders. In addition, sanctions on the russian Federation must be strengthened without delay.
2/ The military used weapons”: @donaldtuskEPP commented on the invasion of russian “Shaheeds” into Poland, which caused airports to stop working
On the night of September 10, the #Polish military recorded numerous violations of the country’s airspace by russian kamikaze drones. https://www.obozrevatel.com/ukr/topic/rossijskie-obstrelyi
As a result, airports stopped operating.
3/ Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the military used weapons against enemy targets. The head of the Polish government announced this on the social network X. https://x.com/donaldtusk/status/1965600876925764069?s=46
4/ russian “Shaheeds” in Poland
During the night, it became known that several groups of russian drones crossed the state border of Ukraine towards #Poland .
Later, Tusk reported that an operation related to numerous airspace violations is underway in the country.
“The military used weapons on targets. I am in constant contact with the president and the minister of defense. I received a direct report from the operational commander,” the Polish prime minister wrote.
5/ Tusk later said that he had informed NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte about the current situation and measures taken against the objects that violated Polish airspace. The politician stressed that the Polish authorities are in constant contact with representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance.
6/ The operational command of the Polish armed forces has informed
https://x.com/dowopersz/status/1965593314716995891?s=46
that during the russian attack on objects in Ukraine, Polish airspace was repeatedly violated by drones.
The military noted that they are conducting an operation to identify and neutralize targets.
The operational command also clarified that the most vulnerable territories are the Podlaskie, Masovian and Lublin voivodeships . The operational command of the Polish Armed Forces is monitoring the current situation and remains fully prepared for immediate response.
Residents of Poland are asked not to approach, touch or carry downed drones or their fragments if they are found. The military said that such elements may remain dangerous and should be checked by sapper units, the Polish military added.
7/ Airport operations are paralyzed Due to the incursion of Russian drones into Polish airspace, the operations of the airports in Rzeszow and Lublin have been suspended. Both airports in Warsaw are also temporarily closed .
Official NOTAM notices to aviators state that airports are closed “as a result of unplanned military activity within the framework of ensuring security.”
8/ Polish army recognizes act of aggression
It is worth noting that the Polish army called the violation
https://x.com/dowopersz/status/1965618553194766773?s=46
of the country’s airspace during a massive attack against Ukraine an act of aggression . The statement of the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces states that Polish forces and allies tracked several objects through airspace monitoring radar and the operational commander of the Armed Forces decided to neutralize “those that could pose a threat.”
9/ “As a result of today’s russian attack on the territory of Ukraine, there was an unprecedented violation of Polish airspace by drone-type objects.
This is an act of aggression that created a real threat to the security of our citizens. By order of the Chief of the General Staff, defensive procedures were immediately activated,” the message says.
10/10 What preceded
On the evening of Tuesday, September 9, the aggressor country russia launched another attack on #Ukraine, launching Shahed strike UAVs and simulator drones from a number of locations. Later, it became known about the activity of the enemy’s strategic aviation , Tu-95MS bombers were raised into the sky.
In the morning, dozens of cruise missiles appeared in the airspace of Ukraine .
“NATO’s air defense helped combat the Russian drones that violated Poland’s airspace during the night to Wednesday. NATO spokesperson Allison Hart writes on X.
“Several drones penetrated Polish airspace during the night and were met by Polish and NATO air defense. NATO Secretary-General is in contact with Poland’s leadership and NATO closely consults with Poland,” writes Hart.
It is still unclear exactly how many drones violated Poland’s airspace. According to Prime Minister Donald Tusk, it is about a “huge number,” while Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky says “at least eight” drones were directed towards Poland. A NATO source told Reuters that there were at least six and up to ten drones involved, Reuters reports.”

“European leaders condemn the violation: ‘Careless’
The reactions are sharp after several Russian drones violated Polish airspace. EU’s foreign minister Kaja Kallas writes on X that it is the ‘most serious violation of European airspace’ since Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Even the President of the European Parliament Ursula von der Leyen has spoken out. She calls the violation ‘careless’ and says it is unprecedented.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accuses Russia of deliberately violating Polish airspace. He urges the EU to work towards a common air defense.
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) writes on X that Russia’s violations of Polish airspace are ‘unacceptable’.
So far, there have been no comments from the Russian side. Neither has the USA commented on the incident.”

