Ukraine has attacked two oil depots – Russian losses

Ukraine states that they have attacked the Mikhailovskaya oil depot in the village of Mikhailovsk in Stavropol Krai; this is the second time it has been attacked in just a few days. At the same time, reports also indicate that an oil depot in the nearby village of Vyazniki was attacked; the governor has confirmed that a fire broke out in an industrial area. Explosions have also been heard in the Moscow region, likely from air defense activation. Unfortunately, there are still no details on whether Ukraine has succeeded in hitting any targets. Read more at Kyiv Independent and watch the video here.

Russian losses

Russia continues to suffer heavy losses, and today’s report included an especially high number of KIA as well as a significant number of soft-skinned vehicles, although it is not a record. Also notable are 4 air defense systems and 5 special equipment.

  • 1600 KIA
  • 5 Tanks
  • 3 AFVs
  • 56 Artillery systems
  • 1 MLRS
  • 4 Air defense systems
  • 1734 UAVs
  • 11 UGVs
  • 494 Vehicles & fuel tanks
  • 5 Special equipment
  • 7 Cruise missiles

Summary from the Ukrainian General Staff

  • 257 combat clashes
  • 70 aviation strikes
  • 246 KAB/CAB
  • 8,676 kamikaze drones
  • 3,296 shells (32 from MLRS)

As I have written before, it seems Russia can no longer increase the number of suicide drones and has reached a plateau. The increase was otherwise very high for a period. At the same time, artillery has decreased and seems to have stabilized at a lower level. Regarding the shells, I do not expect any major changes; however, I guess Russia is trying to increase the number of suicide drones again, and we may see them rise once more.

  1. Four people are reported to have been killed and seven injured in Ukrainian drone attacks on Moscow, according to the governor of the Russian capital in a post on Telegram cited by several news agencies.

It is the second consecutive day that Ukraine has attacked Moscow. The attacks are mainly aimed at energy facilities, in response to Russia’s more than four-year-long war of attrition.

Several people have also been killed in Russian attacks on Ukraine over the weekend.

  2. As we have stated several times, the Russian bastards are given several opportunities to learn the meaning of FAFO. Putin and his gangster regime in the Kremlin are reaping more victims.

  3. Before we pat ourselves too much on the back (we have done many things right in recent years), it is also good to hear the truth and be ashamed of the complacency and hypocrisy that long characterized our foreign policy.

In the mid-2010s, Bill Browder traveled around Europe to get more countries to introduce national Magnitsky laws, after the US had done so in 2012.
He believed that Sweden should be one of the easiest countries to convince, since Sweden had long positioned itself as a defender of human rights.
According to Browder, the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instead very hostile. He has said that the officials basically told him that Sweden did not want to provoke Russia and that they did not intend to proceed with his proposal. He describes the meeting with phrases like being “thrown out of the Swedish Foreign Ministry” or “kicked out,” which is his own description of how abruptly the meeting ended.

The politically responsible foreign minister was Margot Wallström.

    https://www.tv4.se/artikel/7qZhW27JcG1ANxQpvkYoEc/putinkritikerns-ilska-mot-sverige-regeringen-slaengde-ut-mig

    1. Analysis, thorough. Wallström has fallen off the radar. What did she say about NATO, and has she commented at all on Russia’s full-scale invasion? What did Wallström say about Crimea in 2014?

    2. Interesting, and we were really naive (not to say stupid).

Of course, we were not alone, many who did not realize that Russia could become a serious threat and many who wanted to take the opportunity to do business with them.

    3. Now I don’t hold MW in particularly high regard, not high at all. And I usually like Bildt, but regarding Russia and standing up to them, as foreign minister he has not convinced at all. *As a comment on how previous Swedish foreign ministers have handled the Muscovite.

    1. Really lousy, I guess the war in Iran has played a certain role since there might not have been so many other options.

Two posts in a row that fit well together with gas as the common denominator.

        1. Probably, but it is so damn low. Some things have to cost. Otherwise, it becomes a bit like when the Green Party usually argues against nuclear power, suddenly CO2-neutral energy sources are not allowed to cost money.

  4. Soon, there will be no need for “boots on the ground” only different kind of drones.

** Soldiers of the 123rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade conducted the world’s first combat mission of this kind: a ground robotic complex was delivered to the enemy shore by an unmanned marine platform, landed on occupied territory, and successfully used to complete a combat task. **

  6. Then we once again had a major power outage here in Gävle that also affected the fiber network.
It is happening more and more often. Previously about once a year, now maybe not every month, but not far from it.

