Ukrainian drones attacked an explosives manufacturing facility in the city of Dzerzhinsk in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia. According to social media, several explosions were heard during the night. The state-owned facility is part of Russia’s defense sector and produces ammunition, explosives, and industrial chemicals used in the war against Ukraine. Read more here.
About a day ago, Ukrainian drones attacked the main Russian oil pipeline pumping station in Perm, and according to reports, it has now suffered another powerful explosion. Whether Ukraine attacked it again or if the fire spread and caused the explosion is not yet known. Posts here and here.
Russian losses in Ukraine
Today’s report on Russian losses in the war in Ukraine is enormous.
1470 KWIA is high but not unusual. The losses of tanks and other armored vehicles are also not remarkable, but 119 artillery pieces is really high, the second highest in the entire war. It was admittedly not many days ago that we had 114, but before that, we have to go back to March 28, 2025, to find the record of 122.
Two helicopters are also not very common, and when it comes to soft vehicles for logistics, etc., we have a new record. The previous record was 312 and dates from April 18, 2025. The war in Ukraine continues to generate large losses of equipment and personnel for Russia, and sooner or later it will become unsustainable.
- 1470 KWIA
- 7 Tanks
- 7 AFVs
- 119 Artillery systems
- 1 MLRS
- 2 Helicopters
- 1327 UAVs
- 375 Vehicles and Fuel tanks
- 2 Special equipment

Russian activities in the war in Ukraine
The number of clashes does not indicate any increased activity, but on the other hand, the number does not say anything about the extent of the Russian attacks. Unfortunately, the suicide drones are now again at a high level, not far below the records. Otherwise, there has been a downward trend since the beginning of April, which was already broken yesterday. The trend for artillery has been similar and has also increased since yesterday and is back at a higher level (albeit significantly lower than earlier in the war).
This makes me suspect that Russia may have held back a bit and waited to replenish supplies, and what we are now seeing is a renewed offensive. If that is true, we should see continued high levels of suicide drones and artillery. Another more positive explanation could be that it is Ukraine that is now pressing and has forced Russia to implement countermeasures despite possibly starting to run low and wanting to hold back.
- 177 combat clashes
- 69 air strikes
- 226 KAB/CAB
- 9,683 kamikaze drones
- 3,326 shells (48 from MLRS)

mtp higher KWiA not unusually many more unlocalized today. But a decent number. 50 pcs. Ratio 0.4. Still think one should have seen an increase in the number/ratio. With just over 2 KWiA/localized, it becomes 24 KWiA per unlocalized attack which is exactly within the range 5-25 observed previously. A Ukrainian counterattack does not happen per motorcycle or on foot, and then it is probably under the right conditions conceivable to defeat quite a few enemies? Then it may be about HIMARS etc. which are not counted as attacks but take out enemy personnel. And a thousand other things that are not reported in detail. Considering two helicopters, it may have been about combat far behind the front line, perhaps a base.

AFU yesterday:
⚡️⚡️Parts of the air defense system, an ammunition depot, an oil depot, and the enemy’s drone control centers have been hit
⚡️Yesterday and during the night of April 29, units within the Ukrainian defense forces carried out a series of attacks against the Russian occupiers’ facilities.
⚡️Important parts of the enemy’s air defense and radar equipment have been hit. In particular, the radar station “MR-10,” the air defense command center, and the ground-based radar “Parol-4” (1L22) at the “Kacha” airport (TOT AR Crimea) were hit. Additionally, the “Tor” surface-to-air missile system in the Tykhonivka area of the Zaporizhzhia region was hit.
⚡️Logistics facilities belonging to the invaders have been hit – an ammunition depot in the area around Pervomaiske and the “TES” oil depot in Simferopol in the occupied Crimean Autonomous Republic.
⚡️A separate operational area is to weaken the enemy’s control systems for unmanned aerial vehicles. Drone launch sites have been hit in the areas of Hulyajpol, Zaliznychne, and Tykhonivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, Bondarevsk, Komar, and in the area around the village of Zaporizhzhia in the Donetsk region, as well as in Tjotkino in the Kursk region of Russia.
⚡️Additionally, workshops belonging to the enemy’s drone units have been hit in the Bondarevskije area in the Donetsk region and Burchak in the Zaporizhzhia region.
⚡️Furthermore, Ukrainian units have hit the enemy’s command and observation post in the area around Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region.
Many small streams. The constant exploitation of rear Russian resources will sooner or later have an impact. Go Ukraine!

