Russia attacked Odesa in Ukraine during the night, hitting both residences, a hotel, warehouses, infrastructure, and several cars also caught fire. In the attacks, 13 people were injured, including two children. Read more here.
Today’s report on Russian losses in Ukraine
Today’s loss report is clearly lower than the recent average on all points. There is often a day in the week with slightly lower Russian losses, and this often applies to reports around the weekends (Saturday, Sunday, or Monday), so it is probably only temporary.
- 810 KWIA
- 4 AFVs
- 26 Artillery systems
- 1 128 UAVs
- 128 Vehicles and Fuel tanks

Russian activities
The Russian attacks still show a fairly high number of combat clashes and also KAB, even though the other figures are relatively low.
- 241 combat clashes
- 86 air strikes
- 257 KAB/CAB
- 6 847 kamikaze drones
- 2 673 shells (138 from MLRS)

The amount of disinformation from the USA is enormous.
We got used to UA’s honesty and this is difficult for me to navigate.
fedtmule,
The USA was in decline there, with China actively undermining them.
EUR is an alternative.
The BRIICS alternative or China is too uncertain.
The USA is probably trying to make EUR less attractive, and we have NOT yet seen that play out.
The USA is trying to defend the petrodollar with weapons.
An attack in the Baltics could probably contribute to financial fear for EUR – that is the hypothesis I have been promoting for a long time.
Is EUR too strong now?
In 2008, we were not, and it would be reasonable for the USA to test again.
If they fail to break EUR in the coming crisis and Iran goes to hell, the USA’s heyday is probably up for discussion.
But right now they can —
stop the fuel tap to us
Cause Russian aggression in the Baltics
Coordinate their finances in an attack against us.
In other ways, complicate sea transport to us by provoking China and MENA.
—
Europe seems to have just given China the cold shoulder for some trade agreement, so we did not exactly run to China, which is good.

That someone in the opposition, who I don’t know, has started to move in Russia is clear, but do you believe the rumors that Putin is gone?
Probably a bit early, but one can always hope; this year he should go down.
If you remember the disputes about “the world’s best infantry,” Stubb has now said it but in terms of UA having gained that work experience.
To some extent, that’s true, but not all countries have the seeds that were there from the beginning to try to sow.
Recently, when information about starvation came out from a frontline unit, the brigade commander and corps commander were fired, and the political leadership is now on the world stage to create alliances.
They manufacture themselves what they need.
Ukraine, from the individual soldier up to Zelensky, is something we don’t get to see very often, and they have stood up against RU, China, and the USA after so many bad news that most have already thrown in the towel.
We are not humble enough at all.
Agree, we are not humble enough and we are also not doing enough to help.
Now, as I said, I don’t believe anything will happen in the Baltics as long as the war in Ukraine continues, but that does not mean we shouldn’t strengthen the military presence there.
Not even that seems we can manage.
I can partly agree with the US criticism of Europe.
We behave like the slow-moving colossus on clay feet that the Soviet Union was jokingly called before, with their rigid five-year plans.
Next year the war will have been going on for five years, if we are not to be worse than the old Soviets, we must wake up before then and of course also have gained the courage to do something more active and not let Ukraine take the whole blow alone.
Possibly the agreement the USA made with Saudi, parts have probably been discussed earlier.
A good deal for the USA provided that Iran’s regime falls.

