The Russians have 10 brigades left there, many of which are probably worn out.
UA has 13 brigades and 20 battalion groups, almost double, and most are elite units unlike the Russians who have pulled their better units from the area.
GUR are not ones you want on the other side of the defense line.
Putin has seriously weakened the Kharkiv front here but we already knew that.
Since UA manages to maintain this numerical (and qualitative) advantage, it means that it is not a crisis situation over in Kursk.
The conclusion is that UA retains the initiative on the northern front and that Putin is unable to regain ground.
Likely there will be further offensive operations, but it’s sad that a point in Zelensky’s peace plan is permission to continue in Kursk 😭

If you ever during this war want to try to understand what it feels like to be a soldier in Ukraine, the video below is probably a pretty good motivator for that. Imagine lying in your reinforced trench or bunker and everything shakes and the noise level is high enough to make you a little bit crazy like Daniel Heldén over time.

That is an absolutely massive salvo against a geographically limited area and I think you can see some FAB bombs among the craters?
The 72nd has held Vuhledar the entire war but the FSB bombs have such a large effective component and good accuracy that they have proven to be very effective. Russia is mass-producing them now and releasing 4000 per month.
Since RU discovered how good they were, UA has been begging on their knees for over a year to be allowed to shoot down the weapon carriers but has not received permission from the USA.
And Ukraine is retreating on several front sections because of them.
They have hit airports inside Ukraine because they were allowed to and have tried to delay against the airbases themselves but with poor results.
Exactly everyone in the West, officers, experts, and politicians know the enormous damage the FAB bombs cause and that is why RU is advancing.
So all this dragging with the necessary permits is absolutely remarkable – Why don’t they give Ukraine the ability to defend itself so Russia doesn’t win?
What is the ulterior motive behind that?
F-16s are needed and Denmark has openly admitted that they would have gladly sent theirs in 2022 if they had gotten permission from the USA.
Air defense is needed and UA is not getting enough, there are supposedly 500 Patriots in storage and Raytheon can build 12 per month but they get no orders from the Biden administration.
Ukraine has throughout the war tried to buy surplus materiel but has constantly been denied, most recently Australia got annoyed that the USA stopped them from sending 58 decommissioned M1 Abrams to Ukraine.
But they have also tried to place orders for new materiel.
They are not allowed that either or alternatively the whole West is ordering new materiel for their own armed forces so the queue is about 10 years.
It doesn’t stop there – Greenpeace has now revealed (really good work by Greenpeace by the way!) that European ports receive the shadow fleet’s oil deliveries.

Zelensky presents a winning strategy in the USA but the message is –

-Let us fight as we want, which is not the case today even though Ukraine acted first and asked later 😀
Sometimes I feel a bit conflicted, like today, about whether Biden deserves all the criticism and ridicule, but then I remember that at the direct request (a bakelite phone call) from the arch-villain Putin, he forced Zelensky to release the entire VDV from Kherson, all 18-22 regiments that were on the right bank and which Zalizhny planned to encircle by driving a wedge down along the left bank.
This was at a time when the Russian army was at an absolute low point, and if the entire VDV could have been paraded as prisoners of war, it would have been a devastating blow to Putin.
And of course, that was why Putin called Biden and asked them to force Ukraine to release his VDV.
So Biden chose to do Putin’s bidding on this issue instead of the Ukrainian children’s.
Would Prigozhin’s coup have had a better chance of succeeding if the VDV had been defeated and the army in full retreat late 2022 – we will never know.
Instead, thousands of Ukrainian soldiers died having to break through minefields on the right bank so Putin wouldn’t get upset.
Do you know what enormous risk Biden took in this – that Ukraine would turn against Zelensky and collapse because that is a betrayal that was probably very hard to swallow for many.
But what are a few thousand dead Ukrainians who leave behind over-stressed wives and traumatized children for a higher noble purpose – not to upset Putin so he doesn’t start World War III. The world was saved, there was no world war 👍
The most watered-down argument in world history – can’t Biden just do like Scholz and admit that the motives for his actions don’t exist. Scholz openly says now that Taurus is not coming because that’s just how he decided it – like a teenager who has run out of arguments.

Now I’m launching a radical theory for which there is no evidence – Ukraine has contact with an opposition they believe in and the Kursk offensive was carried out in consultation with them and this opposition got the army to withdraw units from Kursk the week before so the army was on their side.
The purpose was to weaken Putin and force a change of power with an opposition that is acceptable enough for Ukraine to align with.
The USA knew nothing about Kursk, we know that, so this is something the USA has no control over.
If the USA accepts the peace proposal or at least the point that Kursk may continue, that would be good.
For us in the thread, this is very simple, the whole EU should want this and the USA should think that at least EU security is important enough to agree to this.
Or at least let the EU decide for themselves and stay out of the matter.
Putin is wounded and limping around and now Ukraine is asking to deliver the final resounding slap here that will bring him down to the ground as a very small crying shaking heap.
That is why the meeting in the USA is so incredibly important and if Zelensky doesn’t get what he asks for, we have a potential problem to deal with for the EU going forward.
That means that we as EU citizens should hold very firmly to Zelensky and criticize those who oppose his world-leading peace proposal very harshly.
Everything is never as it seems and we will see the result of the meeting here, hope is the last thing to leave a person.
I am also a bit seasoned and do not believe that the EU and USA will get better at controlling that sanctions are followed. It’s a bad joke that the shadow fleet is now approaching ports in the EU and the oil is flowing 😡

That one is a bit tricky because we have gone through and posted it in the thread but where the evidence is exactly is not entirely clear.
A bit simplified –
In autumn 2022, the VDV slipped out 3 weeks before UA took the area on the right bank of the Dnieper and we were all very disappointed. Dengamle was the most disappointed who still today feels cheated out of Operation Badanka that I painted for him.
Gregg posted that the discussion among the soldiers was that Zelensky had made a deal with Putin and released the VDV. They themselves felt it didn’t add up because they had to wait until the VDV was gone and then they attacked, or something like that.
I was of the opinion that something like that was not possible then (young and unspoiled) and found explanatory models for why the VDV slipped out.
Zalizhny has stated that NATO commanders forced him not to attack down along the left bank of the Dnieper in autumn 2022 but had to retake the area on the right bank and then Sirsky carried out Kharkiv which I believe the USA approved.
The NATO commanders are therefore Americans.
Zalizhny’s plan was to capture the VDV 😀
Zelensky has stated, like some Twitter user quoting his statement that Putin called the USA and asked to have the VDV released or similar wording. I don’t remember the exact wording but that it was a statement from either Zelensky or something official. This came when Zelensky started telling all sorts of things when he had enough.
We also know today that the USA stopped the first invasion of Belgorod, did not know about the second, does not allow anyone to shoot into Russia with their ammunition, does not allow airports and all sorts of things.
We also know that the Russian MoD calls Lloyd Austin when they find out something they don’t like and puts pressure because they called Lloyd Austin before the Kursk offensive this year.
And we know that Putin exclaimed on August 6 that the USA should take Ukraine by the ear so they stop fighting in Kursk Oblast and he gets back predictability.
Above you have all the information and I find it unlikely that the USA had nothing to do with the VDV, but we do not have irrefutable evidence before Biden admits it on White House letterhead with double stamps of course.
