Ukraine attacked a refinery, a pumping station, and Wildberries during the night – Russian losses

Ukraine attacked the oil refinery in Novospasskoye in Russia’s Ulyanovsk region with drones, which led to a large fire breaking out. The relatively small refinery has a production capacity of only 0.6MT/year and is located about 650 kilometers from the border with Russia. It mainly produces petroleum products.

In the city of Tuymazy in the Republic of Bashkortostan, an oil pumping station was attacked, and thick black smoke from the resulting fire has been reported.

The Russian city of Voronezh was also subjected to a massive Ukrainian drone attack during the night, and it again appears that one of Wildberries’ logistics centers was the target. Videos on social media show a large explosion and a fire has broken out in the area, but it seems uncertain whether Wildberries itself or something else in the area was hit.

  1. **U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Manila last night to discuss Russia’s war against Ukraine. The Russian demands are the same – which I translate from Lavrov’s horse language: Ukraine withdraws from Donbas; the West stops delivering weapons to Ukraine; and Europe stops supporting Ukraine, rearming itself, and countering Russian malicious influence.

    1. Lavrov is just silly, but sure, let Russia drive itself completely to the bottom and maybe we can be rid of them for a few years afterwards.

  2. After two consecutive days with well under one hundred Ukrainian attacks and a falling ratio, today’s report is clearly above this level that has been maintained since the spring escalation. With an increased ratio despite the Russian pressure also rising. A clear Russian offensive in Pokrovsk in the last 24 hours.

    1. Funny, it only translated what was within ** to Swedish, but not the text I wrote before.. I haven’t given any instructions about that, so everything should be translated. AI does a bit as it pleases.

It could get messy the day AI is implemented in most things.

“I told you to order a pizza home, NOT a salad!” and AI replies “According to my data, you have gained 1.4 kilos in the last month, you shouldn’t eat pizza!”

  3. Hope this is not due to increased exports to some of Russia’s less scrupulous neighboring countries.🤔

“The German truck company Traton, which is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and includes Scania, states in its interim report that order intake increased by 30 percent to 181,944 vehicles during the first half of the year.

Traton has previously announced preliminary figures for the second quarter and then reported that the quarter’s adjusted result was 957 million euros, with an adjusted operating margin of 8.1 percent.

Revenue during the quarter ended in June rose slightly to 21,996 million euros.”

  4. Off-Topic

“The oil price continues to rise and a barrel of Brent crude costs just over 96 dollars in the morning, the highest level in six weeks. This is reported by Bloomberg.

During the night, the Houthi rebels in Yemen stated that they have attacked two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea.

    – If this route is disrupted, the pressure on the oil market will only worsen, says Daniel Hynes, commodity strategist at ANZ Group, to the news agency.

The oil price has risen more than 30 percent this month and analysts believe that the price could rise above 100 dollars later this year if the situation in the Middle East does not stabilize.”

      1. Unfortunately, it has not gone so well so far and support for the war among Americans seems to only be decreasing.

There is a risk that it could become really prolonged and costly for everyone.

    1. Not so worried anymore that Ukraine will be pressured into peace, has not succeeded so far.

However, they themselves may partly start to get fed up, but then it is their decision and in that case I respect it. Then it depends, of course, in some cases on the fact that we have not done enough to help them to victory and we should be ashamed of that.

Why is Russia’s air defense failing to protect Moscow and the front lines? Former Navy SEAL squadron leader Chuck Pfarrer joins Jason Jay Smart to reveal how Vladimir Putin’s military is running out of radar, interceptors, and critical diesel fuel, leaving strategic assets exposed to relentless Ukrainian drone strikes. Without fuel, Russia cannot move its air defense platforms to mount a dynamic defense.

With Ukraine striking all ten of Russia’s largest oil refineries, Moscow faces a severe economic and logistical crisis. Meanwhile, occupied Crimea has de facto become an isolated island. From the shipping massacre in the Sea of Azov to the collapse of rail logistics across the heavily damaged Kerch Bridge, Ukrainian forces are systematically choking off Russia’s southern supply routes.

Inside frontline units, a chaotic “prison-yard” mentality thrives among surviving convicts while corrupt generals prioritize their own survival over honest reporting. Pfarrer and Smart analyze how Ukraine’s highly innovative long-range drone fleet is dismantling Russia’s industrial base, leaving a paranoid Kremlin with absolutely no plan for what comes next.