Sounds like an alliance as a military version of the Abraham Accords. And with a pipeline to Israel, a becoming of a trade union (oil instead of coal and steel). Could be a wise path to take to create peace in the Middle East. Has demonstrably worked in Europe. Maybe Trump, despite not pursuing it himself, is not as demented as MXT and other NAFO members would like to believe in order to avoid thinking for themselves. Kamala is apparently going to run again, which is an excellent sign that people prefer not to think for themselves.
So far, the USA has done what is good for them and the Trump family is filthy rich 😀
Yes, but the Saudi families even richer. Equalization and a bit of socialism in the middle of all capitalism..
Hello Mr. 205.
I believe Kamala’s plans to run again will fizzle out, and even if she manages to roll a few meters on soggy tires, her campaign will not result in her being nominated as the presidential candidate.
Woke as a phenomenon in American politics has seen its heyday, just as the Maga movement is losing ground.
My prediction is that the winning concept for the next presidential election will increasingly be to focus on the growing group of independent voters, as they tend to be the “swing vote.” My impression is that more and more people in the USA are starting to get tired of the polarization and are seeing more clearly the connection and “symbiosis” between the extremes in American politics.
Mr. 205, do you also have ties to the USA through work or residence, like Maggan?
If they have nothing better than Harris, they can forfeit.
Pete Buttigieg is someone who can speak so that ordinary people understand, but he will never get the chance.
Harris is unlikely to become president. Mark Kelly has a good chance if he chooses to run.
Unfortunately, most states have the idiotic primary election system. Alaska and California commendably have two rounds of voting.
Gretchen Witmer from Michigan seems sensible. Kamala Harris doesn’t work.
Rahm Emanuel maybe?
Exactly, and that was my point with Harris. The problem with Trump, if we are to define him as a problem, is not so much that he wins on politics far out on the right wing, but that the opponents fail to establish a credible alternative, a mix of extremes on the left side (as a reaction to Trump) as well as a weak offering otherwise. Speculation and I do not live in the USA but stayed there for a year, a few shorter return visits and have maintained contact with alumni. In addition, before my stay in the USA, I had a job after school with an American from SAN Diego, whose parents played doubles with Reagan. The father was a B-list actor colleague with Ronald. We watched together on TV the motorcade with Reagan after the victory against the peanut magnate. That’s how my perception of American politics was shaped. The stay in the USA was during Reagan’s presidency.
Now I don’t have any greater confidence in Grok, but someone in the thread you link to asks:
“Is this true @grok ?”
The answer:
“Credible reporting (NYT, WaPo, March 2026) shows MBS urged Trump to continue pressure on Iran for regime change as a “historic opportunity.” But the specific list—$100B war funding, Ashdod oil pipeline, $1T investments, “Middle East NATO,” joint naval force, etc.—originated in unverified mid-April social media claims with no White House, Saudi, or mainstream backing. It’s rumor, not fact.”

President Donald Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have signed a series of economic agreements valued at more than $600 billion, including investments in defense, energy, technology, global infrastructure, and natural resources. According to the White House announcement, the deals included a $142 billion defense sales agreement to provide Saudi Arabia with “state-of-the-art warfighting equipment and services,”

https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/11/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-solidifies-economic-and-defense-partnership-with-the-kingdom-of-saudi-arabia/
In a major expansion of this partnership, the Crown Prince announced today that Saudi Arabia will be increasing their investment commitments in the United States to almost $1 trillion, reflecting deepening trust and momentum for the United States under President Trump’s leadership.
I say nothing about economic agreements being made, but that it would happen as part of an agreement where the USA undertakes to overthrow Iran’s regime is probably what cannot be proven.

Sharp increase in Donetsk, and the total is peaking, but not topping, so still a waning but persistent Russian offensive.
The Ukrainian counteroffensive, which can be seen in the unlocalized attacks, rose sharply compared to yesterday but is also higher than the average of the recent period. With a low estimated KWiA/unlocalized attack of 10, it should account for 770 of the day’s 810 KWiA, which even with a low KWiA per localized attack of 2 (which was the ratio in Pokrovsk according to the 22 report) does not add up. If we start from localized, with 2*165=330 KWiA, we have from the unlocalized attacks 810-330=480 KWiA from the unlocalized and then a ratio of 480/77=6.234 KWiA /unlocalized attack. Outside and lower than the previously observed range of 10-20. To consider: 5-25?