Goodness, what a mess of blame! Two wrongs don’t make a right. Just because Biden’s senility increased and became unbearable, you don’t necessarily have to repeat the same mistake.
Look at the guys sitting behind him, I interpret their expressionless faces as them not wanting to be there.
But I agree with her, maybe Hegseth should be questioned?
Unfortunately, it’s too much like Russia now, puppets and yes-men who, when things start to smell fishy, will change sides as quickly as they can (Green, Rogan, Jones, and others were lightning fast at that).
I am focusing on Iran, Russia is more distant and abstract and out of reach for the USA. Iran, on the other hand, is a possible target. Not impossible. But not easy either. Russia is anything but under control for the USA and all statements about Russia should be taken with a large grain of salt. Including the latest statements from Trump in the past day about Ukraine not having control. It is precisely Ukraine that has control.
Yes, UA has total control and RU and the USA are running around like headless chickens.
UA does not have total control; if they did, the whole of Ukraine would have been liberated. But they are grinding on, and hopefully, this will lead to a Russian collapse. Right now, the feeling is that Ukraine has the time while RU is holding the clock.
Unfortunately, oil prices come as a savior in times of need. Sometimes you can’t help but wonder.
Total control of the situation
Trump’s statement that Ukraine’s air force, navy, etc. is as good as defeated came from Putin, or it was “just” that he mixed up the countries.
He constantly repeats the Kremlin’s talking points.
No one really raises their eyebrows anymore, and Ukraine no longer seems to cherish the relationship as much.

In the background: “North Korea’s nuclear arsenal is approaching a critical turning point: it is becoming so large that it could potentially overwhelm the ground-based missile defense systems the United States has spent billions developing over the past 30 years. According to Bloomberg, North Korea’s nuclear capabilities may be outpacing U.S. defense systems.
💬 “South Korean President Lee Jae-myung stated in late January that Pyongyang is now capable of producing enough weapons-grade material for up to 20 nuclear weapons per year. This places it on a trajectory to rival France’s stockpile within the next decade—if not in technological sophistication, then at least in sheer volume. The construction or expansion of fissile material production facilities could further accelerate this growth, even as the country continues developing new delivery methods,” the article states.”

Why doesn’t anyone go after NK? Their ties to China? Are people so afraid of China?
Why isn’t there any “deal” made with China and NK? Why is this allowed to continue?
Trump made a deal with NK during his first term.
The deal was that they would be allowed to build up your nuclear arsenal? Then Trump is more corrupt and West-hating than I thought.
NK has nuclear weapons, once you gain access to nuclear weapons you become “untouchable” for the USA.
There has been surprisingly little nuclear threat from Russia as well, despite Ukraine bombing their territory, but maybe they partly do not work.
I don’t think the Western world including Japan/South Korea feels threatened by NK. Regardless of any nuclear weapons and all the test launches, the country wants to be at peace. In other words, they are arming themselves so that no country will attack.
NK attacked SK, unprovoked, it was believed in 1950. But it was not unprovoked. Syngman Rhee, SK’s far-right leader who belonged to the terrorist group “The White Clothes Society,” wanted, together with the USA, to attack NK already the year before. Even Secretary of State Dean Acheson believed that Rhee provoked NK to attack. Rhee wanted war under all circumstances. Many South Koreans also wanted NK to win. They did not want to fight for profiteers or die for the hated Syngman Rhee. Expressions made by American officers in SK after the war included “let’s make sure these yellow guys don’t start another war” and “These yellow guys don’t need colleges. We should shut down the places and train them to be coolies.” This attitude partly explains why knowledge about the Korean War was so deficient in the USA. The attitudes within the American military did not fit to be reported on.

