Ukraine has once again attacked a refinery and a chemical plant – Russian losses

Ukrainian drones have attacked both a Russian oil refinery and a chemical production facility during the night. This is the second time Lukoil’s refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod region has been attacked this week. The chemical plant, Nevinnomyssk Azot factory, is located in Stavropol Krai and is one of Russia’s largest facilities for the production of fertilizers and explosives. Read more at Kyiv Independent.

While we are on the subject of refineries, the “Moscow Oil Refinery” has now completely stopped its production since the attack on May 17. The damage is said not to be very serious, but the halt is due to fears of further attacks.

During the night, Russia again attacked several regions in Ukraine, and at least 11 were injured. Several residences, including a high-rise building and commercial premises, were hit. Read more here.

  1. New record in the ratio of unlocalized🇺🇦/localized🇷🇺 attacks. Clearly more Ukrainian attacks than Russian, over the past 24 hours according to AFU’s morning report.

Up in the north, down in Luhansk.

Continued Russian focus on Pokrovsk, with heavy pressure, barely increasing.

      1. The trick was that Sirsky said – for the first time our attacks are higher than RU while 205 logged exactly that with unlocalized.

Since it matched in time, it must be correct, I thought.

  2. Could this misery finally be on its way to turning around? We here knew (hoped/believed) that the day would come, but I had not thought it would be four years after the full-scale invasion.

    1. Well, now the UA “spring offensive” is reasonably underway?

increasing from here and more panic from putin-trump

and high risk of escalation into the Baltics

  3. I hope every day that this war will end. My hope is that Xi will give Putin an offer that Putin cannot refuse. Like “let’s be friends as before, so you make sure to end this war.”

The discussions in Beijing today will probably be held behind closed doors, and very little is likely to leak out. To be continued. Here is a link about Putin’s visit to Beijing from a well-informed Chinese person.

    1. Yes, my God – the meeting speeches + Putin’s speech when he is at home, we will be glued to it.

I don’t dare believe it yet, but we will immediately hear which way it is heading straight from the horse’s mouth.

It will probably take no more than a few days after the meeting before we have confirmation.

    1. He has, in fact, been lying all along, but the difference is probably more that people no longer pretend that what he says is true?
Yeah, he’s probably on thin ice. 🙂

  4. A bit much with the contract again, the Chinese and Italians have had arguments before the signing.

I have three posts in progress, one about escalation is like a bible roughly and has many links, so it takes time.

    Coming soon

    1. Imagine getting a free pass from the taxman forever. Damn, I would claim deductions and skip VAT on the company. On the other hand, is it legally sustainable to promise something like that?

  5. Tomas Massie who tries to out Epstein lost his re-election – the opponent had more money than Scrooge McDuck in donations.

    unexpected…

    1. The question is how the voters, especially the so-called independent ones, will react to the Trump-loyal candidates considering that President Donald de Curruptio is not exactly very popular right now.

      1. Well…

That is probably an American record, and they are quite good at that.

Apparently, since January this year, he himself (his desk) has made an enormous number of stock trades.

        Those billions are now protected.

But of course criminal and prosecution after he has resigned, but then the money is probably secured. Is the next thing lifelong immunity from everything during his presidency?

  6. 205 –

Now there are 133 successful attacks

What was the average RU attacks in April – May?

    or last summer?

    Somewhere around 150-180?

    1. update Russian attacks:

      Average attacks April 1, 2026 – May 20, 2026: Russian: 115.58, Ukrainian: 65.86

      Average attacks May 1, 2025 – June 20, 2025: Russian: 174.5, Ukrainian: 10.12

This chart can roughly answer the question. The red lines are RU attacks 7 and 28 days rolling average. (Blue Ukrainian attacks 7 and 28 days rolling average, green ratio Ukrainian/Russian attacks 7 and 28 days rolling average). The numbers are from May 1, 2025 to today.

Roughly estimated, it looks like RU attacks a year ago were around 175 (between 150 and 200 attacks) and in April – May around 125 (between 100 and 150).

  7. Off-topic, Iran 🇮🇷

An Iranian Terrorist Network in Canada? HAYI attacks against US, Israeli, and Jewish targets in Europe and potentially Canada

”Last week, the FBI released a criminal complaint against an alleged commander for Kata’ib Hizballah (KH), an Iranian proxy group financed and directed by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). The complaint argues that Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi is a KH commander and, as part of his work for the group, directed Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya (HAYI).

