Ukraine has attacked several regions in Russia, including the Ilsky oil refinery.

Ukraine conducted an extensive drone attack on several locations in Russia overnight. The oil refinery in Ilsky in the Krasnodar krai region was hit, resulting in a major fire. Russia’s air defense in Krasnodar claims to have shot down at least 20 Ukrainian drones. Local residents report hearing at least 10 explosions, whether they are from anti-aircraft fire or drones hitting their targets is not clear, but regardless, the result was that the refinery caught fire. The refinery produces approximately 6.4MT per year. Several airports were also closed after the drone attacks. Video showing the fire.

Russian losses in Ukraine

Relatively low losses overall, which also seems to align with the somewhat lower Russian activities (even though the number of battles was still high, but the battles could of course be initiated by Ukraine).

  • 890 KIA
  • 2 Tanks
  • 3 AFVs
  • 4 Artillery systems
  • 614 UAVs
  • 2 Cruise missiles
  • 71 Vehicles and Fuel tanks

Russian activities

Unusually little artillery and suicide drones, even though the number of battles was still high. It may be that Ukraine is on the offensive. This could explain the many clashes while the Russians may not have been prepared and have not had time to carry out counterattacks with drones and artillery.

  • 201 Battles
  • 81 airstrikes (including five missiles)
  • 200 KAB
  • 4,574 Suicide drones
  • 2,306 Artillery attacks (56 from MLRS)

    1. Well, there you have a point. It has been like that on several occasions. Whether it’s intentional, or if one is busy with other things so there is a delay, one doesn’t know. Have also noticed that a little later there will be a day or two with high numbers, which are probably accumulated.

  1. “Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces reported FP 2 drone strikes on an Iskander missile storage site in Pasichne in occupied Crimea and a Rubikon remote piloting post in Vysoke in occupied Zaporizhzhia region. From February 9 to 14, more than 10 Russian military sites were”

  2. “Ukrainiska drönare angreps enligt uppgift Rysslands region Perm, riktade mot kemifabriken Metafrax i Gubakha. Lokalmedia nämnde sex explosioner följt av en stor brand. Försvarsföretag i Perm evakuerades och mobila internettjänster upplevde störningar över hela regionen.”

  3. No news is expected during the day from the trilateral talks on peace in Ukraine. This was announced by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, as reported by Reuters.

The talks, which are set to begin in the afternoon, are taking place behind closed doors in Geneva. Russia has replaced its negotiator compared to the previous round in Abu Dhabi. The ultra-conservative former Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky is now leading the delegation, which according to Yle’s Russia correspondent Anders Mård signals a tougher stance.

“When Vladimir Medinsky is at the table, the other party can always expect at least two major themes: Russian spheres of interest and the Russian world,” he writes in an analysis.

  4. “Russia is starting to drown in oil The capacity of oil storage facilities in Russia is approaching exhaustion as oil companies face increasing difficulties in selling to India, Reuters reports citing analysts’ data.

The inability to store oil will lead to oil companies being forced to reduce production — by about 300,000 barrels per day by March–April, Rystad Energy predicts.

Due to difficulties in selling oil, Russian companies have already reduced production by 100,000 barrels per day in December and by an additional 26,000 in January.”

  5. Sanna Marin, Former PM of Finland: “Ukrainians seek long-lasting, just peace, which cannot be made by Putin’s terms. We fool ourselves if we believe Putin wants to negotiate peace.

The only way to stop this war is to support Ukraine. We have been supporting, but the support, financial or armed, has come too little too late. That’s why the war continues.

If we really want this war to end, we must make Russia suffer enough so Putin is forced to the table.

    1. She must have read the blog 🙂

But Putin himself will hardly come to the negotiating table unless it’s about a surrender. Trump is trying to pressure Ukraine to surrender, but Europe has taken over much of the USA’s role in Ukraine.

Putin will end up like one of his predecessors, lying on a couch in his bunker with a hole in his head, or moaning in pain on the floor while those around him just wait for him to die.