Interesting, I didn’t know that, but I probably haven’t read much about the Korean War.
Re MTX comment on donations, I seem to remember reading somewhere that Swish charges per transaction for the recipient (companies and similar) in some cases, so I Swish a slightly larger amount a couple of times a year instead of every month. But maybe it doesn’t matter in your case?
👍
Yes, you are right, I don’t remember exactly now (there are a few variants) but I think it is 3 SEK per transaction, so when it comes to small amounts of a few tens, the portion that goes to Swish becomes quite large and then it is much better to donate less often.
If it is about a hundred SEK or more, it doesn’t matter that much. You have to expect 2-4% in transaction costs regardless of the payment solution.
Swish is among the absolutely cheapest when it comes to somewhat larger amounts, but for small sums they are not so good precisely because of that fixed fee.
This is how critical the energy supply in the EU is.
What do you think France has 🧐

He is right – without France, Europe would have been in darkness
It’s the wind power, you understand?
This is starting to become ridiculous.
Are no countries taking responsibility anymore?
Everyone is going renewable and counting on someone else to provide the necessary imports?
Jantelagen in Sweden but the Someone-else-ism in Europe.
😞
Electricity should be produced in the amount it is consumed, always. It can also be produced by batteries; the most important thing is that it is available when needed, otherwise it fails. It also cannot be produced more than it is consumed.
If too much active power is produced, we experience overfrequency; if too much reactive power is produced, we experience overvoltage.
If we have too much converter-connected production in the grid, e.g., wind, batteries, and solar, we get stability problems because it does not have the same inertia against rapid frequency changes, so-called inertia. Even though there is the possibility of so-called synthetic inertia, it is not used much because it means, for example, that a wind turbine must be operated outside its most efficient range.
The grid owner can install synchronous compensators, that is, flywheels connected to synchronous generators that run as motors at grid frequency, and if there is frequency fluctuation, they provide inertia in the grid through their rotational mass.
And, besides the physical problems, we also have economic problems. When there is too much installed wind power, it becomes unprofitable both when it is windy and when it is not windy; this problem now exists both in Sweden and Finland. Half removed, and maybe it will balance out.
How lucky we are to have a good energy mix so we can export! 😄
Regarding robots.
Now we know that air defense can take down some but becomes anorexic over time.
Does the West still have a retaliation doctrine or are we completely focused on defense?
The only medicine is retaliation against dictators.
Both Sweden and Poland should have so that we can – separately – reduce all military activity in Kaliningrad within 24 hours.
Trump has cooked up with Putin again – 90 minutes of conversation is probably a world record?
May 9 ceasefire is directly OFFENSIVE.
Then that UA is declining – Trump is an idiot to even dare to voice that.
Clowns but unfortunately I think they will destroy more.
Seems like their troops in the Baltics will soon be urgently needed elsewhere
Trump is like Putin, it’s all about doublethink. Both nuts know that UA is on the rise while RU and the USA are seriously in decline. The goal is to spread the false narrative as long as possible to appease their own voter base. Normally minded people see that it’s exactly the opposite.
Yes, sad to see.
Very sad but the victory perfume and the gold shoes help to ease it
Then you probably have at least one example of all his variants of collector coins as well?
Trump still trusts Putin more than his intelligence service, so he listens to Putin and not to his intelligence service.
Trump does not care to find out the truth, because the alternative truth that Putin presents is tailored to fit Trump’s vision of reality.
Trump calls Putin to get good news and flattery, and Putin calls Trump to get favors.
Yes, unfortunately 😞
Soon Putin will demand a ceasefire through Trump.
THEN it will be up to Europe to hold firm.
UA will crush the Russian bastards this year if the USA and Europe don’t cheat again.
Or more than a ceasefire?
Trump hinted that the two conflicts (Ukraine, Iran) could end on the same timeline…
