Ukrainian drones attacked several locations in Russia during the night. Explosions were reported from Belgorod, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog. According to unconfirmed Russian reports, residential buildings and civilians were affected, but if true, it is assumed to be due to Russian air defense or debris.
In Belgorod, it was claimed that 12 people were injured when a residential building and 15 parked cars were set on fire, and additionally, one house was partially destroyed and several apartment buildings were damaged.
In the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, explosions were heard later during the night. Rostov-on-Don’s mayor, Alexander Skryabin, confirmed Ukrainian attacks and said that a residential building was damaged as a result of a Ukrainian attack, and the governor of Rostov region, Yuriy Slyusar, reported that two people were killed and five others injured in the city, adding that warehouse buildings and several homes were set on fire due to the attacks.
Explosions were also reported in the coastal city of Taganrog, located along Russia’s Azov Sea coast, according to the news channel Telegram Supernova Plus.
Ukraine’s General Staff reports that they attacked a facility belonging to Chornomornaftogaz as well as relay equipment used to control Russian attack drones on the Russian-occupied Crimea, and a bridge in the occupied Donetsk oblast, reported Ukraine’s General Staff.

In Saint Petersburg, for the second year in a row, the Navy Day parade had to be canceled yesterday. It is an event taken seriously in Russia; it is even a public holiday. Normally, it is a large event showcasing the Russian navy in all its glory. The main parade is held in Saint Petersburg, but celebrations also take place in many other locations where the navy is based. Putin still gave a speech to the sailors at the navy headquarters in Saint Petersburg, and the spectacle was to be broadcast so the entire Russian population could partake in the speech. However, it turned out that Saint Petersburg was conveniently hit by extensive internet disruptions on that day, so it didn’t go so well. The speech was too important to send any copy this time.
According to reports received by the blog, Putin completely lost it when he heard about the disruptions after the speech. He had spent several hours writing and rehearsing the speech, so the disappointment and humiliation were great. He began yelling and screaming so that everyone at the headquarters could hear his stubborn and monotone “Blyat, blyat, blyat,” and shortly thereafter he started throwing all loose objects he could get his hands on wildly around him. Fortunately, Putin is quite weak, but one of his poor assistants got a serious hit and suffered a concussion after being struck in the head by a bronze statuette of Stalin. When Putin’s strength began to wane and he could no longer throw any more things (three minutes later), his outburst turned into loud, inconsolable crying, and with tears streaming down his cheeks, he finally curled up in a fetal position in a corner.
Only then did anyone dare approach him and tried to comfort him in every possible way, but nothing helped. It simply ended with them having to give the tearful Putin a sedative injection, and when he also received his favorite pacifier that he always carries with him (that purple glittery thing that strangely mostly resembles a dildo), he finally began to relax and stopped crying. Half an hour later he fell asleep, and everyone could now breathe a sigh of relief. They freshened him up as best they could by wiping away all the snot and tears, but nothing could be done about his tear-swollen, red-flushed face. It almost seemed as if all the Botox he had injected over the years had absorbed all the fluid. He mostly resembled an orange basketball. “He looks like Trump,” someone said, but quickly fell silent after all the angry looks (although a few restrained smiles twitched at the corners of some mouths), no one knew if this was being recorded and could be used against them later.
There was not much more to do after the usual double diaper change; they put him on the train home to the bunker again, but before that, they gave him another sedative injection to ensure he would not wake up during the trip.
The top leadership at the Saint Petersburg naval headquarters who had been following what happened could finally relax, and to calm their nerves, the vodka came out, and as they toasted, they all agreed that they hoped it would be at least a year before Putin made another visit. According to the very latest report, their drinking is still ongoing.

I had a serious problem – not for days or weeks, but for months – in the cooperation and interaction between the Chief of the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense.
There are certain issues that we need to resolve, and these can only be resolved if the ministry cooperates with the army. It is impossible for one side to solve them alone. The main challenge is mobilization. We may face another 500,000 Russian soldiers.
We need a new approach to mobilization and new measures. I need unity between these two institutions. The second issue is air defense. We do not have enough anti-missile systems.
I don’t have time for negotiations. Listen, I don’t have time to first listen to one side and then the other, because these two sides need to meet not every day, but every hour, until our sky is protected. I don’t need to figure out who is right and who is wrong.” **

Thank you MXT for a fantastic truthful description of Tsar Putin the loser.
Which was also followed up with a complete barrage of responses. Nicely done.
Thank you!
Can only agree with Pehr!
Do I sense a slight upward trend for KWIA? Getting closer and closer to the 1600 per day (50,000 per month) required to reduce the orcs.
I recall that they mobilize/recruit barely 50,000 per month and that Ukraine’s goal was to eliminate more than they recruit.
Yes, it looks like a small increase 💪
I think the same.
Geting there✅
That fits well. It has (with some variation of course) increased over the past six months and also since the beginning of July (but then there was also a small dip).
This is how it looks from New Year’s until today, so we have the highest seven-day average so far even though there have been occasional days with higher losses earlier.