Orbán
This has already been reported, but now Omni has caught up.
“Several people in former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s inner circle appear to be fleeing Hungary. This is due to the formal change of power expected in May.
According to The Guardian, which refers to sources within Orbán’s own party Fidesz, at least three people have already moved billions of forints out of the country. The incoming Prime Minister Péter Magyar warned over the weekend that several ‘oligarchs’ have also taken their children out of school and appear to be preparing to move to countries from which they cannot be forced to return.
Magyar therefore urges local authorities – police, prosecutors, and tax authorities – to stop the flight before it becomes difficult for the country to act. However, the development is expected, judging by Péter Magyar’s own statements.
– The situation in our country is acute and Hungary has problems in every way. Hungary has been plundered, betrayed, put into debt, and ruined, he said already the day after the election.”

Moldova has backbone:
https://youtu.be/4s8o9JzVijo?si=QmJkI7DiTFhnWiAZ
Summarized by Gemini:
Moldova’s strategic moves
Isolation of Russian leadership: Moldova has declared the leadership of the Russian forces in Transnistria, including commander Dmitri Zelenov, as persona non grata. This means they are trapped in the region; if they try to leave via Moldova, they risk expulsion or imprisonment, and the route through Ukraine is closed due to the war [00:23].
Logistical trap: By stopping personnel rotation and limiting mobility, the Russian military capability weakens over time. Without new officers and supplies, morale and operational effectiveness decline [02:12].
Reintegration plan
A peaceful solution: Moldova has presented a comprehensive plan to the EU aiming for full reunification by 2038 [01:11].
Demilitarization: The plan requires Russian forces to withdraw and be replaced by an international civilian mission [01:28].
Economic union: The strategy involves linking Transnistria’s economy to Moldova and the EU through joint customs and tax systems [01:47].
Conclusion
The video argues that Moldova has transformed Transnistria from a Russian outpost into a “strategic death trap.” By applying controlled pressure, the government in Chisinau hopes to force a Russian withdrawal and resolve the frozen conflict in a way that benefits Moldova’s independence and alignment with the West [04:21].
Sounds really good!
It should actually be quite simple to “starve them out”.
If only Moldova and Ukraine agree to stop all imports and exports, they shouldn’t be able to hold out for that long.
Hope the EU does its part and dares to help, even with boots on the ground when it comes to demilitarization!
Who dares now thanks to Ukraine.
Zelensky and Budanov are doing a lot of diplomacy
Hmm, hasn’t this already been reported earlier?
Anyway, it’s good in any case.

China impresses. It behaves calmly and orderly in contrast to the USA/Russia. Has the idea of invading Taiwan been abandoned? Does it have a hidden agenda? China naturally knows that the seams in the Russian empire are cracking. It surely knows more than anyone else. If Russia collapses, it can easily take back Manchuria without war, which the Russians took from the Chinese when China was on the verge of dissolving as a nation after the Opium Wars. No European or American would consider this unfair.
What is happening in Moldova is positive. When the Great Northern War ended, Sweden was in a bad position if Peter the Great had intended to continue across the Baltic Sea. Almost all men of working age were gone and the farms were falling into ruin. With some help from England, which did not want Russia to rule the Baltic Sea as well, the Russians moved towards Crimea and Bessarabia (Moldova) instead. Sweden’s luck and Moldova’s misfortune, in other words. That is why it feels especially good as a Swede to hear positive news from Moldova.
Yes indeed, China has a plan B up north, we can be sure of that 😀
Off-Topic, AI
“23-year-old Liam Price has no education in advanced mathematics, but with the help of Chat GPT, he has solved a mathematical problem that has baffled researchers for 60 years. This is reported by Scientific American.
The case is special in several ways. GPT-5.4 Pro found a method that no one had previously tried for this type of problem, and it was based on a single prompt – instruction – from Price.
Recently, several cases where AI is claimed to have solved so-called Erdős problems have received attention. This problem also belongs to that category, but unlike previous examples, the solution is described as more original and significant. According to researchers, it is expected to have broader applications within the mathematical field, which is seen as relatively unique.”