So we can reflect a bit on what kind of blackmail will be directed at the EU/Ukraine based on this statement and the EU’s dependence on petroleum imports…
Exactly something like that attempt it will be.
Hold the line like Fälldin thundered 😡✊✊💥
We have always wanted to and will always want to.
😂 Gunnar Hedlund
Damn,
So in the worst case, it is that Trump is keeping the strait closed so that the shortage of oil, gas, and fertilizer will force us to pressure Ukraine to give up, and lift the sanctions against Russia so that we become dependent on them again.
Sounds exactly like something Putin would have come up with.
Almost too cruel to be true.
Unfortunately, everything becomes logical if you believe in Krasnov rumors.
Yes, you are right Johan. However, I find it hard to see what Europe would gain from cheating at this point.
Do you remember MXT that the USA would not be able to increase oil exports significantly?
They could
https://x.com/staunovo/status/2049505813195030610?s=46&t=Vah3JXV31B9lXwZOK5gF7w
I recall that their production is around 13.5 mbpd. However, it is possible to ramp up a little slowly. In the long term, it is not possible to export more than what they pump. They also consume some of the oil before there is a surplus to export.
Then we are talking about the export of both oil and refined products in the tweet, i.e. some of it is probably refined crude oil from, among others, Canada.
That they may have made a “deal” with Venezuela adds a wildcard there.
10-12 up to 14 is of course a part, roughly those 30% that I have already mentioned. A little more than I thought earlier but then you also have to take into account that the USA opened up some of its reserves so the entire increase is therefore not due to increased production capacity or normal delivery capability.
The stocks are of course located where there are pipelines or good infrastructure, something that is otherwise a problem in the USA where extraction sites often move.
Then there is the transportation problem, of course related to prices. Now with the high prices it is naturally not as crucial if you have to run shuttle traffic with tank trucks. The additional cost this entails, which otherwise is an obstacle, becomes negligible.
But I admit (for the second time now) that they managed to increase more than I thought. Max around 10% was my guess.
Should have been a reply to Johan, of course.
You are defeated forever.
😂✊️
Seems like the USA really needs to pull back its troops mainly in Eastern Europe.
It’s starting to get ridiculous but this is our reality.
Agreed long ago that everything should proceed step by step.
Europe MUST support Ukraine and the Baltics – a real red line and not a rubber band.
Off-Topic, Iran
“Donald Trump is approaching a new critical deadline for the war in Iran. On May 1, the conflict will pass the 60-day limit, which means the president needs Congress’s approval for the military operations to continue. The War Powers Act – enacted in 1973 – has historically been ignored on several occasions, and various loopholes make it possible to circumvent it. According to information given to Time Magazine, Democrats in Congress plan to file a lawsuit against Trump if he does not comply with the law. At the same time, several Republican members of Congress have expressed a willingness to end the war, reports Semafor. – The 60-day limit is very important to me, says Republican Senator Susan Collins. Trump’s war in Iran has proven unpopular among voters, while the president does not signal that a peace agreement is near. – There is a high political price for completely ignoring the law, says US expert Jan Hallenberg to DN.”
https://omni.se/a/pBM5pG
It will probably be exciting to see how it goes.
Trump and his entourage will probably ignore it as long as they can, but what happens if they refuse?
They are surely searching high and low for some old law they can invoke so they can continue indefinitely.
The Israeli importer Zenziper states that it will not accept Russian grain shipments, writes The Times of Israel. The announcement comes after days of open conflict between Ukraine and Israel, where Volodymyr Zelensky accused the country of buying grain stolen from Ukrainian harvests. The Ukrainian leader said that Israel is breaking its own laws. “It is also a clear signal to all other ships, captains, operators, insurance companies, and governments: Do not buy stolen Ukrainian grain,” writes Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrij Sybiha on X.

Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
The advantage, however, is that now our elected representatives are forced to be present and do their job, while it can be enough for a couple to be in hospital for democracy not to function as intended.
“The opposition parties and the Moderates agree that the parliament’s pairing system has collapsed after the Sweden Democrats’ vote coup. – We note that with the way the Sweden Democrats acted yesterday, the pairing agreement has been terminated, it no longer exists, says MP’s group leader Annika Hirvonen to TT. The Moderates’ group leader Mattias Karlsson believes that all M’s members of parliament will be present next week. – Right now we have no pairing agreement because we don’t trust each other, he says. Lena Hallengren (S) also says that SD has disrupted the system. – Next week we have no pairing system. After that, we’ll see what happens, she tells Ekot. Mattias Karlsson (M) wants the Speaker to call the group leaders to a new meeting on Monday, where SD will also participate.”
https://omni.se/a/M75kg0
Has SD sent infected people to visit members from opposition parties?
😂 Voting tactic!
I have not looked into what has happened, but it sounds typical; if the Social Democrats do not win, it is a threat to democracy.
Normally, that would have been correct but not quite that simple.😄
Apparently it was not a “crisis” when the other parties “to protect democracy,” or something, excluded SD from the vote balancing procedure for several years…?
And this procedure apparently did not either constitute that someone “disrupted the system”….?
New meeting. Does it feel familiar from other contexts? The EU maybe?
Coffee and buns are not bad, of course you want to maximize the number of meetings!
Hmm.. I think I came up with a plan. We have to bribe the person in charge of the coffee to make sure the coffee tastes awful, then we’ll have fewer and more efficient meetings and hopefully more “action”?!
Good idea. Maybe we can put a little extra strong coffee in so something happens.
Yes, exactly!

”It’s important to know what is happening inside Iran and what they are saying. We cannot let Iran win long term, but right now we are not winning long term.
The fact is that ….
They still have a navy, 5 ships are in India, and about 1000 IRGC small boats are still out there in hiding.
They still have an airforce, it’s flying.
They still have a huge army.
They are still pumping and sending oil via pipelines.
Trade with Russia and China is booming in the north.
No one is starving.
It’s estimated that the US has killed hundreds to thousands (700-2000) of civilians so far turning many against us. And yes the government killed tens of thousands. But they killed the ones that were in the uprising. We are killing people driving near targets or at girls schools. That plays differently.
There have been no reported large uprisings in the last month.
The few small attacks have been on police and not military targets backfiring on any anti-government movement.
It’s important to understand that they can lose EVERYTHING in that part of the world, as long as they have a smoking pile of bricks with an Iranian flag on top they win. That’s just the way that part of the world works. Look at Afghanistan.
What we are doing right now is not working long term, yes the military action has been great at a great cost. But long term they are winning right now.
It’s not helping that Trump has stated that we are leaving the Gulf if things don’t change. He has said many times we are just going to pull out. This tells Iran they are about to win, and tells others in the area we cannot be trusted.
We need to change if we want to win.
Facts are facts”

Seems like Iran is frustrated that there is no ground invasion. A bit like the matadors in the bull Ferdinand aka Taco.
They are at a disadvantage but still want to see if they can expose the scam, and if they are wrong they are prepared to go down.
Stupid assholes on both sides who understand nothing.
Good analogy👍
I have perceived that the comments coming from Iran so far have been quite restrained and reality-based, even humorous. But they have come from ministers or officers.
Those mullahs, who unfortunately are in charge of a large violence machine, are a bunch of reality-denying mythomaniacs.
Admitting that they intended to start mass-executing civilians is not exactly the right thing to say if they want the rest of the world to turn against the USA when oil, gas, and fertilizers run out.
The mullahs have a death wish because of their interpretation of Islam, and the best thing is probably to die fighting infidels, so they are probably hoping for an invasion. Like, if you don’t come here and kill us soon, we will kill our population.

Israel is gladly helped, but of course that is because they are neighbors with the USA, just a stone’s throw away, unlike Ukraine.
Bad excuses are exactly that.
He is a bit late, it is Europe that has financed Kiev over the past year, the USA has not given any aid since Trump ascended to the throne. Hegseth naturally likes that we buy American weapons.
However, deliveries are a bit iffy, as the USA has used so many weapons in Trump and Netanyahu’s war against Iran that the stockpiles are starting to run low.
Traditionally, the USA has functioned somewhat as Israel’s bodyguard, which is probably connected partly to the Jewish population in the USA and the Christian right, who perhaps see Trump as the resurrected Jesus who will take them to heaven after the final battle.