Good analysis, thanks for the link! 👍
AI summary of the interview with Laura Loomer and her complete turnaround that we discussed earlier and that Pjotr Kurzin talks about in the video I linked to above.
Laura Loomer has changed her view on the war in Ukraine and admits that she was previously deceived by Russian propaganda.
Key points from the article:
Complete reversal of opinion: The right-wing activist and Trump ally has previously spread Russian propaganda but now urges American conservatives not to trust Moscow’s disinformation.
Meeting with Zelenskyy: During a visit to Kyiv, she interviewed Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for her show on Rumble. Influence on Trump: Loomer has spoken with Donald Trump on the phone during the trip and states that her visit has already begun to change opinion within the MAGA movement.
Ongoing controversies: Despite her changed view on the war, Loomer maintains her previous far-right and Islamophobic views during the visit.
Funding: She emphasizes that she is traveling as an independent journalist and that the Ukrainian government is not paying for her trip.

The wars in Ukraine and Iran have officially merged. This is written by Wall Street Journal’s chief correspondent Yaroslav Trofimov following allegations that Ukraine has shelled Iranian ships in the Caspian Sea.
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the attacks were directed at Russian ships transporting war materials to the war in Iran. According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry, one of the ships exploded and several crew members were killed.
Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s National Security Commission, warns Ukraine that Iran may respond to the attacks.
“All attacks against Iran have a price, that still applies, just as the US and Israel have already discovered,” he writes on X.
Iran is competing with Russia to acquire the most enemies.
It was Trump/Netanyahu who started the kinetic war, but Iran has been quite good at escalating to the neighboring countries. Let’s see how long it takes before the neighbors have had enough.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is visiting the United Kingdom on Monday to meet the country’s new Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
Zelenskyy will be the first foreign leader to visit Burnham since he took office a week ago.
The visit aims to show “the United Kingdom’s unwavering support” for Ukraine, Burnham said in a statement.
The duo will visit a British naval base where Ukrainian soldiers are participating in an exercise. According to the statement, Ukraine will also get access to the new combat-tested jamming system “Stone cloak.”
On Tuesday, Zelenskyy will travel on to Washington for talks with President Donald Trump. Zelenskyy is also expected to attend Senator Lindsey Graham’s funeral.
Off-Topic, USA
“The Trump administration admits in court documents that it denied state grants totaling over 7 billion USD ‘solely based on the recipient state’s political identity,’ writes the LA Times.
The money was intended for investments in green energy but was never paid out to fifteen states that voted for the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright has previously claimed that the projects were stopped because they were bad investments.”

Banana republic…
Yes, it’s starting to look like it.
Sometimes one thinks that everything Trump does is to take revenge on his enemies, and at the same time he creates more enemies that he must take revenge on. A self-playing piano.
Off-Topic, Oil and the War in Iran
“The oil price and market interest rates are falling after the US and Iran paused hostilities overnight for the first time in nearly two weeks.
At around 06:15, the spot price of Brent oil is down nearly 6 percent to about 92.50 dollars.
– The pause in the fighting between the US and Iran has caused the oil price to retreat, but the relief in the stock market has been limited, says Fabien Yip, market analyst at IG International in Sydney, to Bloomberg.”

Off-Topic, US Politics
“Top Democrat Kamala Harris is getting ready to run in the 2028 presidential election. At least, if you are to believe former party colleague Andrew Yang, who himself tried to become the Democrats’ candidate in the 2020 election.
“I’ve heard that Kamala Harris’s team is telling people in California that she is preparing to run for president again in 2028,” Yang writes on X, without elaborating.
Yang has also opened up to making a new attempt in the 2028 election, now as an independent candidate, Fox reports.”