  6. Vladimir Putin has left occupied Crimea exposed as Ukrainian strikes tear apart the fuel routes keeping Russia’s forces supplied. Shipping traffic near the peninsula has fallen 55%, while Ukrainian drones have struck at least 159 Russian-linked vessels across the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. Tankers, cargo ships, tugboats, ports, ferries, and the M-14 highway corridor are all under pressure, forcing Moscow to choose between defending Crimea, protecting its supply network, and maintaining air defenses around the Russian capital and Putin’s residences.

Russia’s replacement route now requires a dangerous 640 km (400-mile) detour through occupied Mariupol and Berdyansk because the Kerch Bridge is operating at less than 25% of its former capacity. Burned fuel tankers and military vehicles increasingly mark the road, while concentrated convoys give Ukrainian drones more valuable targets. Disrupted diesel and specialist aviation-fuel deliveries are also weakening mobile air defenses, radar systems, generators, military transport, and aircraft operating from occupied Crimea. Russia can still move some supplies, but it can no longer guarantee when they will arrive or whether the ships and vehicles carrying them will survive.

Jason Jay Smart and former United States Navy SEAL squadron leader Chuck Pfarrer explain how Ukraine is eliminating Russia’s ability to reinforce Crimea during a battlefield emergency. Ukraine does not need to sink every vessel or destroy every truck. Delayed fuel, unreliable schedules, damaged ports, and exposed replacement routes already restrict what Russia can move, defend, and operate. Putin now faces a worsening strategic choice: pull defenses away from Moscow, leave Crimea increasingly vulnerable, or keep sending ships and convoys through routes Ukraine can strike repeatedly. The result is a Russian force with less fuel, weaker air cover, slower logistics, and fewer ways out.

  7. Moscow is reeling from a massive 400+ drone assault that triggered an unprecedented 8.5-hour lockdown, shutting down major aviation hubs like Domodedovo Airport and costing millions daily. To protect the Kremlin, Russia has deployed a desperate 94% surge in air defenses, mounting Pantsir units onto residential rooftops.

Behind the headlines, Vladimir Putin is cannibalizing Russia’s industrial core to sustain escalating frontline losses. With 83% of national freight reliant on railways, a 44% collapse in rail investment and a 37% drop in transport labor are causing major logistics operators, including mega-hubs like Yuzhnie Vorota, and one-third of builders to face imminent bankruptcy.

By crippling the Trans-Siberian supply network and striking core supply hubs, Ukraine is forcing the Kremlin to defend every front simultaneously. As military spending drains the Russian economy and public resentment toward returning veterans grows, Russia’s war machine is running out of time.

  8. American intelligence is investigating whether Russia may have secretly been involved in some of Iran’s attacks on American interests in the Middle East, Reuters reports. The suspicions have arisen since several CIA facilities were attacked with advanced drones. The news agency’s source emphasizes that these are only suspicions, but the effectiveness and precision of the attacks lead the intelligence service to believe that Iran may have received external assistance. Among the attacks under review are the bombing of the US embassy in Riyadh in early March and a CIA facility in eastern Iraq. More facilities, not publicly known to belong to the CIA, may also have been affected, Reuters writes. It is already known that Russia supports Iran in the country’s struggle against the outside world. Among other things, they are believed to provide Iran’s Shahed drones with Russian satellite navigation systems. The cooperation is mutual, as Iran supplies Russia with drones in their war against Ukraine. Both the White House and the Kremlin have chosen not to comment on Reuters’ information.

    https://omni.se/a/OklrQq

    1. Does Trump possibly want to maintain his good relationship with Putin? I guess none of this will come out, even if it turns out to be correct.

“Neither the White House nor the Kremlin wants to comment on Reuters’ information that Russia may be behind drone attacks on CIA targets in the Middle East, reports the news agency. The suspicions concern, among other things, the Iranian attack on the American embassy in Riyadh and a CIA facility in eastern Iraq. According to sources to Reuters, Iran is believed to have received help in attacks on up to a dozen American targets. The suspicions are based on the fact that these attacks have been more effective and precise, at a level that Iran is not believed to be able to achieve on its own. On Thursday, Reuters confronted the Kremlin with the information, but they then chose not to comment on it. The White House has also adopted the same strategy.”

      https://omni.se/a/OklrQq

    2. I don’t understand why Russia lets the USA bomb Iran to pieces? Are they cowardly or is it just one-way cooperation?
Iran should be furious when especially Russia, but also China, just wait and do nothing, say nothing.
The USA knows that Russia is helping Iran, why the hell do they let it continue?
Is it that all these impotent, small-dicked senile narcissists have a secret club and sacrifice everyone else for their own superiority?