When it comes to Europe and our lack of serious engagement in the war, we have indeed been discussing this for several years now. The war drags on unnecessarily, Russia gets the opportunity to build up and develop its arms industry, etc. If we had intervened and helped Ukraine in 2022, the war would have been over.
But there are more disadvantages to our lack of stronger action.
Europe’s passivity means a huge propaganda victory for Russia and strengthens the Russians’ own self-image when we only react with words (and possibly a few more sanctions), affecting not only the countries that are, or may consider standing on their side, but also those who may prefer not to stand on their side.
No one likes a loser, but a strong Russia that looks like a winner is easy to support and help if one believes they are strong and will emerge victorious in the end. It will pay off in the long run. It also becomes easier for Russia to mobilize internally and recruit from other countries, etc., when they can boast about how strong they are and that Europe has nothing to offer.
This of course also affects the neighboring countries such as Georgia, where pro-Russian forces are strengthened in their belief that Russia is the best ally, but also Armenia and Azerbaijan, which seem to want to distance themselves from Russia lately but may hesitate when they see that Ukraine is not getting all the help they need and no one is stopping Russia despite all the trouble they cause even outside of Europe.
Showing weakness is not just about strengthening Russia’s image, it actually strengthens them for real.
Hardly a mistake if they used Polish SIM cards.
“Moscow had been preparing drone attacks on Poland since July, using Polish and Lithuanian SIM cards in UAVs, Defense Express reports. Polish authorities were warned about test connections to their mobile networks. The likely goal was to gather intel on Poland’s air defense systems.”

“The Polish Prime Minister said that a total of 19 violations of Polish airspace had been recorded, but these are not the final figures. Of these, three drones had been confirmed shot down, and a fourth or more were likely to have been shot down.”

Did they forget where they parked them?
“Dude, where’s my Tank? In the Kharkiv region, two captured tanks, T-72 and T-72 B3-M of the Russian Armed Forces, were found during battles in the Donetsk region. They will be handed over to the balance sheet of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 🤷♂️”

“Poland will invoke NATO’s Article Four after Russian drones violated the country’s airspace. Prime Minister Donald Tusk says, according to several media outlets.
NATO’s Article Four means that the countries in the alliance should consult on the emerging security threat. It should not be confused with Article Five, which means that an attack on a NATO country is considered an attack on all NATO countries.
According to Tusk, there were 19 violations of Poland’s airspace during the night. Most drones are said to have come from Belarusian airspace.
Tusk says that Poland needs more support from its allies but that there is no reason to say that the country is in an armed conflict. …”

Article 4 current 2022? It was some missile that landed in Poland.
Poland’s National Security Council is meeting Finnish time to discuss explosions near the Ukrainian border that claimed two lives yesterday.
The Security Council is expected to discuss whether Poland should activate Article 4 of the NATO Charter – that is, whether NATO should be convened for consultations.
According to Article 4, all NATO countries are to be consulted if a member feels that its territorial integrity, political independence, or security is threatened.
Polish President Andrzej Duda says there is no conclusive evidence yet on who fired the missile that landed on Polish soil, six kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda believes that Poland will activate Article 4 of the NATO Charter for joint consultations.
Nausėda says he received the information in a call with President Andrzej Duda.
The Lithuanian President also states that the missile strike in Poland indicates that NATO should deploy more air defense and faster along the alliance’s eastern flank.

Off-Topic, EU
A step in the right direction towards self-sufficiency and avoiding China, but ridiculously little money in the context.
“The EU is to invest 1.8 billion euros, equivalent to almost 20 billion Swedish kronor, in battery production in Europe. This was announced by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on Wednesday, according to Reuters.
In March, the EU chief announced that the Commission will explore the possibilities of direct support to European battery manufacturers.”

RU testing NATO reaction just before Zapad
planned and intentional
drones over Moldova, did that happen?
UA let them pass, good for them 👍👍
I think we should also keep an eye on China, escalation is brewing from both sides.
+ total chaos in France, first victim for Putin
Did Poland manage to shoot down all of them?
Where did they hit?
Do you read the blog properly? 😉

Was it 19 drones towards the North Pole?
According to the information I have found, the answers vary between 4 and 9 shot down, the rest of the 19 flew on into Ukraine.
Poor shooting frequency 😳
I agree with you. Nothing to boast about, really.
Did you see Nepal 😳
Yes. India? Or China? Or the opposition with support from any of the above?
IT WAS ONE OF THE LARGEST PALACES IN ASIA.
The Nepalese parliament is completely engulfed in flames: they are not even trying to put it out. The building contained many major offices, the prime minister’s offices.
All important documents were completely burned down, – Online Khabar.