    Apologies for the interruption!

    1. Why then, if I may ask?

Isn’t that the case in Stockholm, for example, and we’ve clarified the same electricity area, haven’t we?

    2. By extensive I meant extensive for being in central Gävle (it was just over 15,000 subscribers affected and for some strange reason it is always “my” half of the city) not the entire electricity area.

Why they never give any explanation for.

  7. You are forgiven, MXT. I was thinking of taking my grandson to visit the railway museum. Haven’t been there since they renovated it. The road to Gävle is long, but if it had been shorter, it wouldn’t have been enough 🙂🙂

    1. Thank you!

I’m a bit embarrassed now. Even though I live here, I actually haven’t gotten around to visiting after they renovated. 🤷‍♂️

  8. Update above post disappeared during the outage.

The chart shows intensity significantly higher than during the same period (May/June/July) 2025, and that this increase is not driven by Russian attacks (purple, not pink).

This is the biggest number of listings we have done so far. It’s also reaction to the attacks that Russia has had on the civilians recently. Then we have discussion on the Black Sea strategy. So, we have the maritime hub there ready, Bulgaria and Romania working together, really addressing the protection of critical infrastructure, but also the hybrid threats that are in this region. We are going to also agree on a new partnership mission for Armenia to fight the hybrid threads. **

  10. Europe is ready to defend freedom and the rule of law “even at the cost of blood.” This was said by the President of France in a speech to the country’s armed forces on Monday, reports Le Figaro. – The message we send to the world is this: Yes, peace is our goal. Yes, we value freedom and the rule of law. And yes, we are ready to defend them. Always, and even at the cost of blood if necessary, said Macron. At the same time, he called for expanded European defense cooperation, writes AFP. On Monday, at least 25 heads of state and government from the “coalition of the willing” are gathering in Paris to show support for Ukraine and put pressure on Russia.

What do you mean China’s and the USA’s fault? Isn’t it the environmentalists’ fault?

“Volkswagen may need to lay off 50,000 employees to meet the challenges from competitors. This is written by CEO Oliver Blume in an internal memo, which Reuters has read. The memo confirms for the first time reports that the German automotive giant may lay off as many as 100,000 employees, according to the news agency. Blume writes in the memo that Volkswagen has 20 percent higher costs than comparable competitors. To address this, the company is now reviewing which adjustments “are necessary and possible.” The car giant is pressured by increasing competition from China and from American tariffs.”

    https://omni.se/a/3pP750

      1. Higher costs than the competitors do not automatically mean that it is VW that has high costs. China is a cheap country with a government that has no problem favoring its companies (then they automatically have a great advantage of a huge domestic market to distribute costs for research, development, and investments).

The US tariffs also have nothing to do with VW’s own costs.

But sure, green transition with tougher regulations certainly plays a small part in it, but that is the line we want to maintain, as well as fair working environment regulations, etc.

Yes, except for a few who want us to become like China, of course. Those who long for how it once looked in the Ruhr area.. 😉

    1. One-sided environmental requirements from the Green Party/equivalent despite emissions ending up outside Europe. Leads to the mentioned cost advantages for China, which is not imposed any requirements from the same organization. American tariffs have the same cause: low-price production that is not subject to environmental requirements.

Ended tragically. Do not drink if you are operating a vehicle, whether on land or at sea.

“A woman has died after a motorboat she was traveling in collided with a lighthouse in Furusundsleden outside Norrtälje, reports SVT Nyheter Stockholm. The accident occurred during the night towards Saturday. The woman was taken to the hospital where she was treated for serious injuries and has now died. A man is suspected of causing another person’s death, aggravated drunk boating, and gross negligence in maritime traffic.”

“Over 10,000 more people than usual died in Europe during the heatwave that hit the continent at the end of June, reports Reuters, citing official statistics. The data is taken from 27 European countries and includes all deaths beyond the expected number during the period June 22-28. – It is unusual to see such excess mortality at this time of year. It is very high and difficult to explain by anything other than the extreme heat, says Danish chief physician Lasse Vestergaard to the news agency. Extreme heat can, among other things, cause heatstroke that can worsen cardiovascular diseases. A large majority of the deaths were people over 65 years old.”

Ordinary Palestinians have both Hamas and Israel against them.