      1. The Russians are completely occupied with their own war against Ukraine. Besides, they probably want to stay on good terms with Trump. It has been clear for some time that since Anchorage, they have hoped that the USA/Trump would take control of Ukraine and arrange a good peace for them. Iran might think that trouble is the world’s reward after having supplied RU with thousands of Shaheds.

    3. Now it is basically full-scale war and Russia-China are not on the US side?

      The laws of war apply.

But it’s good if Trump finds it harder to flatter Putin.

    1. It’s fun to misinterpret everything Trump says. I understand what he means and claim that he is right, even though of course it can be interpreted as dementia if one wants.

      1. Well, he probably means that it was the MAGA Republicans who won in all categories and that in turn will lead to the Republicans then taking the victory in Arizona.

But if you make that interpretation, it also means that he divides the Republicans into two camps, MAGA who are the elite and the rest who are trash and worthless.

That is actually even more stupid than the first option.

The sensible Republicans will get tired of him eventually, just like last time.
Already today, some actually dare to go against him.

        1. You have it backwards, MXT. MAGA has polarized the Republicans from the start. So far, it has not been about “already today’s waves” but rather still today’s waves…

An example is Liz Cheney, who was ostracized and lost to a MAGA representative in the election for the state of Wyoming’s representative to Congress, the latter backed by Trump. Liz Cheney is the daughter of Dick Cheney, who was a minister in several Bush administrations.

Did you, as an expert on Trump’s health, think you had a better grasp of his politics?

    2. What did they win in Arizona?

To me, it seems like the GOP has done quite a lot to try to win the midterms?

Just like the Democrats are trying as well.

Voter ID is reasonable but also an attempt to primarily remove D voters and they probably make it difficult to get this ID right now before the election?

The fact that it is even a discussion when you need ID and a passport for just about everything else is hard to understand for a Swede with our Tax Agency, but apparently they have been a bit lax there?

“Gerrymandering” both keep at it with as much as they can, rearranging districts and in other ways optimizing their own party’s chance to win.

We’ve probably already seen some election pork and there will surely be some free check in the mailbox stamped TRUMP some month before the election 😀

Then of course we have the other side of the coin, so far Trump hasn’t really cared at all about what Congress or the Senate has decided – Epstein, Iran, support to Ukraine and a lot more.

      1. The MAGA candidate and Trump-supported congressman Andy Biggs won the Republicans’ PRIMARY for the position of governor in Arizona ahead of the fall midterm elections.
Donald Trump’s attacks on John McCain are one of the absolute biggest reasons why Trump-supported MAGA candidates have struggled in Arizona in recent years.

  9. Here you have a whole article about the Germans’ betrayal,

Since 2024 they have had their own channel directly to Putin’s administration and they recently met.

“to end the war and normalize relations” means “we need Russian gas and will try to force Ukraine to agree to a ceasefire and cede territory”.

    https://www.reuters.com/world/azerbaijan-president-says-german-russian-talks-were-held-baku-2026-07-21/

We have long identified that LNG is the noose around our necks and I think the above proves that, it also proves our suspicion that several countries in Europe want to normalize relations with Russia directly.

That’s what happens when you shut down electricity production to save small birds, then you have to sacrifice Ukrainian children instead – consequences always come and there were many warnings about this at the time.

Most recently Rubio and Lavrov met.

Of course, Ukraine is not allowed to be involved at all in the question of the war of aggression against them – all this does is signal to Putin that he still has room to maneuver and thus prolongs the war.

Now they solved the political crisis, Khmera and Drapatyi made the Russians cry a lot by the way 🤣🤣

But we MUST support Ukraine here, the next big threat is a ceasefire which at least Germany seems to be trying to push together with Russia.

Merz is now pushing the line about a ceasefire. That “Ukraine shall get its land back” Germany has apparently abandoned. A ceasefire effectively gives Russia time to dig in where they stand, right?

    https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2026/06/25/8041055/

    What friends we have 😐

And if you still haven’t understood what the game is, even though it has been written many times, here is a statement from Merz from this spring – “Ukraine must cede territory to be allowed to join the EU”.

    https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/merz-suggests-ukraine-may-have-accept-territorial-loss-help-pave-way-eu-2026-04-27/

Does anyone seriously believe that Zelensky can go against that if it becomes a clear hard line from Europe?