Nepal. Briefly and factually.
1/2
India has always viewed Nepal as a strategic buffer between itself and China.
Nepal has strengthened economic and infrastructure ties with China as part of the Belt and Road Initiative, which directly weakens India’s influence.
2/2
India has historically been an active meddler in Nepal’s internal affairs through diplomacy, trade, and funding of political parties.
Sudden protests and destabilization are beneficial to India if it seeks to weaken or revise Kathmandu’s pro-China policies.

Article 4 – angry letter.
Is it sending the right signals?
It’s going to be a lively autumn 😳
Believe in a black swan for finance as well, RU will push through.
Trump/USA probably knows about this.
Do you think I’m right as always 😳
Flight ban zone over Ukraine
Polish troops in UA towards Belarus
Driving brigades into the Baltics
– none of that you will see
Macron will probably be silent now, domestic political chaos
Belarus does not want to be blamed! 😄
So, are they going to try to blame it on disturbances? That would mean that Russia acknowledges that their drones are
“Meanwhile, defense ministry of Belarus says it was them who informed Poland about the drones and it was thanks to them that Poland was able to react. Belarus also claimed that the drones have drifted off course due to EW. The ministry’s representative claimed that some of them were shot down over Belarus. He added that Belarus exchanged information about the drones with Polish and Lithuanian military.
In my opinion, and I see that many experts agree, Russian drones deliberately flew into Poland. Their goal was to test the waters to see how Poland and NATO would react. Putin feels increasingly stronger and more confident.”
https://x.com/Gerashchenko_en/status/1965693843367735414
Threat to Finland yesterday. Drones over Poland today. What’s happening in the Baltics tomorrow?
I’m far from being an expert, but I think it smells like a bad loser mentality from the Russians. Has Russia finally realized that they are losing the war?
It is as I see it. Russia is under pressure. The war goals have not been achieved. Ukraine is holding out and resisting. An escalation can be seen as an attempt at a solution. Few openings through an escalation. Better a third world war than for Russia to be seen as a loser.
It could be that they are desperate and want to stir the pot just to see what happens, if it can bring any benefits.
Perhaps they are trying to scare Europe, that if you don’t stop your support to Ukraine, the war will come to you.
Possibly we will see massive influence campaigns now in EU countries with upset citizens who want us to stop helping Ukraine to avoid war.
It was so drastic the way you were thinking in your previous post about us needing to keep our cool, then I understand it better.
If Russia reasons like this “If we can’t achieve our goals then we escalate, come what may, and if it leads to a world war, so be it” it is of course important not to act hastily.
Yes, exactly. It’s a matter of honor or disgrace. Win or disappear. The stakes in the game are raised. What the Russians want is to involve NATO in the game. There is reason not to be provoked.
EU can still react to the hybrid war. As I see it, this is another variant of the hybrid war. The tip of an iceberg. NOW is an excellent opportunity to stop Russian visas or other things. It’s not about escalating, but it’s about saying stop now, you must stop infiltrating now and here. We have to protect ourselves. The next criminal thing you do, we will block something else.
If you just keep babbling about how immoral and terrible this is, he will just continue. No, you have to act and do it NOW, not in a few weeks… otherwise, you have to keep explaining… yes, because Putin is so stupid and sent drones over the border a month ago… if you do it now, you don’t need to explain, suddenly the red light shines in the passport control.
Alrajt – that’s what we wrote about earlier, Russia is not making progress in Ukraine so he is trying to escalate instead.
Much easier to advance in the Baltics than in Ukraine provided that NATO is not fully activated.
What do you do with a bully?
Well, you grab the bastard by both ears and headbutt the crap out of them, so their nose shatters and blood splatters.
Then the bully won’t do it again!
NATO/EU tell RU that it was probably the GPS disruptions that caused the drones to enter Poland, we will shoot down these disturbances immediately.
Yes!!
I actually believe that many bullies have already been beaten up from the beginning at home so it’s not really a great analogy.
I think that reasoning has been valid since the beginning of the war.
By acting weakly, we have given Russia the opportunity to build up and develop its capabilities as well as to seek help from both China and North Korea.
They should have been pushed back hard and decisively from the start so that they understand that they just have to stop the aggressions.
Off-Topic, France