Should it be so difficult for the Dems to come up with a good candidate? Someone who is normally sensible and not obsessed with progressive mumbo jumbo about gender, white supremacy, and the like. That would be welcome. I once sympathized with the Democrats and liked Obama. But that was then.
Well, it’s strange that they haven’t come up with a better alternative after 1.5 years. Not that I directly dislike her, but I thought her campaigning was so-so and think they should have a better chance with someone else.
But the most important thing is probably that they agree on what visions and goals they have and don’t build the campaign solely on how terrible it will be if the other side wins.
Most states have that idiotic system with party-bound primaries that precede the actual election.
California is a brilliant exception where they have replaced primaries with a first round of voting. If more had done the same, it would have definitely produced better candidates for the actual election.
👍
Well, it is probably strange that it is so difficult to find a good and charismatic candidate.
The governor of California might be an option.
Kamala now has more time to profile herself, but I don’t think she has a better chance since she has already lost once.
Yes, Kamala more or less guarantees that Vance will win.
https://omni.se/fragan-som-hanger-kvar-hur-kunde-en-kand-terrorist-utfora-en-attack-mitt-i-berlin/a/43rLJR
Extremely ominous.
Germany has also previously been affected by Islamist terrorist attacks, so they should reasonably have been better prepared to prevent it from happening again, by a known Islamist.
Hopefully something good will come out of this tragedy.
It can only serve as an alarm clock.
One can hope that they take it seriously after this.
Known Islamists with terror connections should be given ankle monitors and “geofenced” so they are not allowed to move among other people.
Off-Topic, the fires and the climate
Whether it is arsonists who started them or not, it is the heatwaves that are becoming more frequent due to climate change, which cause the fires to spread quickly and become difficult to extinguish.
It is not just about it becoming uncomfortably hot due to the heatwaves (which also cause excess mortality); it also affects crops and, in the long run, animal husbandry, and the fires we are seeing now also cause direct losses.
Those who argue that we should ignore the climate because we cannot afford it are wrong. The costs that climate change will cause will be enormously higher than the transition that needs to be made.
We need to increase pressure on the USA, China, and India and demand that they do even more if they want to trade with us, not that we suddenly back down and ignore doing anything.
“Finance Minister: ‘The fires are a cold shower for the economy’
Over 13,000 companies have been evacuated due to the fires, says France’s Finance Minister Roland Lescure during a press conference according to BFM TV.
He describes the fires around Bordeaux in the southwestern part of the country as a serious blow to the local economy.
– It is a cold shower for a region that really did not need this, says Lescure according to Reuters.”

“France’s President Emmanuel Macron has called an emergency meeting on Monday with several ministers due to the forest fires raging near the city of Bordeaux, writes BBC.
During the night, no dramatic changes are said to have occurred but the fire is still not under control, writes AFP. A new heatwave threatens to complicate the work at the beginning of the week. So far, more than 250,000 people have been forced to evacuate in southern France.
Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said on Sunday evening that it cannot be ruled out that the fire will reach Bordeaux, writes Bloomberg.

“The fire in Spanish Ávila is the largest ever in the country’s history after 50,000 hectares have burned, writes TT.
Neither the fire in Ávila nor the one in Madrid is under control. According to El Pais, the fires are said to have met on Saturday. But according to sources to the newspaper, this has happened before without the fires forming a single large fire.
The government’s representative for Madrid, Francisco Martín, urges the public to be cautious, writes El Mundo.
– The fire is intense and its extent means we must be prepared for unexpected developments.
About 90,000 people have been evacuated in the areas, writes BBC.”