AI is a tool where a person gets help and then checks.
That’s how engineers have done with the programs we’ve used for years – manual verification.
Right now, everyone is being fired and then AI is allowed to replace them – guaranteed reemployment after a few years.
Already, researchers and others have tested AI and they are wildly off.
More than legally stupid this.
I believe it will be difficult to avoid using AI in the near future within many professions.
In just one year, I have personally noticed that it has become incredibly much better and more efficient (besides the tools for using it have also improved). This specifically applies to programming, which has fairly fixed rules but at the same time is very complex. My guess is that virtually all programming will be AI-assisted in a few years.
It will be more about being able to write the best prompts than coding yourself.
Of course, you can easily miss bugs and security holes if you don’t review the code, so it also applies there that you understand what you’re doing. At the same time, it is quite clear when AI completely fails because it shows if it doesn’t work.
The problem is that everyone seems to think AI can solve all problems already today, just because everything sounds so credible even though it can be completely wrong.
If you use it for programming, you quickly understand that those shortcomings exist, but as I said, it has progressed very quickly.
I ran a conversion of a very old project where I changed the codebase from one programming language to another. I would never have bothered to take that on without AI assistance. Manually going through and rewriting several hundred code files would have taken enormous time (besides being incredibly boring). Now it took one day for a first conversion and then another day and a half to fix the places where it wasn’t correct. I ran it as a test and honestly didn’t think it would go as smoothly as it did.
Was at a lecture about AI where a report on the latest version of Claude (from early April) had found a common thread of security vulnerabilities across a total of six systems. Each of these looked secure on its own, but in combination there was a risk. No one had discovered this in 25 years.
Yes, that has (rightly) worried quite a few. Just like any tool, AI can be used to cause trouble and unfortunately it is starting to get so good that it can become an uneven race.
Hizbollah’s leader gave a speech today, summarized by Christer Sfeir on X:
“Now he has finished talking. The main points:
– Completely rejects direct negotiations with Israel.
– States firmly that Hizbollah will not be disarmed.
– Presents the conflict as defense against Israeli aggression, not as its cause.
– Claims that Israel has failed militarily despite extensive efforts.
– Criticizes the Lebanese state for concessions and submission.
– Demands five conditions before a solution: stop attacks, Israeli withdrawal, prisoner exchange, return for civilians, reconstruction.
– Emphasizes that the resistance continues regardless of threats and that victory is possible.
– Rejects all agreements made without their approval as irrelevant.”
The odds of the war resuming in Lebanon should be seen as low. Hizbollah is controlled by Iran, so if the war in Iran resumes, it probably mostly depends on what the USA wants. Iran will not agree to a negotiated solution that can be accepted by Israel.
Yes, that was “chatter”. I think like you, it is Iran that decides.
Well, Hezbollah is there just to mess with Israel, and is deployed by Iran, so as long as Iran is ruled by the Mullahs and not all of Hezbollah is dead, they will lob rockets into Israel. They will continue to provoke Israel and hide among civilians to cause as much collateral damage as possible.
There is a risk that Iran will try to provoke the US into launching such a strong attack that the world turns against them, and also to get American ground troops involved so that Americans come home in coffins.
I hope that the Iranian regime at least somewhat cares about its civilian population and its economy so that they can reach an agreement with the US, but I have low hopes. Dictatorships in general and Islamist dictatorships in particular place no value on their population other than using them as human shields to protect the elite.