“Hamas terrorists are obstructing humanitarian aid in Gaza and intimidating aid workers in the area. This is stated by UN official Ramiz Alakbarov in a statement. The UN condemns the actions of the terrorist organization, which it says endanger the vital relief efforts in the area. On Saturday, armed men linked to Hamas forced their way into a food distribution site in Jabalia in northern Gaza Strip, writes AFP. Hamas men also entered one of the UN’s warehouses and assaulted two truck drivers delivering humanitarian aid. These are not isolated incidents, says Alakbarov. ‘This reflects an increasingly dangerous pattern of threats, violence, and obstacles,’ says the UN official. Hamas still controls parts of Gaza.”

    https://omni.se/a/V65kE3

“At least six people were killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip on Sunday, including a nine-year-old girl, reports Reuters. According to the Hamas-run health authority, the girl, named Tala Abu Matar, was killed by Israeli fire in the al-Bureij tent camp in central Gaza. The Israeli military states that it is not aware of the incident. Four people were killed when rockets struck a foundry in Gaza City. The Israeli military claims to have targeted one of Hamas’s weapons factories. Over 1,000 people have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire came into effect in October last year.”

    https://omni.se/a/GxOKvm

    1. Terrible.
In hindsight, one must conclude that it was a big mistake to vote the terrorist group Hamas into government representatives (which, by the way, one should have realized).

  15. Graham is not letting go.

The aorta ruptured according to the first autopsy report; now they are waiting for lab tests.

The police say no foul play and no foreign power involved.

Other GOP members urge to pass his bill against RU this week.

It was probably a bit early for the police to make a statement; before they know that Putin didn’t do a Stalin-style death on him from a tox screening, one should probably keep quiet, but maybe it’s pressure to silence the conspirators?

      1. The attacks on Putin’s shadow fleet are escalating, and within the span of a week, Ukraine has struck 90 oil tankers in the Sea of Azov. Meanwhile, queues at gas stations in Russia continue to grow, and bicycle sales are soaring.

Since last Monday, Ukraine has intensified attacks on Russian ships in the Sea of Azov off Crimea, writes the American think tank ISW. On average, they have hit a boat every other hour, says Robert “Madjar” Brovdi, leader of the drone force USF, to The Kyiv Independent.

The attacks mark a new phase in the Ukrainians’ strategy to isolate the Russian-occupied peninsula and stop fuel transports.

The inability to defend against the drones has also raised concerns among Russian military bloggers. According to ISW, an influential blogger with ties to the Kremlin is critical of the country’s lack of a coordinated system to protect the ships in the Sea of Azov.

But the war at sea is not the only threat Moscow faces. Ukraine’s long-range attacks on oil infrastructure inside Russia expose weaknesses in the country’s air defense and put pressure on the Kremlin, writes the think tank.

Fights as people queue for gasoline

At the same time, queues at gas stations continue to grow. Ukraine has attacked Russia’s ten largest oil refineries from Saint Petersburg in the west to Omsk in the east, reports Deutsche Welle.

In some regions, drivers are forced to wait days to refuel. Many gas stations have been forced to close, and at those still open, kilometer-long queues form. It is also not uncommon for fights to break out between drivers.

A woman in the city of Gelendzhik in the Krasnodar region has tried to refuel for three days but has yet to find any gasoline.

        – It is literally a fight for survival, the woman tells the newspaper.

        Russians buy bicycles and horses

Many Russians are now leaving their cars at home and trying to find alternative ways to travel. More and more are turning to public transport, and demand for taxis has caused prices to rise. On the e-commerce platform CDEK.Shopping, bicycle sales have increased by 131 percent from May to June.

In rural areas, breeders report that demand for workhorses has skyrocketed, according to the Telegram channel Mash.

Support for Vladimir Putin has also been affected by the ongoing fuel crisis. His approval rating dropped from 74 to 69 percent, according to a survey by the Russian polling institute FOM, conducted at the end of June. This is the lowest figure since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022.

It has probably already been mentioned here a long time ago that Trump will try to cash in on the extortion money.😂

“USA will ‘retain, and probably manage’ the Strait of Hormuz, says Donald Trump in an interview with the TV program ‘Fox & friends’. – We will become the guardians of the strait. We might call it the strait’s guardian angels. And we should get paid for that, he continues. The president gives no details on how this will be done or who he wants to be paid by. The USA and Iran have once again escalated attacks against each other in recent days. The USA claims the strait is closed, and Iran that it is open. Traffic through the strait has dropped to the lowest level in two months, shipping data shows according to Reuters.”

    https://omni.se/a/QJwKzA

    1. Would rather pay Trump personally than the regime in Iran. Giving the US protection money is somewhat reasonable in a way, but it goes against free shipping.