The EU might as well do like the USA and invoke a Climate Emergency and introduce sky-high “import emission fees” for the mentioned countries, as well as enter into free trade agreements with countries that have the same ascetic legislation as on our continent. That way, there will be competition on equal terms.
If you wrote or said this a couple of years ago, even though it was true back then, you were a death-addicted climate-denying Nazi. Now our fantastic state TV has discovered that it apparently was true.
https://www.svt.se/nyheter/inrikes/kyla-dodar-fler-an-varme-men-det-kommer-forandras
Future outlook: If we get a new left-wing government in the autumn, don’t be surprised if the tone becomes more totalitarian.
The fact that more people die from cold probably has no real relevance when it comes to climate change? Possibly as an argument that some think climate change is only good because fewer will freeze to death.
Even though instead more people will die from heat and famine, etc., which will follow later on.
(Climate change will likely make certain places, such as the Nordic countries and Russia, more pleasant to live in during a transitional period, somewhat depending on what happens with the Gulf Stream for us in the Nordics, but I see that as a weak argument for not doing anything about it.)
Aha, so climate change is only negative if it gets warmer? What a weak argument! Cherrypicking!
We will get colder in the winter and warmer in the summer, both cause problems, but according to you, it’s only the summer we should worry about!
Climate deniers!
We are adapted to a certain temperature range. If we were adapted to life in the cold, we would have fur like polar bears, or a layer of blubber. The reason we can live through the Nordic winter is that we have invented clothes and can heat our houses.
We are also not adapted to extreme heat and humidity, but we tolerate heat better than cold, as long as the temperature and humidity allow us to cool ourselves by sweating.
It is drought, fires, floods, hurricanes, etc., that will cause problems when the temperature rises, at least between the tropics.
Here there is a risk that the Gulf Stream will weaken, which would bring Siberian cold, and that would not be great, as Germany would get crowded if at the same time the Mediterranean region becomes a desert.
Off-Topic, the tariffs:
“Donald Trump’s new tariffs are being introduced in a completely different situation for the global economy than before and risk becoming a long-term brake on global growth, experts tell CNBC.
They not only show that the US has decided to stick with the tariffs, but are also introduced amid a global energy shock with growing bottlenecks in supply chains.
– For the market, the conclusion is clear: We must position ourselves for an environment with low growth and high inflation, says CG Asset Management’s Emma Moriarty to CNBC.
Ebury’s strategist Matthew Ryan assesses that the market may begin to see the tariffs as a structural barrier to growth.
On Thursday, Trump announced that new import tariffs of 10-12.5 percent will be imposed on over 80 countries, as the old tariffs expired.”

Is it a bit low season in here MXT?
What do silent visitors look like?
The weather is still too good maybe 😩
High pressure outside, low pressure in here. I will check next time I am at the computer but there are probably slightly fewer visitors than before the summer.
The fires are larger than in previous years down in Europe.
Eventually, many have been arrested for starting them, cheap and risk-free for RU this
162 arrested in France since 6/6. They should be sentenced for attempted murder!
There have also been several “terror attacks” this summer, could it possibly be Iran that has started up?
Shouldn’t one flag why and who the originator is for a terror threat to have an effect?
General irritation against Muslims might be a good reason, then they could unite and cooperate against the West. That would be good for Iran, although a start might be to not bomb their intended partners.
Now the purpose is probably to drive polarization.
During the Cold War, the anti-Semitism in West Germany was KGB agents running around with markers and graffiti.
Today, you probably get the most effect with bacon in Qurans and beheadings accompanied by a resounding alahu akbar.
Iran and Russia are good candidates.
Speaking of Iran and bacon, I do wonder if they would have used a second-hand refrigerated truck from the Finnish K-chain when they took Khameini away if they had known how many tons of bacon, sausages, and fillets had been transported in it. 😀
The defense company Saab has received an order for two Global Eye aircraft from a country in the Middle East region. The order value amounts to 10.1 billion SEK, and the planes will be delivered in 2030. This is stated in a press release. – The growing interest in GlobalEye in the global market shows that the system meets the high demands placed on air defense capabilities today, says Micael Johansson, CEO and Group President of Saab, in the press release. Due to the nature of the industry and circumstances concerning the customer as well as national security interests, no further information about the order or the customer will be disclosed, Saab states.
At the same time as we are supposed to rid ourselves of these rogue states by reducing oil dependence, we gladly sell military equipment to them.
“If not us, then someone else would have done it” apparently only works one way, the “right” way.

Europe has treated China terribly, now it is time to stop importing everything Chinese and then build for ourselves.
It is the most environmentally friendly thing we can do.
What? Aren’t we supposed to be able to buy a new iPhone every year? At the low price of 20,000 SEK?
How are we supposed to manage?
17000 as far as I can see for the latest model. The elite always have iPhones like my sons. For me, a Xiaomi with Android for 1500 works perfectly fine.
Good grief, the mudslinging has really started before the election now 😐
It never ceases to surprise, but now Simona Mohamsson is the number two hate target, and she is a woman with an immigrant background from Palestine and the party leader for the Liberals 😀
The tone is also starting to become more than reasonably high now with many attempts at polarization where the bar is constantly being moved; now apparently all immigrants should be expelled if you read any newspaper. I try to read up on who is driving this and can’t find it.
Then lots of discussions about “Swedishness,” whether integration is actually discrimination, and lots of scare propaganda.
At some point, citizens actually start to believe in this kind of thing anyway, and I think it’s more than irresponsibly reckless to keep doing this just to try to win an election.
She has sold her soul to Åkesson. Then the left-wing media have a nervous breakdown. If they had managed to bring L over to the left side just like C, then S would have secured power for many years ahead.
🎯
That said, there are few adults in the room regardless of party affiliation. Americanization is noticeable.
A law that forbids politicians from talking about other people’s politics? It would be fun to see a debate for once: We want to do this…
Not: You want to do this, and that’s bad because…
Yes, and somewhat my point – women and immigrants are oppressed by the Tidö Agreement, but if they themselves join the Tidö Agreement, they are gladly stoned, or at least bullied into the psychiatric emergency room. A logic that is hard to interpret in any other way than that it’s all about winning an election 😀
Don’t forget that it is always a threat to democracy if the Social Democrats don’t win the election!
Up for the fight comrades! Ave Andersson!
Just so it’s clear, even this year MANY people are being arrested for starting these fires, they do NOT occur by themselves.
The only thing that surprises me is that people can be arrested at all, but the police seem to be on the ball.