“The Ukrainian drone unit ”Magyars birds” has killed 120,000 Russian soldiers in the past four months. This is claimed by the unit’s commander Robert Brovdi in an interview with the BBC. The figures cannot be verified by the channel and it is unclear how large the Russian losses actually are. Brovdi claims on his part that his soldiers must ”prove” each death with a video for it to be counted.
– The greatest mass killing of an enemy in human history is happening in this room, says Brovdi from a secret command center.
Brovdi’s goal is to kill more Russian soldiers than can be recruited, which means 30,000 men per month.
Warfare with drones has become increasingly important for Ukraine and long-range weapons are frequently used to reach targets far inside Russian territory. ”Magyars birds” make up one percent of the Ukrainian defense but account for a third of the Russian losses, according to Brovdi.”

Off-Topic, China blocks acquisition without justification.
“The Chinese government has decided to block Facebook owner Meta’s purchase of the Chinese AI startup Manus for 2 billion dollars, several media outlets report.
According to Bloomberg, the government decision was announced in a brief statement, where China’s National Development and Reform Commission only stated that the decision was made in accordance with laws and regulations. No further justification was given.
However, the acquisition plans have previously caused irritation in China, and a month ago the Financial Times reported that the founders of Manus were subjected to exit bans.
Neither representatives of Meta nor Manus have yet commented on the matter.”

USA: Roughly a third of the donors to the Ballroom appear in the Epstein files.
Sounds insanely crazy?
Maybe he has promised a pardon to everyone who donates if they happen to be convicted of a crime? 🤔
Did not find anything directly about Epstein with a quick Google search, but there seem to be several who have donated and who appear to want something in return from Trump.

Damn, it might be as mxt speculates.
Or it could simply be that a large part of the ultra-rich have had some contact with Epstein at some point.

I wasn’t there 😳
“💥 Soldiers of Black Sky BBS of Spartan brigade destroyed the Russians with Hornet drones in the area of Pisky, on the outskirts of Donetsk”
Someone got banned on Cornucopia. Does anyone know which nickname was suspended?
He should come here to us in the warmth
😂
No thanks, that person is not welcome here.
Oh well, so I don’t know which wild one it was.
Withdrawing the invitation
Had to check. Haven’t had time to hang out there more than a short post this morning, so haven’t seen what was removed.
But that block seemed correct anyway if the person printed someone else’s personal information (and it’s true that they have also spread pro-Russian views).
Here you can be for and against most things, but you absolutely cannot be pro-Russian and for Russia! 😄
Have read every daily post about Ukraine since March 22, 2022, if not every comment, and saw the post this morning and expected a kickban. Never seen that user before, and they “asked” (rather fished for people to start wondering) quite blatantly about a preliminary investigation report on JvM. If you have read the Flashback threads about LW, you can see that this is a very recurring hobbyhorse.
Thank you.
Cornu did say that the person in question had been to Russia. There is a user who writes quite a lot about Russia, has been there a lot, and has contacts there. I was a bit afraid it was him, even though he never seemed the least bit pro-Russian. But it was not. That was just what I wanted to be sure of.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is visiting Saint Petersburg in Russia on Monday for a meeting with Vladimir Putin, reports AFP.
– For our part, we will do everything that promotes your interests and the interests of the entire region so that peace can be achieved as soon as possible, Putin tells Araghchi according to state Russian media.
Russia’s intention is to continue the “strategic partnership” with Iran, he adds.
Araghchi has been traveling for several days during the ongoing pause in the peace talks. Before Russia, he visited Oman and made two trips to Pakistan, writes BBC.
The current Iranian proposal on the table is to loosen the grip on the Strait of Hormuz if the US lifts its blockade on Iranian ports and ends the war, according to AP. Discussions about the country’s nuclear program are proposed to be held at a later time.