I guess it is enough that it becomes a demand from one country, for example Germany, for it to have full effect?

German bastards, they have an almost divine ability to always end up on the wrong side of history 😡😡

    1. Be sure to answer you MXT that Ukraine probably will not listen.

Since EU membership is hanging there and a “distance country or else you won’t get it,” the question is whether Ukraine can hold out?

      1. Well, if it had been the case that the EU had issued that ultimatum to Ukraine, but they have not, and neither has Germany.

Then it becomes difficult for Ukraine to become members of the EU (and especially NATO) as long as the war is ongoing, so there is no real need for any blackmail over that. I doubt that Ukraine and Zelensky really expect to become EU members now, although they of course try.

All countries in the EU must approve a new EU member. Slovakia and the Czech Republic are probably more likely candidates to say no, maybe Poland as well.

Do you think that if all the other countries unanimously want to include Ukraine, Germany will then say no?

Or that they will really blackmail Ukraine already now by threatening that they will never approve their membership, neither now nor later if they do not give up the war?

Merz is probably more of a German stickler who focuses on all obstacles and problems, and he would certainly also gladly buy cheap Russian gas considering their economic problems.

He surely does what he can to influence Zelensky, but I do not at all believe that he would be so foolish as to attempt outright blackmail.

    2. Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has confirmed that secret talks took place in Baku from July 12 to 14 between former German politicians and Russian representatives, without the country’s knowledge. The meeting, which involved among others Ronald Pofalla and Viktor Zubkov, is regarded by German media as a Russian influence operation aimed at shaping perceptions of the war in Ukraine.

    3. Merz from this spring now this year – “Ukraine must cede land to join the EU”.

That was quite a strong exaggeration, wasn’t it?

He spoke in front of students at a school and said that it could end with Ukraine being forced to give up land.

“At some point, Ukraine will sign a ceasefire agreement; at some point, hopefully, a peace treaty with Russia. Then it may be that part of Ukraine’s territory is no longer Ukrainian,” Merz told students at the Carolus-Magnus-Gymnasium in Marsberg, a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, on Monday.

“If President (Volodymyr) Zelenskiy wants to communicate this to his own population and gain a majority for it, and he needs to hold a referendum on it, then he must at the same time tell the people: ‘I have opened the way to Europe for you’,” Merz added.

Kyiv’s EU accession progress had been blocked by Hungary’s nationalist premier Viktor Orban, but his defeat in elections earlier this month raised hopes it can move to the next step. Ukraine currently has the status of an official EU candidate.

Merz cautioned against raising hopes for rapid accession, however, saying Ukraine cannot join the bloc while at war and must first meet strict criteria including those regarding the rule of law and on fighting corruption.

“Zelenskiy had the idea of joining the EU on January 1, 2027. That will not work. Even January 1, 2028 is not realistic,” Merz said.

He proposed intermediate steps such as observer roles for Ukraine in EU institutions, which he said met broad approval among European leaders at their summit last week in Cyprus, which Zelenskiy attended.

It’s true that Merz is almost as slippery as the eel before him, but that he said Ukraine must cede land to join the EU is something you have made up yourself.

      1. You are the one pasting the quotes yourself 😀

I’ll break it down for you –

        1. Ukraine is not allowed to join the EU as long as there is a war, says Merz (a real trickster because a ceasefire is still war and guess if RU will drag out a peace agreement after the ceasefire for a VERY long time so Ukraine cannot join the EU 😀).

This is a sharp statement that cannot be misunderstood.

Sometimes rules must be followed, sometimes there are other crises and then you do what is really needed – slapping the rulebook into Zelensky’s head right now is downright shameful.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the EU accepts that a ceasefire is considered peace and then Ukraine is allowed to join, they almost follow the rules.

        2. Merz has gone from “Ukraine shall get all its land back” to “in a peace deal maybe they have to cede land, who knows”.

This is how it sounded in August 2025.

(what has happened since then? Well, the Iran war has severely worsened their LNG purchases…)

        https://newsukraine.rbc.ua/news/-1755576812.html

        3. Proposal from Merz in all goodwill – tell the citizens that we traded land for EU membership.

        4. Own point, Germany is negotiating secretly with Russia which has now been revealed.

I don’t think I am in any way dramatizing what the German bastards are up to?

Clear as a church spade that they now understand that shutting down all nuclear power plants is starting to hit their industry and that the German bastards are beginning to panic.