HAYI has claimed responsibility for nearly twenty attacks in Europe since the start of the Iran-US-Israel conflict. The group first emerged in March 2026 and sought to portray itself as a Europe-based group, independent from KH; however, imagery and social media posts strongly suggested that it was in fact an IRGC-linked entity.”

  8. A rumble and the whole house shook. At first, I thought a road roller had driven into the alley or a truck had crashed into a house. Then came a quick worry that something had struck down!!

It was just an earthquake, very unusual here in Skåne.

      1. No gas pipeline between Siberia and China was signed during Putin’s visit to Beijing. Continued visa-free travel for Russians to visit China until 2027 as consolation.
Xi probably did not want to sign such a large project with a president who has seen his best days. I wonder if Putin realizes this? I think he does.

    1. That sounds good, maybe a military coup can finally get the mullahs out of power. I almost think a military dictatorship is better than an Islamist dictatorship.

      1. Off topic. Magnus Stenbock. No one has probably been as associated with the Swedification of the Scanian provinces as this marauder. Granted, he was a skilled field marshal. From time to time over the years, the people of Helsingborg have wanted to get rid of the statue considering what he did to Skåne. It has been moved but still remains.
I had my employment in the 90s at SJ ferry division in Helsingborg. Three new ferries were to be built in Norway. The first, under Danish flag, was named “Tycho Brahe,” which was a good name for this astronomer from Ven. The second boat, under Swedish flag, was kept secret for a long time, but there were rumors in Helsingborg that it would be named “Magnus Stenbock.” It caused, quite frankly, a hell of a commotion among the employees at SJ Helsingborg. The boat was hurriedly named “Aurora af Helsingborg.” Everything was hushed up. History-less Swedes. The third boat was named “Hamlet.” A perfectly fine name for that route.

        1. Magnus Stenbock ended his days in Copenhagen in 1717, in Danish captivity.
The Danes offered to release him for a ransom after he complained about his miserable situation, but his wife does not seem to have wanted to get him back as she apparently made no effort to pay the ransom or otherwise secure his freedom.
The lesson to be learned from this is to stay on good terms with your wife!

            1. Limhamn Dragør was a reliable connection before the bridge was built if you were going to Kastrup, which was “my” airport. But I didn’t know about the mines. Actually sounds sensible. Thanks for the information.

              1. Off topic Kastrup. I’m taking the opportunity here tonight while all the skilled writers in this thread are taking it a bit easy.
I was at Kastrup. Had checked in, so I was in the transit hall.
First, I saw Ted Gärdestad with a bag and a tennis racket, and just nearby Lotta Ramel. The two of them were a couple in the mid-70s. A little later, I saw Povel Ramel standing by himself alone in a corner. Surely all three were on their way somewhere.
I really like Povel, but I’m one of those who are a bit discreet and let people be.
After a while, I took the elevator down to the restrooms and took care of what I needed there, then I walked back toward the elevator. From the elevator, Povel was coming toward me. When we were face to face, I slammed on the brakes, pointed at his shoes, and said (not sang) “Take off your shoes!” Then I walked quickly to the elevator. I was embarrassed. When I opened the elevator door, I turned around. Then Povel was still standing in the same place facing me and tipped his hat as a greeting. I thought I had made a fool of myself. A fine artist and person.
“Take off your shoes” was one of his biggest hits.

                1. Thank you for your nice puzzle, 205, but also for all the interesting things you post..

  9. Looks like someone has fallen asleep over the keyboard, perhaps with a large yellow wall above them.

Likely Ukrainian attacks down while Russian ones up somewhat. A Ukrainian offensive may be over after having reached its goal.

The ratio 0.72 remains higher than the average after Christmas, before April this year, about 0.5, which in turn was higher than last year’s average.

It could also be a pause in fighting for the Ukrainian warriors with regrouping and rotation.

    1. Thank you 205. Since we were carried away by JN1’s cheerful shouts yesterday, we believe it is a pause in the fight and regrouping before the next blow.

  10. There are rumors in some places that, among other things, excerpts from Swan Lake were played at the banquet with the barbarian chieftain. It sounds like a tall tale, but what if 😆…