saw your response about AI MXT,
you are knowledgeable and use it as a tool, you are a specialist in your field and have now gotten a great tool.
The problem I meant is when I think – “now I do MXT work with AI and everything AI does is correct.” Then I assign Dengamle to approve all output.
That’s where the chaos comes in.
and surprisingly many seem to think that’s how it should be done?
Tool yes.
Replacing humans completely and blind trust in output – this will be interesting.
Absolutely, there is a great risk that it will end in chaos. Then you end up with a mess that takes longer to sort out than if you had let the right person do it from the start. Or that it works somewhat, but then turns out to be completely hopeless to maintain.
Many will go there for that.
You can make it if you don’t let you-know-who in
I am very good at chaos, just say the word and I’ll help out 👍
Perfect! 👍
A bit stressed because I’m traveling tomorrow but you do stand behind the expression “kaoz” after a real wild trip in 1534, right?
Such a funny story that I’m lying on the floor laughing
“Ukraine always expresses its gratitude and always remembers clearly who supported us and how after this war began. But it is equally important, especially for Europe, that all partners remember that Ukraine is defending not only itself in this war. Russia wants our territory so that it can capture the territories of others. If it succeeds with one country – one neighbor – it will do the same with others.”

“❗️In 2025, Ukraine spent a record 40% of its GDP on defense — the highest share in the world — according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). Kyiv’s total military expenditures amounted to $84.1 billion.
Global military spending reached a record $2.88 trillion. The leaders were: the United States — $954 billion, China — $336 billion, and Russia — $190 billion.”

Interesting that RU spends more than twice as much on the war as Ukraine. And now Ukraine is starting to get exports and collaborations which will ease production and development costs.
Hard to know if he is dissatisfied with the war as such or if he is actually mostly worried about Germany’s economy.
“Germany’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz directs unusually harsh criticism at the Trump administration’s actions in the Iran war, reports Politico.
In a speech to a group of high school students in his home region, Merz says that the Iranians were stronger than the US expected, and that the Americans “quite obviously” lacked a strategy when they entered a war that now risks becoming as prolonged as Iraq and Afghanistan.
– An entire nation is humiliated by the Iranian leadership, he says.
Merz was initially cautiously positive about the attacks on Iran and said that Germany shared the goal of regime change. His frustration has since grown in step with rising energy prices hitting the already strained German economy.”

It is a balancing act that politicians in Europe must walk. Sure, they can be tough and go all in the morally correct direction, but then, for example, the AFD is lying in wait and growing due to dissatisfaction when industry moves abroad.
It would have been interesting if, instead of imposing sanctions, we had imposed a 100% tariff on Russian products, and the money was used to finance Ukraine’s defense. But then we would also have had to impose tariffs on goods from countries that trade more with RU without massively supporting Ukraine.
You have aired the customs before and as it turned out, it would have been the better choice absolutely 100% 👍
Are you running in the election?
Well, the thoughts are old but I didn’t remember if I had aired them here, or if anyone remembered that I had done so. Isn’t there an economist who can calculate what the outcome would have been?
I did a voting compass and the party I sympathized with the most got a 74% match with me. Maybe that’s why it feels like I usually vote for the least bad party? It could also be an indication that I should start a party. Like a Swedish Trump. Like Trump because I impose tariffs on everyone who doesn’t behave, and Swedish because I give away the money. However, there isn’t enough time 🙁

🇫🇮🇺🇦 Ukraine is more important to Europe than Europe is to Ukraine. The situation has changed, says the President of Finland.
Alexander Stubb emphasized that Ukraine, unlike Europe, knows how to conduct warfare in modern times, and added that the Ukrainian armed forces are the most reliable security guarantee on the continent.
Stubb also stated that Ukraine neutralizes between 30,000 and 35,000 Russians per month, killed and wounded. According to the President of Finland, this monthly level has been maintained for four months, largely thanks to the use of drones.

