Report from the Ukrainian General Staff:

Glory to Ukraine!

The 1554th day of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun.

A total of 296 combat engagements were recorded during the past day.

According to detailed information, the enemy carried out 76 airstrikes yesterday and dropped 239 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy used 7,089 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,568 shellings against settlements and our troops’ positions, including 36 with rocket artillery systems.

In the last 24 hours, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of Ukraine’s defense forces have struck seven areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, one cannon, and another important enemy target.

In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, the attacker conducted two airstrikes yesterday with six KAB bombs, as well as 87 shellings against our troops’ positions and settlements, including two with rocket artillery. Nine enemy assault attempts were recorded.

In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy attacked 13 times our units’ positions in the areas around Staritsa, Vovchansk, Vilcha, Graniv, Ternova, Lyman, and Kolodiazne.

In the Kupyansk direction, our defenders stopped five enemy attempts to advance towards the settlements of Kupyansk, Kurylivka, Borova, Kolisnykivka, and Novoplatonivka.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy tried 12 times to break through our defense towards Lyman, Drobysheve, Dibrova, and the area around Yampil.

In the Slovyansk direction, the enemy stormed eight times towards the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy carried out an offensive action in the area around Tykhonivka.

In the Konstantinivka direction, the enemy conducted 26 attacks near Konstantinivka, Ivanopillia, Pleshtchiyivka, Rusyn Yar, and towards the settlements of Mykolaipillia, Vilne, and Kutcheriv Yar.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 53 assault attempts from the attacker in the areas around the settlements of Nikanorivka, Kotlyne, Horichove, Novooleksandrivka, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, and Udatsne, as well as towards the settlements of Shevchenko, Bilytske, Serhiyivka, and Novopavlivka.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attacked once, in the area around the settlement of Novohatske.

In the Hulyaipole direction, the occupiers carried out 35 attacks in the areas around the settlements of Dobropillia, Zlahoda, Hulyaipole, Solodke, Pryluky, Zaliznytne, and Staroukrainka, as well as towards Nove Zaporizhzhia, Kvitkove, and Charyvne.

In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders stopped three enemy attempts to advance towards Shcherbaky, Stepnohirsk, and Bilohirya.

In the Prydniprovsk direction, the enemy attacked twice towards Bilohrydyi Island.

In the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups have been detected.

Ukraine’s defenders continue the systematic destruction of the enemy and effectively resist on all front sections.

In total, the Russian invaders’ losses over the past day amounted to 1,000 personnel. In addition, one tank, three armored fighting vehicles, 39 artillery systems, one rocket artillery system, ten ground-based missile complexes, 1,307 unmanned aerial vehicles, 271 vehicles, and three units of special equipment were destroyed or damaged.

  1. Increase in Russian attacks, mixed locations, but focus on Donetsk.

During the night, 22-06, the Russians carried out as many attacks per hour as during the day, 6-22, (at 22: 116 localized attacks, (168-116)/168=0.31). That is, darkness is not an obstacle to Russian offensive capability.

The high Ukrainian pressure remains with the same number of unlocalized attacks as yesterday.

    Localized 168↗️
    Unlocalized 128
    Total 296↗️
    Ratio unloc/loc 0.76↘️

    1. 👍 The ratio is therefore dropping because localized incidents have increased and not because unlocalized ones have decreased. Assuming that the unlocalized ones are Ukrainian attacks, they are still maintaining good pressure, so the decreased ratio is not something to worry about too much.

At the same time, if the Russians were attacking harder, I would have liked to see higher loss figures as well, but of course there may be some delay, and as we have mentioned before, we only know the number of battles, not how extensive they are. There may be many but small ones.

      1. I believe/speculate that localized Russian offensives have a lower KWIA/attack loss ratio than unlocalized ones. It can be seen that in the Pokrovsk ratio in the 22-report it has been below 2 in the last reports. Often around 2. Sometimes above. But in most cases, this ratio poorly explains the total KWIA. Often around a quarter of the total KWIA when counting localized * ratio from Pokrovsk. For example, today with 168 localized and with 2 KWiA per Russian attack (around 1 yesterday though) we get 2*168=336 KWiA from the localized and 664 from the unlocalized attacks, which is 664/128=5 KWiA/Ukrainian attack.

It may be that during an intense offensive one maintains such high pressure that KWIA/attack decreases compared to when groups are routinely sent to the front?

        1. It naturally sounds a bit counterintuitive that larger offensives would generate fewer KIA, but if one assumes that Ukraine now prefers to retreat rather than risk taking heavy losses, it could be true.

The larger offensives could then be when Russia takes another patch of farmland here and there, and Ukraine rather lets them do it instead of risking taking damage, with the idea that they will wear Russia out and only when Russia has little left to offer will they advance.

      2. The editor. Reconnected advanced, but when it was turned off the error did not occur. Still no error with advanced but only making links.

Trying to upload an image via Safari on iPhone:

Nope, when I click nothing happens. The button becomes dark but no dialog.

        1. We’ll see if it resurrects with the editor.

Even if it does, it doesn’t necessarily have to be the editor’s fault, if the issue is due to too much JavaScript running.

But the editor is connected to the ability to edit posts (which in turn also uses JavaScript). Normally, there is only one input form that gets an ID regardless of whether it is a completely new comment or a comment on a comment.

The plugin that allows editing handles it a bit differently. Among other things, it has to keep track of all your comments separately in order to manage the countdown to check if you are still allowed to edit.

This means that even the advanced Editor in turn must keep track of all the IDs to target and replace the usual simple editor with the TinyMCE editor (which in turn also uses JavaScript).

Since it works well for you when you reload the page, I suspect that it later builds up so that the browser memory runs out and then the JavaScript does not load as it should.

But of course, that is just a theory.

