Russia apparently begins to struggle with recruitment
The Irkutsk region in Siberia has increased the compensation for people recruiting foreign citizens to the Russian military. The increased recruitment bonus is now 1.5 million rubles (17,800 dollars) per recruit. This is currently the highest reward in any Russian region. 18,000 USD is a lot of money in Russia, where the average salary is roughly 600-800 USD/month. That is just the recruitment bonus; of course, the recruited person is supposed to receive their own compensation as well, if they get to see any money before being consumed in Ukraine. Previously, the compensation was up to 400,000 rubles (4,700 dollars), so the compensation in the region has almost quadrupled in seven months.

This also means that there is now a distinction between recruiting foreign or domestic soldiers. The bonus for recruiting Russian citizens from other regions in Russia is lower and ranges between 400,000 to 800,000 rubles (9,500 dollars). Read more here.

“A Russian missile destroyed our apartment in Odessa. The only thing that survived was a Roland Garros towel,” Yastremska wrote on Instagram. Pictures and videos she shared showed an orange towel from the French Open hanging among the wreckage of a residential building. “A piece of world tennis survived a Russian missile. Operational information as of 08:00 on September 13, 2026, regarding the Russian invasion

Glory to Ukraine!

The 1663rd day of the Russian Federation’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 249 combat contacts were recorded.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted two missile strikes and 98 air strikes, during which 348 guided aerial bombs were dropped. Additionally, the attackers used 11,357 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,815 shellings against communities and our troops’ positions.

In the Sumy region, the communities of Pysarivka, Ulanove, Khotin, Yastrubshchyna, Sadky, Ivolzhanske, Vilna, Mohrytsia, Luzhky, and Seredyna-Buda were subjected to hostile artillery shelling. In the Chernihiv region, Hirsk was targeted. Additionally, areas around Sinne, Sukhodil, Tovstodubove, Luzhky, and Kindrativka in the Sumy region were subjected to air strikes.

In the last 24 hours, the defense forces’ aviation, missile units, and artillery struck two areas with concentrations of enemy personnel, four artillery systems, and a command post for unmanned aerial vehicles.

On the northern Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, our defenders repelled 10 enemy assault attempts in the areas around Sadky, Bachivsk, Ulanove, Hirky, and Ryzhivka.

On the southern Slobozhansky sector, Ukrainian units repelled 14 enemy attacks. The attackers tried to advance in the areas around Izbytske, Starytsia, and Lyman, as well as in the direction of Vilcha and Komisarove.

On the Kupyansk sector, the enemy attacked three times in the areas around Kurylivka and Novoosynove.

Attempts to break into our defense were repelled on the Lyman sector, where the occupiers conducted four attacks in the area around Lyman and in the direction of Novoselivka and Cherneshchyna.

On the Sloviansk sector, the enemy conducted six assault attempts in the areas around Zakitne and Yampil, as well as in the direction of Mykolaivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka.

On the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy conducted no assault operations in the last 24 hours.

On the Kostiantynivka sector, 15 attacks were recorded. The attackers conducted assault operations in the areas around Kostiantynivka and Illinivka, as well as in the direction of Rozkishne and Rusyn Yar.

On the Pokrovsk sector, our defenders repelled 29 attacks. The enemy was active in the areas around Shakhove, Molodetske, Bilytske, Serhiivka, and Udachne and also conducted assaults in the direction of Toretske, Kucheriv Yar, Stepy, Dorozhnie, Svitlé, Shevchenko, Matiashéve, Novohrishyne, Hryshyne, and Novopidhorodne.

On the Oleksandrivka sector, the attackers conducted an attack in the direction of the community of Rybne.

On the Huljajpole sector, the occupiers attacked nine times. The enemy tried to advance in the direction of Rivne, Kosivtseve, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, and Charivne.

On the Orikhiv sector, our defenders stopped three enemy attempts to advance in the areas around Mala Tokmachka, Shcherbaky, and Stepnohirsk.

On the Prydniprovsk sector, the enemy conducted no assault operations in the last 24 hours.

On the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs have been detected that the enemy is forming offensive groupings.

In total, the Russian attackers’ losses in the last 24 hours amounted to 1,520 personnel. Additionally, two tanks, eight armored fighting vehicles, 77 artillery systems, five rocket artillery systems, two air defense systems, 17 ground-based missile systems, 2,142 unmanned aerial vehicles, eight missiles, 410 vehicles, and five units of special equipment were neutralized.

Localized battles according to the indicated front sectors: 94 attacks. 94 out of a total of 249 recorded combat contacts corresponds to about 38 percent, or if you look at it the other way, the unlocalized ones are then 155 (which theoretically could be Ukraine’s attacks), and 155/95 gives a ratio of 1.64.

    There is clearly an increased amount of unlocalized attacks in recent weeks. So not only fewer Russian ones, which is also the case. And they are connected: Ukrainian attacks put a wet blanket over the Russians who cannot go on the offensive. We have seen the wet blanket throughout the spring, where the Russian attacks, which until autumn had strong spikes in the data, have become more even. In recent weeks, a week’s battles have been gathered on Mondays/weekends with, among other things, 7-day / 28-day. .

      It certainly looks high but lacks running numbers so it’s hard to know how it has been lately.

        The amplitude of the abrupt attacks during the autumn was high and variable, and when the unlocalized ones started, the amplitude decreased. 

        Or put differently, the jagged curve up to and including autumn lost its jaggedness during the spring. This happened as the unlocalized ones steadily increased.

          It is interesting.

          One explanation could be that when Ukraine was not under as much pressure, Russia could carry out more extensive attacks at irregular intervals; now they are increasingly forced to defend themselves instead, which perhaps means they never get the opportunity to regroup before larger operations.