Saw a few weeks ago that Stubb had said that in March Ukraine sent more rockets and drones into RU than RU sent into Ukraine (long-range, excluding the frontlines I assume?) Anyone who has better knowledge and can confirm?
I’m not sure, but it actually wouldn’t surprise me.
after three assassination attempts in two years against a democratically elected leader, attention is also turning to political violence from the left wing

What DN describes as “normal” (yet another column that normalizes violence against Trump in DN);
“[N]obody on the Right justified, rationalized, or celebrated the white supremacist in Buffalo. But many people on the Left, including in prestige media, have justified, rationalized, and celebrated left-wing violence, from BLM to the present.”
— christopherrufo@x
And this blog is on a slippery slope, just like Cornucopia, mocking a democratically elected president, aware of an assassination attempt on a president less than 6 hours earlier.
A slippery slope that nullifies all other ambitions, including the purpose of supporting Ukraine. A double shot in the foot. Or a shot in each foot.
Do not agree at all that the blog is on a downward slope.
On the contrary, I think it maintains a good level in both posts and comments and allows dissenting opinions.
The US elected president has, by the way, set a completely new standard when it comes to mocking dissenters, including expressing joy over the death of a former federal official.
That DN, like the rest of MSN, has a left-leaning, almost activist journalism is hardly the blog’s fault.
By slippery slope, I do not mean that it is bad that there are uneven/different opinions, which this blog does well compared to other blogs. What I am focusing on is boundless mockery. One thing is criticism and accusations with or even without basis. But when one moves on to mocking someone who has just been subjected to an attack, one is not far from actually calling for/encouraging a murder of the president the Americans have chosen. This happened on both blogs. And I was not surprised in either case.
Another column from DN.
Three attempted murders in two years – attention turns to the left
“Those who see a ten-second clip on Instagram, where the president says something terrible, miss the remaining 90 minutes of a press conference, where Trump can joke and show a more humble side.
More than any other president, he has also taken the time to talk to the media.”
As I wrote the other day, Trump holds many times more meetings with journalists than during his first term, and more than many previous presidents (combined?). Then it is clear that you can take something out of context and use it as evidence of Trump’s misery or, like MXT, diagnose dementia. Of course, it is possible to find flaws in a president’s PR if you want to, especially when it is a president who holds longer press conferences than many previous presidents. Who answers far more questions than can be expected from a head of state in any democracy. Especially from an alleged king-wannabe, whom MXT has also been careful to label Trump as.
”Trump had at least 493 meetings with journalists during his first year of his second term – consisting of 153 interviews, 327 short Q&A sessions, and 13 formal press conferences. This was a dramatic increase from his first term and far exceeds the press interactions from Biden, Obama, and Bush.” — National Today
“On would-be Trump killer Cole Allen: “It’s no mistake this man hailed from California and that of Gavin Newsom, who is one of the WORST offenders of this violent political rhetoric that sparks this man’s imagination!”
— Katie Miller, podcast host
And while LW mocks Trump the same morning as the attack on Trump by suggesting that he probably did not perceive the situation, MXT does not “dismiss” the same morning that Trump “is demented.” The perspectives are monstrously twisted, completely taken out of thin air, and aim only to dehumanize the democratically elected American leader, the same method the Nazis used to create hatred against the Jews.
Godwin’s law?
Unlike parts of the left, I do not call anyone a Nazi or fascist. And the method of dehumanizing/denormalizing someone is commonly used in propaganda.
Well, but who are you telling that to? I have not called Trump a Nazi or fascist either. Admittedly, I am not left-wing either.
Because there are parts of the right that insinuate that those who are against Trump are mentally ill, like “libtards” or suffer from “TDS”. It is part of the same language use to dehumanize those who disagree.
As others have written here. Trump is complicit in the tone of conversation, he has set his bar very low and as the country’s former and current president he has a great influence (it would be strange otherwise). That does not mean that others should also sink to that level, but it is not the least bit strange.
https://www.pbs.org/video/vote-2024-1710800068/
There are many many more examples, just a simple Google search away on “dehumanising Trump quotes“.
No, it is anything but flattering. But two wrongs don’t make a right. And if you want to engage in mockery and mudslinging, maybe you should focus on that. It is a full-time job. And it takes focus away from other things.
Newton Leroy Gingrich is the founder of the mudslinging politics that allowed the Republicans, after several decades of Democratic dominance, to take control of Congress. In Trump, Gingrich saw his equal during the first term, and Gingrich was mentioned as a vice presidential candidate for Trump.
Faint memories of Newt Gingrich, mostly as some comical sharp figure in satire/comedy, probably because of what you wrote about his tactics.
Blanche: “Many people in this room have done it as well. They’re just as guilty as a lot of people on X. When you have reporters, when you have media just being overly critical and calling the president horrible names for no reason, it shouldn’t surprise us that this type of rhetoric takes place.”