One of those affected is Ulla-Lena Lindqvist, who has around 40 external individuals registered at the summer cottage address. In an investigation by Hem & Hyra, the man believed to be behind the registration fraud is traced, a 47-year-old man from Kharkiv in Ukraine who charges for allowing Ukrainian refugees to register at an address in order to receive official mail.
According to the man, it costs 500 SEK per month for individuals to falsely register and 1,000 SEK for companies. Just on the eight addresses that Hem & Hyra has examined, this could generate 2.4 million in income in one year.
Lindqvist is shocked when she hears about the extent of the criminal activity.

If we do not want to escalate militarily, isn’t it time to unfreeze the Russian assets for Ukraine?
In some way, an airspace ban over Ukraine should imply an escalation. I just can’t figure out which one? 🙄
Not me either!
Actually, I don’t understand why NATO soldiers at the border with Belarus would be an escalation towards Russia either.
“U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the Trump administration does not seek to economically isolate Russia. He confirmed Washington views cooperation with Russia as one possible path to ending the war, adding, “President Trump sees no reason for economic isolation of Russia.””
It is noticeable that they have fired those who had knowledge about Russia, and that they suffer from fact resistance.
Europe tried to invite them into the warmth and trade with and invest in Russia since 91, and how did it go? Russia won’t change until it gets its reset, WW2 style. Until then, we should keep them at a distance.
“USA is ready to defend “every inch” of NATO’s territory. That’s what the country’s NATO ambassador says after Russian drones violated Polish airspace last night.

and then they just shot down 4-9 out of 19 drones.
Why though?
Trump will probably put a stop to it if it starts to burn.
I am inclined to believe you Johan, as you wrote in yesterday’s thread “USA Knew”
So, you do that?
Then I want to hear Putin issue a public apology (which at the same time is to acknowledge that Russia is incompetent for not being able to keep track of its drones).
“Russia denies intentionally attacking targets in Poland. This is reported by Reuters, citing a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“We are ready to have discussions about this with the Polish Ministry of Defense,” the statement reads.
The West considers it unlikely that the Russian violation of Polish airspace last night was not planned. …”

So typical of Russia. “It was a mistake, and we want to discuss it, if you strike back, then you are the stupid ones wanting war, we are also victims here, it was not intentional”
And so it goes on, some other day, there are new violations, maybe somewhere else.
DeepStateMap with Ukrainian successes! ✊👊
The Ukrainian Defense Forces cleared Volodymyrivka, pushed back the enemy near Razine, Zolotyi Kolodyazh and Novotoretske. The enemy advanced in Serebryanske forestry.
💥⚔️👍 Looks like 🇺🇦AFU is cutting off the breakthrough to the north (towards Zolotyi Kolodiaz) from two directions (Razone, to the north and Novotoretske, to the south). Quite a significant encirclement if successful.
👍 It would be incredibly nice if they manage to capture them there as well!
Explosions in Vilnius Suburbs. Orlen Lietuva Wagons on Fire
Eight liquefied gas wagons belonging to the Orlen Lietuva concern caught fire at a liquefied gas filling station in the suburbs of Vilnius.
Some of the wagons were carrying cargo from the company’s oil refinery in Mazeikiai.
According to the Associated Press, explosions were heard in the area and plumes of smoke were visible throughout Vilnius. Local residents were warned to stay indoors.

“A massive explosion rocked the suburbs of the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius earlier this morning, after a fire erupted inside a railway yard at a liquefied gas filling station on the outskirts of the city, with the fire quickly spreading to a nearby train, igniting at least eight of the railcars, causing the explosion. There is nothing right now to suggest that the incident is linked to this morning’s intrusion into Lithuanian Airspace from Belarus or any other form of foul play, with the cause believed to have been a “violation of safety regulations,” according to the Lithuanian Interior Ministry.”