They are even more panicked because their gas storage is 25% below normal for this time of year and Trump is unpredictable, besides Trump’s LNG and what they buy secretly from Putin they don’t have many alternatives.

Trump has already threatened to stop LNG to Europe.

So Merz et al. are now doing the next best thing after they saved the world from the climate crisis – they are trying to get Ukraine to agree to a ceasefire so they can start buying Russian gas again.

You don’t even need to read between the lines to put this together 😀

Yes, there is an upside too – we saved the world.

    1. As it says in the comment section, Trump hated Spain until they won the World Cup, then he wanted to bask in their glory.
When Ukraine gains a significant advantage, he will approach Ukraine and give them what they want.
      He is so damn disgusting!

    Video Ben Hodges

Something happened this summer that will define the outcome of this war. And most people watching the headlines completely missed the strategic depth of what Ukraine actually pulled off. Starting in March 2026, Ukrainian long-range drones began systematically working through every major oil refinery in Russia — plant by plant, region by region — until on July 6th, they reached the Omsk refinery deep in Siberia, over 1,500 miles from Ukrainian territory. Russia’s largest refinery. The last of Russia’s eleven biggest gasoline producers that had not yet been struck. And Ukraine burned it. In this video, retired US Army General Ben Hodges breaks down the full strategic picture — the refinery campaign, the fuel crisis now hitting 50 million Russian civilians, the diesel export ban Putin was forced to announce on national television, the Wildberries warehouse strikes bringing the war into Russia’s consumer economy, the dramatic military leadership shakeup inside Ukraine’s armed forces, and what all of it means for how this war ends.

    1. If you extrapolate, 100% would be burning wrecks in two weeks?

You might have about 15 larger cities in a string around Ukraine the size of Belgorod?

So in about half a year, Ukraine could roughly take out all the gas stations in that belt.

  11. We laughed at the Russians when we saw tanks equipped this way, but Ukraine is doing the same thing.

** Two survivability philosophies from Ukraine’s 81st Airmobile Brigade: a Bergepanzer 2 ARV buried in vegetation to beat detection, an M109 155mm getting a welded steel cage to beat the hit. Concealment vs hardening, tuned to the modern warfare threats in Ukraine, basically. **

  12. Don’t know if you go back in the thread and read, so posting here MXT

You yourself paste the quotes 😀

I’ll break it down for you –

    1. Ukraine is not allowed to join the EU as long as there is war, says Merz (a real trickster because a ceasefire is still war and guess if RU will drag out a peace agreement after the ceasefire for a VERY long time so Ukraine can’t join the EU).

This is a sharp statement that cannot be misunderstood.

Sometimes the rules must be followed, sometimes there are other crises and then you do what is really needed – slapping the rulebook into Zelensky’s head right now is downright shameful.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the EU accepts that a ceasefire is considered peace and then Ukraine gets to join, they almost follow the rules after the gas flows again.

    2. Merz has gone from “Ukraine shall get all its land back” to “in a peace deal maybe they have to cede land, who knows”.

This is how it sounded in August 2025.

(what has happened since then? Well, the Iran war has severely worsened their LNG purchases…)

    3. Proposal from Merz in all goodwill – tell the citizens that we traded land for EU membership.

    4. Johan’s own point; Germany is negotiating secretly with Russia which has now been revealed, apparently those were not “former employees” but “officials” in present tense I think it is starting to be written now?

I don’t think I am in any way dramatizing what the German bastards are up to?

Clear as a church spade that they now understand that shutting down all nuclear power plants is starting to hit their industry and that the German bastards are beginning to panic.

They are even more panicked because their gas storage is 25% below normal for this time of year and Trump is unpredictable, besides Trump’s LNG and what they secretly buy from Putin they don’t have many alternatives.

Trump has already threatened to stop LNG to Europe.

So Merz et.al. are now doing the next best thing after they saved the world from the climate crisis – they are trying to get Ukraine to agree to a ceasefire so they can start buying Russian gas again.

You don’t even need to read between the lines to put this together 😀

Yes, there is an upside too – we saved the world. Actually, Ukraine should be more grateful that we saved the climate than they are.

    1. The EU still has “full territorial integrity” in its statement.

It is really only Merz who has started to waver in his proposals after having changed his position, which coincides with his government’s secret overtures to Russia.

For me, the words matter a lot; we do not know exactly what is said behind closed doors, but when one starts to waver in their position, there are quite a few discussions behind it.
