I don’t think yesterday’s discussion holds that D shouldn’t mix too much with Zelensky because of the election because Harris has capitalized on it directly, actually the day after, and got a valuable endorsement from a larger group in a swing state.
And even if Harris or Biden didn’t receive Zelensky at the government plane, at least the Trump camp makes it sound like they are best buddies and that Zelensky is in the USA to campaign for Harris.

This IS very strange because in words everyone supports Zelensky 100% so much that the Trump camp now accuses Zelensky of influencing the election in favor of D.
But in action they don’t support Zelensky, the USA has stopped sending everything (if the rumor is true) and the EU doesn’t dare send what they really want because the USA looks grumpy and waves contracts around.

A very good comment yesterday was also that the USA goes as far as to disadvantage its own arms industry here. The EU has announced that they are trying to unite and produce all weapons themselves without parts from the USA, for example.

The more I try to figure this out the less I understand. All very beautiful and professional explanatory models that come up in the thread fall quite quickly if you care to delve a little deeper into the matter.
A new theory that has been launched is that the USA has learned from all the wars in MENA and will continue to be passive going forward but if China were to jump on Taiwan you will see fireworks but that is just a guess from my side.
It is hard to arrive at any other conclusion than that Ukraine is a special case here.

Where Ukraine sailed in and took prisoners is roughly in the middle of the area RU controls on the map inside Sejm.