That there are longer and possibly more heatwaves with higher temperatures causing the ground to dry out earlier and thus become more flammable is probably not in doubt at all.
But it is not the climate that sets the fire, it is fools who should be locked up or keelhauled at the nearest cooling water intake of a nuclear power plant.
Nine out of ten French forest fires have been caused by humans, writes the country’s Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu in a post on X.
According to Lecornu, it is primarily due to people acting carelessly, for example when grilling or by throwing away cigarette butts that have not been properly extinguished.
He also points out that not everything is about accidents, and that French authorities have arrested 162 people connected to fires since the beginning of July.
Since the fire season began, over 13,500 fires have been recorded.

“Our country is going through an unprecedented fire season,” writes the French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu on X.
There he also goes through the numbers: Since January, just over 116,000 hectares have burned and 13,566 fires have been recorded.
In the post, he writes that most of the fires are due to carelessness with, for example, cigarette butts or grills, but that some are also deliberately set.
“It is a crime, with a penalty of up to 15 years in prison. Since July 6, 162 arrests have been made,” writes Lecornu and continues:
“The security forces are fully mobilized to identify the people behind the fires. They will be tracked down, arrested, and held accountable for their actions in court.”
Fire clouds have formed
The forest fires outside Bordeaux in southwestern France have grown to a size that can cause them to create their own weather phenomena. A so-called fire cloud has now formed, where hot air rises from the fire and forms a cloud when it cools higher up in the atmosphere. The cloud can generate thunder and lightning, which strike down and create new fires.
On Monday, France’s President Emmanuel Macron held a crisis meeting with his council of ministers. At 5 p.m., a press conference was held, where Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said that the fire in Gironde, outside Bordeaux, is living its own life.
– It is autonomous, it is self-sustaining, it goes a bit in all directions. We are confronted in Gironde with a phenomenon that has no precedent, said Nuñez.
220,000 people have been forced to leave their homes in Gironde. So far, no decision has been made to evacuate Bordeaux.

😊
Well, at least the vacation will be good in a few months, it took its fair share of time to argue about it 😀
Yes, there are very many arrested in France who have been open about it, certainly some in Spain, Germany, and the UK as well who are coming forward.
The spicy part is that if you go out into the forest, light a fire, and then run away from there, it’s not particularly easy to get caught, right.
Then sometime in the autumn we will find out that some were paid and then after a while who paid 😀
Very clever this thing with forest fires as hybrid warfare, you cause enormous damage and minimal risk of getting caught for Russia.
Also waiting for some attack on LNG storage facilities in Europe if not too long, we are already about 25% below and have difficulty reaching full reserves, so a couple of neat sabotages could give us an acute import need this winter where the US would then have a noose around us.
I find it hard to see the logic in our 25% VAT actually.
We did some work on the house (unfortunately) and when the cost goes up a bit, 25% is quite a lot.
The craftsmen’s hourly rates are already high due to taxes, and the material prices probably already include everything possible, but maybe one can argue for VAT on materials?
VAT on services came first in 1991 according to Google, so a new invention and it should be zero if you ask me.
If a craftsman charges 550 SEK, it becomes 690 SEK including VAT that I pay, and he gets what, 200 SEK after tax?
Do you want the chiiiiildren, the elderly, and the sick to die? All taxes in Sweden go to something good! What a horrible person you are!
Ha!
SVT had a segment where the headline was a quote saying that the fires are worse this time.
If you click on the video, the Spanish guy says, according to SVT’s own subtitles, that it was worse last time.
How many people just read the headline and don’t bother clicking on the video? How often does this kind of “blunder” happen? No wonder people lose trust in SVT. All that’s missing is for Nike to tilt their head and look tearful.
I wrote to them and asked if they could make up their minds.
They changed the headline.
So damn bad that they let something like this pass.
Creepy