The strait should be open and free, which is basically the foundation of all maritime transport.

      1. Hope no one pays, so both of those fools end up standing there with long faces. Unfortunately, it will be Saudi Arabia that profits the most when the cables are laid across their land.

      2. Yes, you don’t want any money to go to Iran. But if the US gets money, you never know which strait they will take it upon themselves to guard next time.

I think it’s completely unreasonable that any ransom money should be paid at all.

      3. It may be that he wants to put pressure on Iran not to charge any fees after the MOU expires. A deal where “if you don’t charge any fees, we won’t charge any fees either.”

    2. “Iran will not allow the USA to interfere with how the Strait of Hormuz is controlled, says the country’s highest military leadership according to Reuters. All attempts by the US military to pass through the strait outside the routes designated by Iran, and without coordination with the Iranian military, will meet ‘strong resistance.’ The statement comes after Donald Trump said that the USA will ‘take over’ the Strait of Hormuz and act as its ‘guardian angels,’ for which he wants to be paid.”

      https://omni.se/a/lnJLGG

    3. “The USA reinstates the blockade against Iranian ports, writes Donald Trump on Truth Social. The USA will also demand a fee of 20 percent on all freight passing through the Strait of Hormuz, he continues. The money will go towards keeping the strait secure, according to Trump. “The USA will henceforth be known as the guardian of the Strait of Hormuz,” he writes. The process begins immediately.”

      https://omni.se/a/lnJage

      1. First and foremost, it is illegal and besides, 20% of the cargo’s value is pure madness.

Sharp protests are expected from all sides if he is serious.

    4. “There is no legal basis for imposing mandatory tolls for passage through a strait used for international shipping. This is stated by a spokesperson for the UN’s maritime authority IMO according to Reuters. The statement comes just over an hour after US President Donald Trump announced that the US will charge for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. The UN further says that the maritime authority is waiting to receive more details about Trump’s statement.”

      https://omni.se/a/L4kX34

      1. The talk before was that Iran would get a fee after those 60 days. A bit like all politicians, we promise to remove tax X before the election, after the election fee Y is introduced. So IMO correct tariffs are prohibited, but fees are probably okay.

The FBI is expected to participate in the investigation along with local police, according to Fecteau. That’s almost 10 times the normal prices.

  22. Presidential election for the Duma this fall. And as usual, Putin is clearing out the opponents even before the sham election. The opposition is systematically eliminated. No real election – just a staged spectacle.

But at the same time, another election campaign has started. A campaign 🐝🐝🐝 that Putin has not managed to stop.

As Pehr writes in his post above: “Support for Vladimir Putin has also been affected by the ongoing fuel crisis. His approval rating dropped from 74 to 69 percent, according to a survey by the Russian polling institute FOM, conducted at the end of June. This is the lowest figure since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022.”

Putin has sent Peskov to ask the White House to tell Ukraine to stop attacking Russian infrastructure and oil refineries.

It will be an interesting election for the Duma.

  23. **🇬🇧**Putin’s approval rating plummets: 74% in June (Levada) – the lowest since the 2022 invasion, down from 87% in September 2025. Support for the war: 78% → 67%. Petrol shortages following attacks on infrastructure force Putin to comment – he blames “incompetent officials”. The public does not seem to be buying it.

  24. CNN reports that the White House has informed them that Trump will support passing the bipartisan Russia sanctions proposed by Sen. Lindsey Graham.

The bill will make it possible for Trump to place tariffs on countries buying Russian oil.

    1. Hope
Trump will support one of the recently deceased Senator Lindsey Graham’s key issues – namely a sanctions package against Russia. This is reported by a source within the White House to Bloomberg.
The package is intended to put pressure on the Kremlin by punishing countries that trade with Russia or buy Russian oil.
Previously, the White House has opposed sanctions against Russia, citing that they would undermine efforts to mediate peace through diplomacy.

  25. We have now dived deep into the healthcare system here in the Dominican Republic, what a day 😲

You might remember the school system; in this country, money is just a start, then you have to earn the privilege to attend school or seek healthcare.

An interesting system where money doesn’t solve everything.