          1. 👍

Then you can imagine slimming down the advanced editor a bit. Some image alignments still don’t work, for example. But image and font formatting are good to have. Maybe indentation as well. That might reduce some of the load.

            1. Don’t think it affects the load that much.

Safari on Mac works perfectly, but it seems to be a known issue with the iPhone and upload buttons in the TineMCE editor. It doesn’t register the click event, so it never realizes that it has been clicked.

I’ve been at it for almost two hours but can’t find a solution. It’s incredibly annoying to troubleshoot on the iPhone as it refuses to release what it has already loaded, so you have to clear the cache every time for the changes to take effect.

I’ve tried all possible tips I’ve found, now the only thing left is to try placing the image upload button outside the editor, but I don’t have time for that now.

  2. Johan
Repeating this because you seem to have missed it yesterday.

I have, on a trial basis (since over a week ago), added a feature to upload images.
I haven’t released it to everyone yet but if you check the editor there should be a button/text: “Upload image” to the right of the usual image icon. Click on it and you will be able to choose an image from your computer or mobile.
Let me know if it does not appear in the editor or if you have any other problems when using it.

205, by the way, do you see the button? If so, please feel free to test if you can upload an image.

  3. “39-year-old Robin Lamérus from Kalmar will be the listeners’ summer host on P1 in 2026, announces Sveriges Radio. Lamérus is a firefighter and has made several trips to Ukraine to deliver vehicles and rescue equipment.

    – I meet people in Ukraine who stay behind when we go home. They are happy about all the things we bring, but most important to them is that we tell the world about what is happening over there, he says.

Lamérus’s summer program will be broadcast on July 22. All summer hosts will be announced on June 9.”

    1. I have built in a protection feature with AI that checks if you have sensitive images on your device; if it finds anything like that, it stops the function so you don’t accidentally post something you will later regret.

(Then I ask it to send the sensitive images to me for evaluation. Didn’t know you were so flexible. Now I have to wash my eyes).

    1. Hate iPhone, and it’s crazy when Safari doesn’t work the same as on the Mac.
Then they refuse to fix it so it’s easy to troubleshoot directly on the iPhone.
Of course, you also have to buy a Mac if you want it to be smooth.

And why can’t they follow other standards so it works as it should in Safari?
It’s not just about compatibility but also basic settings, etc.

And that it refuses to clear the cache when you have changed something..

Microsoft was totally bad too once upon a time when their Internet Explorer lived its own life but then it was mostly a matter of small design bugs etc. (plus that they built in features that only worked properly in the Microsoft environment, but it didn’t bother anyone else). But that was many years ago.

      1. Was it the blinking function, or was it Netscape?

Then Java ran 10x faster in IE than in Netscape, but Sun Microsystems didn’t want that. They effectively killed Java in the browser there and then. Since then, MSFT has killed its own alternatives Silverlight, Blazor.

        1. Ah, right, I had forgotten blink! 😂

MS had a hard time getting support for their inventions, which were not always so bad, Active X customers were usable, but at the same time they did not take security fully seriously. The same thing with Adobe and Flash / Shockwave which was actually quite good apart from that, especially towards the end.

But there it was Apple that killed the only solution that worked pretty much the same regardless of platform and the best tool for interactive graphics, games, etc. in the web browser.

  4. Why are UA small breakthroughs significant?

The RU units they pass are infantry on foot.

They are trying with several scopes now, small but still significant

  5. I couldn’t let go of the problem with uploading an image (the customers have to wait) and now I got it to work, at least on my iPhone.

TinyMCE itself places a separate layer over the button where it captures clicks, but the iPhone instead wants a touch event, and that is on the regular button underneath TinyMCE’s layer which stops further events, so it doesn’t get through, so to speak. Had to make a special solution to fix it.

  6. Off-Topic, Iran

“The President of the USA will on Wednesday afternoon gather his government in the White House, likely to provide an update on the peace negotiations with Iran, reports Sky News.

Over the weekend, Trump stated that negotiations were ongoing regarding the final details of a peace agreement. From Iran’s side, it was said that the parties agree on a ‘framework.’

At the same time, Iran’s intelligence department said on Wednesday that Israel’s and the USA’s goals remain to overthrow the religious rule and divide the country, reports AFP. The department claims to have information showing that the US and Israel intend to try to increase economic pressure on the country.”

  7. The Czech-led coalition to purchase ammunition for Ukraine has halved this year, Czech President Petr Pavel tells the Financial Times.

Only nine countries now finance the initiative, compared to 18 last year. Which countries these are is not specified, but a military source states that Germany and some Nordic countries still contribute.

    – This initiative has supplied Ukraine with up to 50 percent of its large-caliber ammunition, so it cannot easily be replaced by anything else, says Pavel.

Since 2024, the project has sent four million artillery shells to Ukraine. Countries began withdrawing last winter when the right-wing populist Andrej Babis was re-elected as Czech Prime Minister.

Babis was close to ending the initiative but backed down after pressure from allies. Several countries no longer want to support the Czech project when not even the country’s ruling politicians do, according to FT’s source.

  8. clashes?

In the past 24 hours, the air force, missile forces, and artillery within Ukraine’s defense forces have hit seven areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, a cannon, and another important enemy target.

No, not a clash, but rather an attack? And does it contribute to the reported KWIA?

  10. 👍

“Canada and Saab have initiated negotiations for the purchase of the Swedish defense giant’s surveillance aircraft Global Eye. A competing bid from the USA has thus been rejected. ‘I look forward to welcoming Canada to the Global Eye family,’ writes Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) on X. Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney also confirms the talks, according to TT. – With a set of advanced sensors and mission systems, Saab’s Global Eye will become an important resource for the Canadian defense to detect and deter threats in the Arctic.”