China’s economy seems to be starting to shake, which is probably the main goal for the USA, one might guess?
Somewhat like chemotherapy. Toxic to everyone, but those who divide the fastest are affected the most.
The entire world economy suffers, but if you have built your economy on exports, you suffer the most.
Their economy is probably still growing but it is slowing down a bit.
https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/moodys-flags-resilience-china-economy-moves-outlook-stable-2026-04-27/
Real estate has probably been struggling for a long time and you obviously can’t trust China’s own GDP figures, but I don’t think the crisis they have been in for a while has gotten much worse (unfortunately).
Some economist compared his previous term and the associated tariff exemption with China to “a drinking competition” that harmed the economies of both countries, but mostly China.
Today’s advertisement – 15 worst breakfasts.
Snus and coffee weren’t even included, and they have built the Nordic miracle.
Trump’s behavior when Zelensky was invited to the White House has colored my impression of Trump. My attitude towards him and the rest of MAGA I had before this happened, but it was cemented that time. They are and remain bullies in my eyes. There sat a lonely man and president, moreover a hero without a suit, and was bullied by 7? suits without men. Horrible. Like children can be when they bully a schoolmate who looks a little different. But those are children. Here it is a matter of “adults”.
Yep.
That topped a long betrayal against Ukraine.
I thought the NATO meeting in 2023 or September in the USA 2024 would be the low point…
Then Trump tried throughout 2025 to stir up political opposition against Zelensky in Ukraine.
Trump and JD Vance are, just like the bank, not our friends.
Trump is for sale, why Europe didn’t buy him they probably regret 🤣🤣
Solovyev is negative towards the war – definitely opposition in motion.

Speaking of Johan’s 15 worst breakfasts. Have you heard of bench porridge?
No? An old sailor’s breakfast that you never see TV chefs prepare. It’s not found in cookbooks either. The sailors ate at long tables. Along the edge, there was a trough where they scraped out the leftovers from their plates. Along the ridges of the table hung pots. (Buckets). The cook scraped the leftovers into the pots, and then the leftovers stayed there until Sunday. The cook then boiled a porridge from this, which was served with ship’s rusks. The warmth caused it to ferment and changed the taste a little bit. I have the recipe if anyone is interested 😒
Ship’s rusks: Must first be tapped a couple of times on the table. Then half a platoon of various animals (flour beetles, for example) marched out. If you didn’t do this, the rusks were perceived as a bit “heavier”.
Are you sure you’re not a famous Swedish chef? 😳

I only read the headline first and saw the Greens’ basic income promise. Then I saw that it applied to the unemployed if they were employed.
What is the definition of a populist party? I sometimes wonder about that, I have heard of right-wing populist, never left-wing populist.
Centrist populist?
Found a definition of a political scientist:
“It seems accepted that populists are those who are only out to win votes, who are ‘for everything good and against everything bad,’ who ‘promise everything to everyone and have no basis for it.’ Populists give simple answers to complex questions; their politics are poorly founded or irrational; they are characterized by resistance to facts and listen to pseudoscience; they ‘celebrate victories at the expense of reason’; they do not take ‘any form of responsibility.’
In other words, all parties during an election year. 😳
That’s exactly right!
I only read the headline first and saw MP’s basic income to the right. Then I saw that it was about whether they were employed.