So it will continue for a while with how we describe everything even though it is obvious.
Do you think two lightning strikes in two weeks that both times blacked out Gotland was it or was it Russia?
When was the last time the whole of Gotland was blacked out?
When was the last time the whole of Gotland was blacked out twice in two weeks?
When was the last time the whole of Gotland was blacked out by lightning strikes?
In the final of “Vi i Femman” 2025, class MXT, from inside the cage, answered the following question about power outages on the entire island of Gotland:
For question A we answer:
It was about a year ago, on 2024-07-20.
For question B we answer:
2018-09-02 – 2018-09-07, there were three outages within five days.
For question C we answer:
2019-07-13.
The answers were completely correct and therefore class MXT won this year’s round of “Vi i Femman”. Tears of joy flowed when the team received the gold trophy and the standing ovations from the audience!
Here are the 10 most recent major outages up to 2025 (not all of them apply to the entire island of Gotland):
2024-07-20 – Two outages the same afternoon/evening; affecting approximately ~25,000 customers.
2022-04-05 – Entire Gotland without power after failed maintenance in Ygne; electricity restored by lunchtime. ~43,000 subscribers.
2020-09-25 – Entire Gotland without electricity from around 14:30; restored after ~2 hours. ~40-43,000 customers.
2019-07-13 – Entire Gotland without power from 04:32; cause: lightning strike on the mainland. ~40-43,000 customers.
2019-01-23 – Entire Gotland without power around 15:00; back around 16:00. ~40-43,000 customers.
2018-09-07 – Entire Gotland without power on Friday morning; related to work on the mainland cable; back around 10:30-12:30. ~40-43,000 customers.
2018-09-02 – Entire Gotland without power twice on the same day (afternoon and late evening), several hours of impact. ~40-43,000 customers.
2018-07-13 – Major outage followed by another one that affected half the island, 15,000-20,000 customers affected in the second one.
2017-11-15 – Large parts of Gotland (Visby and the entire northern part of the island) without power, many thousands affected, back within ~20 minutes for most.
2017-08-22 – Entire Gotland without power shortly after 12 o’clock, suspected thunderstorm, back after ~40 minutes. ~40-43,000 customers.
The Russians have been going on for a long time 😶
Yes, they train at least once a year to camouflage Gotland.
In 2021, they were a bit busy with preparations for the war in Ukraine, so that year it didn’t happen. The same thing in 2023, they had a bit of a manpower shortage after sending in everything they had in Bakhmut, but now the order has been restored.
It’s nice when you get the credit 😀
Has anyone heard anything from Carsten Bauer since yesterday – he has given Russia until 2028 before they could do anything?

https://omni.se/a/QMGaPW
I’m telling you – Trump knew.
Ah, yes, that’s another way to interpret it!
19 Russian drones in Poland. Many red lines should have been crossed, but the reaction from the EU and NATO does not inspire confidence. It’s sad that we don’t have stronger, clearer leadership! The explanation partly lies in the fact that the EU’s main purpose has been to counter internal conflicts. External matters were supposed to be handled by the USA, which is now faltering, and there is no plan B. Recently, Xi stood talking about peace with Putin and Kim, with smiling Lukashenko right behind, and it’s hard to ignore the feeling that this marks a shift in global power balance. Johan has seen this for half a year, but it still gives some kind of bitter aha feeling when it becomes obvious.
Wait until Russia stands and jumps in the Baltics and we try to find explanations for why it’s not an article 5 – we will have to sit down with deception 😀
What is a little unsettling is that Russia has assessed the situation completely correctly, they have it under control.
There is now a whole range of soft measures that we should deliver today –
– “we allow Ukraine to target all targets in Russia with our donated weapons”.
– “We relocate all international training of Ukrainian units to the border with Belarus inside UA”.
– “all frozen Russian funds go directly to Ukraine today”.
– “today 10 brigades enter the Baltics”.
– “to prevent this from happening again, Europe will shoot down all Russian west of the Dnieper”.
Exactly, take one of the prepared cards and put it on the table right now. No fuss, no chatter, no delay.
If they complain – move on to the next card.
This is about dressage, talking doesn’t work, only consistency with the whip/treats. And immediate reward is important, otherwise the animal won’t understand what is connected to what.
👍
Yes, there is a lot we could do, but I guess one will once again be disappointed.
I would guess that it will be a thumbs down, like sanctions and maybe reinforced LV at the border with Belarus.
Yes, the only one with somewhat of a mandate to say anything about this has said “Here we go”
🤣🤣
The best part – everyone is trying to find explanations when the simplest thing is that Trump knew this was happening and says “now it’s war with Europe, oh boy 😶”
You are probably right, it doesn’t really feel like the EU has built an organization and a mindset to handle this type of situation, and we haven’t learned much in 3.5 years either.
Now we did trust the US until recently when Trump clearly showed that we have to fend for ourselves. Hopefully, they will address it. It’s not just about Europe’s security, if we are to resist China (and later India) in terms of trade and self-sufficiency, we probably also need to make some heavy joint efforts within the EU.
By the way, nice to see you here again!
Thank you for the site and all the time you put into this!! I rarely have time to read more than a fraction, but it’s always top-notch.

