Ukrainian drones attacked the Novorossiysk oil terminal during the night, and according to reports, it caught fire; a residential building was also damaged. The mayor confirms that an attack occurred and that debris fell on the industrial area and near a residential building but does not provide further details. Read more here.
Russian losses
Russian losses of wounded and killed soldiers have now surpassed 1.5 million. That is an almost incomprehensibly large number of people, and I hope this is also recognized by the Russians. How many wounded and killed are they willing to sacrifice for Putin? Many are celebrating this milestone, and it is clear that it is positive that there are now fewer soldiers who can murder, rape, and torture Ukrainians, but at the same time, one knows that it has also cost many Ukrainian soldiers their lives, so my feelings are somewhat mixed.
Ukraine has marked the milestone by including lemons in the loss report. I looked up what that could mean, and it is a form of wordplay.
Lemon is “лимон” (limón) in both Ukrainian and Russian and is used as slang for “one million,” mostly when referring to money.

“1,500,000 – the price of aggression that the Russian Federation is trying to hide
Today, the total combat losses of the enemy’s personnel since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine have exceeded the mark of 1,500,000 occupiers killed and wounded.
This is the largest losses in a single war that the Russian Federation’s army has suffered since World War II. This figure exceeds the total losses of the Soviet and Russian armies in all wars and armed conflicts of the second half of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century combined.
This is 100 times more than the losses of the USSR in Afghanistan over 10 years.
This is 125 times more than the officially recognized losses of the aggressor in the First and Second Chechen Wars.
Behind every recorded Russian loss stands a specific occupier who came with weapons to Ukrainian soil, and the titanic, daily joint work of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and the entire Ukrainian people.
The fight continues. Glory to Ukraine!”

We are probably getting started now, but maybe the UK wasn’t so smart here, they will probably have the USA after them.
Burnham should have waited with Israel, where Netanyahu also seems to be in a weak position anyway.
All of Europe must focus on the UA war now until it is resolved.
Spain is somewhat the same with Ceuta. It is surprising to me how state-supported trafficking hybrid warfare can still work.
Now everyone + the UK are sending interceptors to UA, and if they can just shoot down the missiles, Putin’s ace for the year will be gone.
Trump has asked Putin to lie low until after the midterm elections – we pray to the gods that Europe manages this well, a chance we did not deserve but we got it.
What type of interceptors does “all” send? Are there sufficient quantities of non-Patriot interceptors that can counter ballistic missiles? Freya is presumably a future solution, not something available today.
Of course, there are some Patriots in the world, but they are probably both too few and kept for possible future use.

Have you noticed that all supposedly pro-Russian accounts on X are urging to vote for the Örebro Party or AfS, that they want to remove the current government is clear.
The accounts they have on their radar as pro-Russian for a long time.
I haven’t seen anything about it, I’ve hardly had time to hang out on social media except to scour for Ukraine news for the blog.
Also, I am blocked by many pro-Russian accounts.. 😄

Depending on who they would have met, it might still have been profitable to use 500 million dollars.
One conflict at a time seems to be what the world can handle, it’s a shame that we are so terribly dependent on the USA when it comes to weapons. However, it seems like we are slowly waking up from that delusion.
Looks like none of the cruise missiles was shot down.. ?
** Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with Iskander-M ballistic missiles, S8000 Banderol missiles and 196 Shahed, Gerbera and decoy drones, including jet-powered Shaheds. Ukraine said 165 UAVs were downed or suppressed, with missile and drone impacts recorded at 23 locations. **

Europe is doing too little to deter Russia from hybrid attacks, warn defense and intelligence sources who have spoken to the Financial Times. A thwarted drone attack on Leipzig airport is seen as a sign that Moscow can act without facing sufficient resistance.

“The USA is raising the stakes in the trade conflict with Canada and is stopping imports of dairy products, motorcycles, and alcohol from the country, reports Bloomberg. The import ban will take effect in three weeks, according to the White House.
– President Trump will continue to use the tools at his disposal to defend the interests of American workers and exporters, says US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer in a statement.
Canada’s Minister of Trade Dominic LeBlanc announces that the government is evaluating the situation. On Tuesday, Canadian retaliatory tariffs against the USA ranging from 15 to 50 percent came into effect.”
Meanwhile:
“EU and Canada want to create a far-reaching and deepened partnership covering everything from trade to security issues. The new alliance is intended to reduce the dominance that China and the USA have on the global stage, writes Bloomberg citing sources.
On September 16, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is expected to give a speech outlining the guidelines for the partnership, writes TT. The following day, Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney is expected to give a speech in the EU Parliament.
No public statements have been made either from the European or Canadian side.”

“Map Quest, a North American mapping service with its heyday in the 90s, has received an unexpected boost, reports Forbes.
At the end of last week, Map Quest announced on X that it does not intend to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America. The background is that Trump, in the midst of the escalating tariff dispute with Canada, decided on a name change. Google has since changed the name in its mapping service for American users.
On Sunday, over 100,000 people downloaded Map Quest in the USA and Canada. It was the free app’s best day in a decade.
Map Quest was launched on the web in 1996, long before Google Maps and smartphones. It became known for allowing users to search for driving directions and print them out before road trips.”

Off-Topic, AI
We are starting to be outpaced by AI in more and more areas.
However, I heard from a customer that he usually tests AI using Swedish crosswords, and they still fail there. Now, crossword solvers are probably not a future profession anyway, otherwise maybe it would have been something to invest in. 😄
“Open AI states that the company has solved one of mathematics’ so-called millennium problems with the help of artificial intelligence.
It concerns the Navier–Stokes problem, which deals with how liquids and gases move, and which mathematicians have been trying to prove for nearly a century. About 10,000 AI agents were assigned the task and reached a solution in 88 hours, at a cost of millions of dollars.
The Wall Street Journal describes the breakthrough as the most significant so far achieved with the help of AI in mathematics. The New York Times, in turn, writes that it shows how AI is fundamentally changing the conditions for advanced mathematics.
As recently as a few days ago, Anthropic also presented a mathematical breakthrough, when the company’s AI system tackled the famous proof of ‘Fermat’s Last Theorem’ in just eleven days.”
