Ukraine has attacked Belgorod and Rostov – Russia has sunk a civilian cargo ship – Russian losses

Ukrainian drones attacked several locations in Russia during the night. Explosions were reported from Belgorod, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog. According to unconfirmed Russian reports, residential buildings and civilians were affected, but if true, it is assumed to be due to Russian air defense or debris.

In Belgorod, it was claimed that 12 people were injured when a residential building and 15 parked cars were set on fire, and additionally, one house was partially destroyed and several apartment buildings were damaged.

In the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, explosions were heard later during the night. Rostov-on-Don’s mayor, Alexander Skryabin, confirmed Ukrainian attacks and said that a residential building was damaged as a result of a Ukrainian attack, and the governor of Rostov region, Yuriy Slyusar, reported that two people were killed and five others injured in the city, adding that warehouse buildings and several homes were set on fire due to the attacks.

Explosions were also reported in the coastal city of Taganrog, located along Russia’s Azov Sea coast, according to the news channel Telegram Supernova Plus.

Ukraine’s General Staff reports that they attacked a facility belonging to Chornomornaftogaz as well as relay equipment used to control Russian attack drones on the Russian-occupied Crimea, and a bridge in the occupied Donetsk oblast, reported Ukraine’s General Staff.

In Saint Petersburg, for the second year in a row, the Navy Day parade had to be canceled yesterday. It is an event taken seriously in Russia; it is even a public holiday. Normally, it is a large event showcasing the Russian navy in all its glory. The main parade is held in Saint Petersburg, but celebrations also take place in many other locations where the navy is based. Putin still gave a speech to the sailors at the navy headquarters in Saint Petersburg, and the spectacle was to be broadcast so the entire Russian population could partake in the speech. However, it turned out that Saint Petersburg was conveniently hit by extensive internet disruptions on that day, so it didn’t go so well. The speech was too important to send any copy this time.

According to reports received by the blog, Putin completely lost it when he heard about the disruptions after the speech. He had spent several hours writing and rehearsing the speech, so the disappointment and humiliation were great. Half an hour later he fell asleep, and everyone could now breathe a sigh of relief. They freshened him up as best they could by wiping away all the snot and tears, but nothing could be done about his tear-swollen, red-flushed face. It almost seemed as if all the Botox he had injected over the years had absorbed all the fluid. He mostly resembled an orange basketball. “He looks like Trump,” someone said, but quickly fell silent after all the angry looks (although a few restrained smiles twitched at the corners of some mouths), no one knew if this was being recorded and could be used against them later.

There was not much more to do after the usual double diaper change; they put him on the train home to the bunker again, but before that, they gave him another sedative injection to ensure he would not wake up during the trip.

The top leadership at the Saint Petersburg naval headquarters who had been following what happened could finally relax, and to calm their nerves, the vodka came out, and as they toasted, they all agreed that they hoped it would be at least a year before Putin made another visit.           We are adapted to a certain temperature range. If we were adapted to life in the cold, we would have fur like polar bears, or a layer of blubber. The reason we can live through the Nordic winter is that we have invented clothes and can heat our houses.

          We are also not adapted to extreme heat and humidity, but we tolerate heat better than cold, as long as the temperature and humidity allow us to cool ourselves by sweating.

          It is drought, fires, floods, hurricanes, etc., that will cause problems when the temperature rises, at least between the tropics.

          Here there is a risk that the Gulf Stream will weaken, which would bring Siberian cold, and that would not be great, as Germany would get crowded if at the same time the Mediterranean region becomes a desert.

    It never ceases to surprise, but now Simona Mohamsson is the number two hate target, and she is a woman with an immigrant background from Palestine and the party leader for the Liberals 😀

    The tone is also starting to become more than reasonably high now with many attempts at polarization where the bar is constantly being moved; now apparently all immigrants should be expelled if you read any newspaper. I try to read up on who is driving this and can’t find it.

    Then lots of discussions about “Swedishness,” whether integration is actually discrimination, and lots of scare propaganda.

      That there are longer and possibly more heatwaves with higher temperatures causing the ground to dry out earlier and thus become more flammable is probably not in doubt at all.
      But it is not the climate that sets the fire, it is fools who should be locked up or keelhauled at the nearest cooling water intake of a nuclear power plant.

        – It is autonomous, it is self-sustaining, it goes a bit in all directions. We are confronted in Gironde with a phenomenon that has no precedent, said Nuñez.

        220,000 people have been forced to leave their homes in Gironde. So far, no decision has been made to evacuate Bordeaux.

    Yes, there are very many arrested in France who have been open about it, certainly some in Spain, Germany, and the UK as well who are coming forward.

    The spicy part is that if you go out into the forest, light a fire, and then run away from there, it’s not particularly easy to get caught, right.

    Then sometime in the autumn we will find out that some were paid and then after a while who paid 😀

    Very clever this thing with forest fires as hybrid warfare, you cause enormous damage and minimal risk of getting caught for Russia.

    Also waiting for some attack on LNG storage facilities in Europe if not too long, we are already about 25% below and have difficulty reaching full reserves, so a couple of neat sabotages could give us an acute import need this winter where the US would then have a noose around us.

    I find it hard to see the logic in our 25% VAT actually.

    We did some work on the house (unfortunately) and when the cost goes up a bit, 25% is quite a lot.

    The craftsmen’s hourly rates are already high due to taxes, and the material prices probably already include everything possible, but maybe one can argue for VAT on materials?

    VAT on services came first in 1991 according to Google, so a new invention and it should be zero if you ask me.

    If a craftsman charges 550 SEK, it becomes 690 SEK including VAT that I pay, and he gets what, 200 SEK after tax?

    SVT had a segment where the headline was a quote saying that the fires are worse this time.
    If you click on the video, the Spanish guy says, according to SVT’s own subtitles, that it was worse last time.
    How many people just read the headline and don’t bother clicking on the video? How often does this kind of “blunder” happen? No wonder people lose trust in SVT. All that’s missing is for Nike to tilt their head and look tearful.

    I wrote to them and asked if they could make up their minds.
    They changed the headline.

    So damn bad that they let something like this pass.