Got a bit interested in the patch “NAFO Stop Oil”.
“Special Kherson Cat 14th NAFO Campaign”
https://www.help99.co/patches/special-kherson-cat-14th-nafo-campaign
I think, unlike all fear mongerers and journalists – they are also here on the thread – that Russia is in deep trouble now. They have no position of strength. Ukraine is holding its ground and the Russian Donetsk seems to be just a dream. The Russians have their terror bombings as their trump card but Ukraine is showing exceptional resilience. Russia is stuck. What should the Russians do to achieve their total triumph in Ukraine? Some 22.45 percent of eastern Ukraine is not enough to hold any victory speeches in Red Square. Russia has no strong position now. I get tired of the talk about Russia testing NATO defense in Poland. I believe more that it is about Russia seeing an escalation as an opportunity to get out of its dilemma. But the world should not fall for that trick.
I pretty much agree with you. I don’t think Zapad will lead to more than what we’ve seen today. A bit of provocation at its peak. Russia is fully occupied in Ukraine. If China were to join, that would of course be a different matter, but I don’t believe that either. Greater risk that China will attempt something against Taiwan in the future.
However, I would still like to see the EU come up with a strong response. Not bombing Russia or attacking them, but something that signals to Russia that they have crossed a boundary (which they have done both figuratively and literally).
The Russians are definitely having a tough time in Donetsk. Reports confirming this come in regularly. Especially in recent weeks. What does escalation mean in this context? And how would escalation help Russia?
Yes – RU has gotten stuck in Ukraine and is counting meters for hundreds of dead.
Ukraine has also started to fight things that sting, which have been protected for three years.
The only way for Russia to move forward is to escalate – Poland is not the target at all.
Tomorrow, there will be a post trying to clarify the concepts for the world’s experts.
Russia can take the Baltics if we don’t stop them, if they get Europe against them, they are done for.
Russia is part of a larger game where China has the leading role, this is the smoke.
So I agree with you, but the absolutely crucial point is whether Europe will respond proportionately or not, I think?
Europe doesn’t need to do shit. Just keep Ukraine in its arms militarily and economically, and the Russians will take care of their own demise.
Assuming that Russia doesn’t have any plans other than to wear down existing fronts – if they attack from Transnistria in the north and Belarus in the south simultaneously and maintain pressure on the fronts, Ukraine might have a problem.
Or if they cross the Dnieper north of Kharkov.
North Korea has promised to send the rest of the 11th AC, Russia has an offensive strategic reserve, and they have over 400,000 in various private armies.
Now we are probably entering the most dangerous months of the war, as I have guessed, and we are already in the third year of the war, which would have brought down many countries by now.
Furthermore, Europe is heading into a recession, and soon it will be winter, making power outages difficult.
Why can’t we –
send frozen Russian funds to Ukraine.
declare that all restrictions on Ukraine have been lifted.
announce that we are shooting down robots and drones west of the Dnieper so they don’t reach Poland.
state that we are managing customs at the border with Belarus.
implement insurance requirements for the shadow fleet in the Baltic Sea and something else and stop everything
Or join the brigades that are to be located in the Baltic states in case of increased threat?
The problem with sending frozen assets is that it undermines the Euro as a global currency. It’s a feature that everyone, including dictators and war criminals, can use the currency freely. There are, by the way, other currencies to send. Then again, one could give up the Euro and the European bond market.
The Russians are definitely having a tough time in Donetsk. Reports confirming this keep coming in. Not least in recent weeks. What does an escalation in this context mean? And how would an escalation help Russia?
Looks like we’re going to have a big escape from Lyman 2.0 here?
Tell me more!
